Spacious Penthouse apartment, Walberswick, Nr Southwold sleeping 6 next to beach

The Penthouse is perfect for up to 6 people and is set in Marsh End, a prominent village house close to the estuary and within minutes walk of the beach and marshes. If you would like an 'enid blyton' holiday then Walberswick is the place to be. Walking and cycling take precedence over cars and life is very laid back here. Our apartment is within walking distance of two pubs serving good food and the village green is a hub of excitement with its tea and gift shops and swings for the little ones. The Crabbing World championships take place here every year and everyone is encouraged to practice all year round - just bring your string, fat and bucket - a great time for all.

You can walk or cycle to Southwold and to cut your journey down for a small fee you can be rowed across the estuary. Southwold harbour offers great fish and chips and stalls to buy the freshest of fresh fish.

There are many lovely walks and we are surrounded by marshes and bird santuaries and walkable to Dunwich, the village lost to the sea.

Lovely apartment in a cute village

We had a lovely time staying at the apartment. Check in was easy and host communicated well and accommodated us to stay for a later checkout. The village is very peaceful and calming with a few lovely pubs and amenities. 20 min drive to Southwold.

Stunning Suffolk

We had a great time and loved the location. Despite being in the penthouse our mum at 84 managed the stairs!!! And the local shops were brilliant and the staff in the Co-op were so friendly and so surprised at the range they had for such a small shop - the NY Times!!!

wonderful generous apartment

Very well equipped apartment (especially kitchen) and immaculately clean. The views are fabulous too. We would highly recommend. the only slight down side was that it is two flights up so not great for anyone with mobility issues but we managed fine. great stay would book again

Three Wonderful Days

We had planned to have Christmas 2020 with our daughter and teenage grandchildren in the Penthouse Apartment. CoVid ruined that plan! So more than a year later, we had built very high expectations for our stay. The Penthouse more than delivered. A fabulous property, in a fabulous location. Well worth the wait!

Fabulous apartment in idyllic location

We spent a week crabbing and on the beach with the children. The apartment was the perfect base for intermittent rests, shelter from inclement weather and having tea and cake. The location is ideal for access to walberswick beach and the Blyth estuary and good food can be found at the local bakery and pubs and on southwold harbour. Equally, the kitchen is very well appointed and cooking for a family of six was no problem at all. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms clean and modern with a good shower. Would definitely recommend and plan to stay again, possibly without the children!

Best equipped let we have ever seen.

Although the weather was a bit rough on the first day, this was more than made up for by the excellence of the accommodation. Everything was first class and the area was beautiful. We hope to return for a longer stay. Hopefully by then the pubs and restaurants will be back to normal.

Lovely apartment

We had a great time. The flat has everything you’d need for a short or long stay. We found the layout very spacious and well suited for a toddler to toddle around in. The location is excellent, couldn’t be much closer to the beach or harbor. We will definitely stay again.

What a wonderful place

The Penthouse is perfectly located close to the harbour in Walberswick making access to interesting walks very easy. The apartment is clean, contains everything you might need, and the owner is obviously a person who cares about the welfare of her guests and making the place a comfortable holiday retreat.

Super penthouse apartment in great location

Penthouse was very spacious, modern clean and comfortable. 5 mins walk to beach, good pubs and village shops. Ideal location for a short break or family holiday. Owner Rosemary was very helpful.
