Stono River House, Relax and Enjoy

This 5 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath home is located on the intra-coastal waterway, in a quiet gated community, 20 minutes from Historic downtown Charleston. This house, surrounded by live oaks, offers a relaxing Southern atmosphere. The wrap-around porch offers a variety of natural views. This 3 story home has elevator access to each floor. The top floor has 3 bedrooms with queen beds and an open bonus room with a double bed. The main floor boasts a large family room, a kitchen, and a dining room overlooking the Stono river. Just off the family room is the master suite with a king bed and a private bath with an antique claw foot tub and separate walk in shower. There is also a double bed located off the kitchen with a connecting half bath. This river home sleeps 10 to 12 people comfortably and is ideal for connecting with nature and relaxing. There is an elevator for luggage and ease of getting into the house. However the contractor chose to make the interior doors too small for wheelchairs.

Charleston Family Vacation

Wonderful time with our whole family. House was beautiful and had everything we needed for a perfect week. Front porch was so relaxing in the morning and watching the deer frolic in the front yard was fabulous.

The house was beautiful and big enough for a big family. I would definitely recommend. The elevator was wonderful for moving luggage to all the floors. We hadd a blast playing ping pong and playing cards.

Quiet, Relaxing and Comfortable

We hope we have an opportunity to go back!! Wonderful location for a peaceful, relaxing stay. We were in and out quite a bit for a wedding on John’s island, but thought the drive was well worth it. We had 9 family members and lots of space and everything we needed. The kitchen was so well stocked, the outdoor spaces we amazing. With it being a gated community, we felt extra safe and secure. Would highly recommend for large groups!! Thanks to this VRBO host!!!!

Beach getaway

We had a great time at this property. It was so nice and quiet, we even saw dolphins down in the river of the dock at high tide. It was nice and close to Charleston and the surronding beaches.

Catch of a Lifetime

An amazing weekend with this house as our basecamp. We enjoyed making use of the firepit, outdoor kitchen, ping pong table, and pier. We even managed to catch (and release) a 33" long Red Drum that will forever be remembered.

Beautiful location. The house couldn't have been better. The only improvement would have been, if there was a railing going out to the dock. The house was clean and the beds comfortable. Plenty of room for a large family

Family wedding rental

This property was an amazing place to stay for my daughter's wedding on John's Island. Plenty of space, very clean, and a gorgeous setting. The dock to the river is a wonderful morning walk with coffee. We hope to be back in the future. Great memories!

Charleston wedding weekend

This home was wonderful! Very clean, very large, very quiet, very comfortable. It was perfect for our group of 9 adults. We enjoyed all of the areas of the house - the bedrooms and bathrooms were great, the large porch and living areas gave us room to visit and be together, and we enjoyed time at the waterfront and on the dock. LeeAnne was very easy to communicate with, though we had no issues. We would highly recommend this place!

Wedding home for the Bride’s family

Great place for our large group in town for a wedding. The elevator was key! Kitchen was nicely stocked with dishes and utensils. The 80-gallon water heater kept up with all of our showers. The wrap-around porch with rocking chairs was a nice spot to relax after the full day of wedding festivities. Leanna was very prompt with answers to my questions. Would definitely book again.

Amazing but haunted

The property was quite amazing but we were a little concerned the place is haunted! The home was perfect for our entire family with lots of room however, if you're looking to sleep well don't plan on it. There is little to no sound barriers in the walls and floors so you hear everything in every room. We loved the house. Location. And the beautiful dock. Beds were less than comfortable but ok. House was stocked very well with everything. But.... haunted.... when we arrived to garage was wide open and all doors unlocked and open. When we would leave the home we locked the doors and closed the garage door to only come back with all the doors open again. Can't explain it. This happened multiple time during our stay. Nothing missing and no harm but really strange!!! Overall. We loved it and plan to come back!

Home Away from Home

We were here for a wedding ~ House is FANTASTIC for gathering! Dining area decorates beautifully and easy to serve a crowd. I brought my own staples and spices but it wasn’t needed. Kitchen is WELL STOCKED with baking supplies, spices, and sauces, as well as plenty of pans, platters, nice serving dishes and plastic wrap, foil, and baggies. The mattresses are GREAT ~ beds super comfy and abundant linens supplied. There’s even an extra twin mattress supplied to use in the loft. The owners are super nice and laid-back and the property reflects that ~ Its a home away from home. What you don’t see online is a HUGE open basement with pool table and kayaks supplied. The porch wraps around entire house, with a small portion screened in off the master bedroom. The elevator was AWESOME!! There were a good number of wasp nests all around the porch, but there is spray provided. The couches need updating ~ they are hard to sit in and hard to get out of. Could use more comfy-type seating downstairs. But PLENTY of hard back seating and stools. Neighborhood currently has a good bit of construction noise, but it didn’t bother us. Our families enjoyed this house !! It was perfect for our gatherings! We would definitely stay again !
