Stunning seaside home in the Scottish Highlands with its own private coastline

Shore Cottage offers beautiful accommodation for families or couples looking for a relaxing break in a spectacular coastal setting.

Shore Cottage is a newly renovated house, completed in 2016 to a very high standard. The well-laid out open plan kitchen, dining and sitting rooms provide uninterrupted views of Loch Gairloch, with a covered deck which allows you to enjoy the great outdoors whatever the weather. In the living room there is also a cosy log-burning stove. Downstairs, an additional TV room allows relaxing evenings for all – no disagreements about what to watch! In addition, there are a comfortable twin bedroom and separate large shower room downstairs. Upstairs, there are 2 peaceful king size bedrooms with beautiful views over Loch Gairloch, and a separate family bathroom.

The land belonging to the house stretches along an acre of coastline, but the immediate garden is fenced. From the house and garden otters, porpoise, dolphin, seals and many seabirds are often seen.

Shore Cottage is set in both a beautiful and a convenient location. While being within short walking distance of beaches, boat trips, shops, galleries, golf course, pubs and café’s, it is also in a peaceful secluded area – the perfect spot for relaxing.

We have spent a lot of our life on holiday in the area so if there is anything we can help with please just ask.

Beautiful Shore Cottage

The cottage is beautifully built and sits in a stunning garden faced with dramatic rock cliffs leading into the sea at Gairloch. It affords endless views of the changing tides and spectacular cloud formations. It possesses all the amenities and is beautifully situated as a base from which to visit the rest of the Highlands.

Gulf stream magic

A wonderful location. We were blessed with a good few days of warm weather and could sit out watch the seals at play. There is plenty to do nearby and some excellent places to eat. The house is well laid out and easy to settle in to. The host, Andrew, is pleasure to deal with.

Amazing views and direct access to the sea

One of the best properties we ve ever stayed in. Well equipped and stylish cosy interior. Amazing views from every window. Beautiful garden and wonderful to be able to swim and see seals from the house. Nice walk to harbour and local shop and post office and to Gairloch beach from the house. We ll definitely come back..

A Perfect View

Andrew’s cottage is really outstanding. I would give six stars if I could. The views from the cottage, terrace and garden are just stunning, we sat and watch the world go by. The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable and Andrew’s communications are helpful and friendly. The surrounding countryside is stunning with mountain views and beautiful coastline. Badachro Inn is well worth a visit for lunch.

Paradise!

We absolutely loved our stay here. The setting was stunning. We saw otters, dolphins and seals outside the house. The local beach 1km walk away over the headland was perfect and usually deserted. The house was comfy and well equiped. The log fire and washing machine were handy in the bad weather! Andrew the host was friendly and very quick to respond to any questions or issues. We'd love to go back!

Wonderful seaside retreat

We had the most amazing week at this property. The house was gorgeous, and as a family of four there would have plenty of room for others. The downstairs is mostly open plan, with one bedroom. The views from the enormous windows were gorgeous, and having escaped from a hectic time at work, really genuinely calming. The open plan has a large kitchen table that made for easily family dining, and the whole thing was of a higher standard than we have at home. The area is fabulous, from the rocks just a few metres out of the back door, to the 5 min walk to the Local cafe and shop at the harbour front. We went on a number of short (half hour ish) excursions from the house to fabulous beaches, beautiful gardens and various walks. This is the second time we have been to the Gairloch area, and we will be back again, and will stay at this house. It was wonderful.

Die Lage ist unschlagbar

Man muss die Lage des Hauses unbedingt hervorheben: mit dem Auto erreichbar und dennoch fernab jeglichen Verkehrs. Man sieht und hört einfach nur das Plätschern des Wassers, die Möven und manchmal auch die Seehunde, die übrigens immer mit der Flut kommen und vom Fenster aus toll zu beobachten sind. Das Haus der Nachbarn steht zwar unmittelbar nebenan, aber man bekommt von ihnen praktisch gar nichts mit (es sei denn ein Boot fährt vorbei und der Hund bellt kurz).Das Haus selbst ist nicht im eigentlichen Sinne luxuriös, aber es ist alles funktional und wie im Inserat beschrieben. Die Betten waren super. Angenehm sind die zentrale Wärmesteuerung und die Fußbodenheizung in den Bädern.Die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber Andrew war sehr angenehm. Von ihm erhielten wir einige Tipps für unsere Freizeitgestaltung. Die zweieinhalb Wochen waren für uns absolute Erholung!

Traumhafte Unterkunft

Super Lage, mega Aussicht aufs Meer, sehr ruhig, viel Platz auch für große Familien, bequeme Betten, gut eingerichtet und ausgestattet, Bäder top, sehr gemütlich (Kaminofen!). Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt! Sauberkeit war ok, hätte hier und da noch etwas besser sein können. Einzige Einschränkung: das Trinkwasser ist ein bisschen gechlort, als Teetrinker haben wir Flaschenwasser gekauft. Aber sonst war alles prima.

Amazing place

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. The pictures don’t do it justice. Over the years we’ve stayed in a lot of holiday rentals but this is the best one. Lots of lovely beaches and walks in the area or you can just sit and watch the loch from one of the many picture windows.

Amazing outlook for a week of chill

My husband and I had our trip to Canada and Dominican Republic cancelled last minute with a positive COVID test. Very frustrating but couldn’t be helped. To ease the disappointment, I went in search of a bolt hole to disappear to after isolation. I came across this fabulous wooden house at the end of pier road in Gairloch looking directly out to Badachro and beyond to Skye. What an amazing house. Beautifully decorated, making the most of every angle so much so I never read one page of my book, I was far too busy staring at the view and watching otters and seals who came close to the shore. This felt very much like a place to relax. I was able to paint watercolours and a view that changed constantly. The kitchen was fully equipped, the bed comfortable and the shower pressure great. The wood burner was great with plenty of wood and the rest of the house was cosy with the hive system. We were really lucky with the weather and spent a lot of time wandering around coves and beaches. We hired e bikes from the Badachro inn for half a day and cycled further down the coast finding fabulous beaches to ourselves. We were slightly early for the season starting but did have a pint in Badachro inn and a meal in the Old Inn at the end of the road and although slightly disorganised on their first night, we enjoyed some great seafood so would recommend. All in all, a fabulous location, stunning home and provided a chance to chill.

Beautiful house in stunning location

We had a fantastic week at shore cottage. Very lucky to have sun all week ! Very well designed and furnished house with beautiful sea views, one of the best we have stayed in. Very peaceful location at the end of the pier road. Great for booking a boat trip. We went on the 4 hr trip around Raasay which was superb and saw loads of wildlife. Took full advantage of the beach front access, swimming, snorkelling and kayaking from the rocks (we had all our own equipment). The decked verandah was lovely and has sun from morning until night. We had bikes with us so cycled into Gairloch and visited many of the stunning beaches around. Short distance to Torridon for the mountains. Well stocked shop within walking distance. Booking and communication with Andrew the host was very easy. It was a lot more than we would normally have paid for a house of this size but this was prob due to covid restrictions increasing rental prices at the time.

Wonderful week in beautiful house

A Beautiful house in an amazing setting!

Shore Cottage is even better than the photos! A beautiful spot with its very own access to the sea loch. My whole family were mesmerised by its beauty and spent many hours just looking out of the window. Would highly recommend to any of those wanting to get away from everything for some 5 star R &R.

Mesmerising

Well laid out property that certainly makes the most of the amazing mountains and views. When seating and chilling out staring at the view, it doesn't matter what the weather might be like outside you will find yourself transfixed. If you never leave the property and spent your break indoors you would not feel cheated.
