Le Petit Moulin, tranquil renovated watermill

Le Petit Moulin was the grain mill for the hamlet. It has been sympathetically modernised to create a characterful home and is set in large tranquil gardens with fig, olive and walnut trees. The lawn reaches down to the Maroule, the small river which once served the mill.
The mill is 5 minutes from Olargues, one of the 'Les Plus Beaux Villages de France' in the parc naturel du Haut Languedoc. The hamlet is in the foothills of the Caroux mountain with delightful walks directly from the house.
The region offers spectacular features (hiking, mountain biking, canyoning), medieval towns with Cathar history and wine-tasting opportunities in the many vineyards which lie between Olargues and the coast.

Idyllic Setting

This property lived up to our expectations. it is a quirky yet comfortable place to stay. My husband and I spent a month their at the beginning of Autumn, and were joined by friends for the middle 2 weeks. The house is a short drive from Olargues which has a great boulangerie, a small supermarket and a couple of very good restaurants. Its great base to explore the area and there excellent walking opportunities to suit all levels. Our host was extremely helpful with advice about the area before our stay and very supportive during our stay sorting out technical some technical problems we encountered. As explained in the description of the property, parking is in communal area (it is a medieval hamlet) and we were prepared for the walk up and down to the car park, which, as our stay went on became easier, or maybe i just got fitter. Two pieces of advice for future visitors. 1) As we were staying September/October we hadn't anticipated the warm weather and the mosquitos, neither of which can be controlled by the host, so pack appropriate repellents. 2)The property is in a "dark skies" area and I would encourage visitors to keep an eye on the weather and moon phases then set your alarm for about 2:30 am! to look up at the night sky, its amazing.

Petit havre de paix où nous avons passé un agréable séjour.Un endroit parfait pour nos amis les bêtes surtout avec la chaleur, la rivière a été bien appréciée.Patricia qui nous a accueilli est très gentille et la propriétaire glynis a répondu à toutes nos questions et attentes avant notre arrivée.Le petit bémol est l’accès au logement pour les bagages mais c’était indiqué donc pas surpris.

Vacances de rêve en famille dans ce superbe moulin restauré avec goût. Le charme de la pierre, son côté atypique, ses espaces, son immense jardin au bord de la rivière ont enchanté notre séjour.Très bon contact avec Glynis très réactive et merci à Patricia pour son chaleureux accueil, sa sympathie et sa disponibilité Merci également à Corinne du hameau pour son cours de Yoga à domicile. Merveilleux moment ! La région est magnifique. Nous avons apprécié la proximité des lacs, des rivières, des gorges d'Héric, des villages pittoresques, de la voie verte en vélo... mais nous n'avons pas pu tout voir et reviendrons avec grand plaisir !Je recommande vivement cet endroit magique !

Une semaine entre copines

Nous avons passé une semaine au moulin. Ce que nous avons aimé : le lieu , au calme, la petite rivière et sa douce musique , le fait de pouvoir faire de belles balades sans prendre la voiture. Ce que nous avons moins aimé : l’annonce n’est pas juste : il n’y a pas de bain à remous , pas de grille pain, pas de sèche linge ( encore moins d’ascenseur , ça nous a bien fait rigoler) . Ce qui nous a vraiment déplu : Nous sommes arrivées dans une maison sale ou visiblement le ménage n’avait pas été fait : traces de matières fécales et urine dans les wc de la chambre rouge et baignoire non nettoyée . Dans la chambre du rdc une cuvette de Wc vraiment dégoûtante ainsi que la douche avec des cheveux ou des poils ( nous n’avons pas cherché à savoir…). C’est dommage de ne pas entretenir cette maison qui est ravissante. Nous sommes parties en laissant la maison comme nous aurions aimé la trouver

I am very disappointed to read this review. Firstly, the website is a little confusing as it should more clearly state we are near a spa town. No one has expected a hot tub before! There is a grill in the oven and a clothes drier in the garden. I do not understand your comment about an ascenseur. The house was cleaned before you came! The red bathroom was cleaned after penultimate guests and not used until you came. You asked to come early.We agreed for you to come 2 1/2 hours earlier than our stated arrival time. This no doubt limited the amount of cleaning time available, but I can assure you floors, the terrace, bathrooms, kitchen equipment including fridge, oven , coffee maker etc, etc were all cleaned.

Schöne, ruhige Location mit kleinen Mängeln

Sehr gut ausgestattete Küche! Die Matratzen in den Schlazimmern sind gut. Den Ausblick nach draußen haben leider schmutzige Fenster getrübt.Von den Sonnenliegen war nur noch eine zu gebrauchen, nach Reklamation bei Patricia wurden jedoch zwei neue angeschafft. Teilweise zerschlissene Kissen und rostige Gartenmöbel müssten mal erneuert werden.

Prachtig huis in heerlijke omgeving

Het huis, de tuin, de rivier zijn fantastisch. De kinderen konden zich prima vermaken in het water. De slaapkamers met ieder een eigen badkamer was zeer luxe. Het uitzicht en de stilte, laten je wegdromen. Bovenaan parkeren en dan door het gehucht naar beneden lopen is een belevenis. De kinderen vonden dat ze in de middeleeuwen waren. Alle slaapkamers hebben horren, dat is hard nodig vanwege de zeer vele muggen, die ook overdag steken. Daardoor kun je beneden niets openzetten, wat gezien de warmte wel fijn zou zijn. Ik zou een klamboe adviseren. Het was een idyllische plek in een heel mooie omgeving, om helemaal tot rust te k9men en in de natuur te zijn.

En besonderer Ort

Es war großartig. Das Haus ist nicht nur üppig und liebevoll ausgestattet, sondern gibt mit seinem Kamin und Mauerwerk auch eine hervorragende Kulisse für Halloween-Bilder ab! Die Gegend ist schön ruhig, beide Besitzerin und Hausdame äußerst zuvorkommend. Unbedingt in der Nähe zu besuchen: das Restaurant Fleurs d'Olargues und das Städtchen Pezenas mit seinen unzähligen Kunst- und Handwerksgeschäften und Antiquitätenläden. Ganz herzlichen Dank für einen gelungenen Urlaub!

Schönes Ferienhaus mit großem Garten

Das Ferienhaus ist liebevoll eingerichtet. Der großzügige Garten grenzt an einen Bach und verfügt über ausreichend Schatten. Man muss wissen dass das Haus nur über einen relativ steilen Weg zu erreichen ist.

Ein wunderbarer Ort zum Genießen und Wohlfühlen

Die Mühle ist ein Augenschmaus. Sie befindet sich zudem in einem kleinen, historischen Dorf nahe dem malerischen Olargues in wunderbarer Umgebung. Wir haben jeden Tag aufs Neue schon den Gang vom Auto durchs Minidorf zur Mühle genossen. Die Ruhe des Ortes ist eine Wohltat. Das Grundstück bietet jede Menge Platz, um einfach auch mal nur am Haus zu bleiben und Federball oder was sonst behagt zu spielen. Einziger Nachteil des malerisch übers Grundstück plätschernden Baches ist die damit verbundene Menge an Mücken. Wir wurden bei unserer Ankunft äußerst freundlich am Haus durch eine Dame aus dem Dorf empfangen. Die Kommunikation mit ihr wie auch mit der Besitzerin war im Vorfeld und während unseres Aufenthaltes überaus angenehm, freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sehr gern kommen wir einmal an diesen Ort zurück!

Liebevoll restaurierte alte Mühle direkt am Bach mit großem Garten in einem malerischen Ort. Wer Ruhe und Erholung sucht ist hier bestens aufgehoben.
