An historic residential neighborhood, peaceful and safe. Surrounded by beautiful Victorian era homes where just about all our neighbors are our friends. We are located practically next door to Saint Augustine's premier new restaurant "Preserved" we are also a two minute walk to the Ice Plant Restaurant, Fish Camp Restaurant and the Saint Augustine Distillery and walk for a few more minutes and you will arrive at the San Sebastian Winery both of which have free tours and tastings, the winery restaurant has live music at the weekends. We are close enough to everything we feel the entire town is our neighborhood.

If you plan to stay around the historic downtown are we are 10 minutes walk from almost anywhere. There is public transportation in the form of " The Sunshine Bus Company" and Pedi-Cab services. There is also a bicycle and scooter rental shop about five minutes walk.

The space is also provided with a coffee maker and filters an electric kettle and all the tea, ground coffee and sugar you need. There is also a portable ironing board and iron for your use. The bathroom has everything you need including a hair dryer. Brochures from a lot of the local attractions are on hand as well as a map of the area. Should you need anything else (within reason) to make your stay a memorable one please let us know in advance, my husband and I are always available.

This is a peaceful house and we expect our guests to treat our place as they would treat their own home. There are other people permanently living in the home so excessive noisy/rowdy behavior will not be tolerated should we get complaints.
This is also a non-smoking apartment although you may smoke outside on the porch if you wish as long as its kept free of cigarette butts etc. We also do not allow pets of any kind, sorry. Lastly, the floor is antique wood that has recently been refinished so please, we require all footwear to be removed before entering the apartment.

Cute and Quaint…
“Charming” was so cute and quaint. Perfect for what we needed. We were here to visit St. Augustine so all we needed was a place to relax a little, shower and sleep. Coffee on the porch in the morning was so enjoyable, too. For us, this location was perfect. So close to everything, yet not in the middle of “all the mayhem”. So, you can spend your day visiting all the beautiful sites and then retreat to a quiet, relaxed neighborhood to unwind. Literally, minutes to ALL the site… you could walk, if so inspired! Communication with host was excellent, as well. You can tell Lizy is highly motivated to ensure guests satisfaction. Highly recommended.

Great Location, dreary small apartment
The location is good & it’s only a short walk to everything. But the pictures & description mislead you. The whole thing is like a hotel room with a bathroom. The washer dryer in the pictures is actually outside in an alcove & not in the room, you would have to leave it out there & anybody could mess with it or take it. It’s a lovely old building but the apartment was drab & dreary with old furnishings & not even a proper wardrobe, it was some old tv cabinet that had a rail in & was not even enough space for a shirt to hang without it touching the bottom. Everything was badly finished & not that nice. It was very clean & the parking out back was convent for a midsize car as they stated. It’s such a shame as the location & the old house could be stunning. At no point did the owners check to see if everything was ok & I’ve waited a week to see if I would hear from them to pass this but nothing so I’ve gone ahead & left this review

Would stay again
Communications re: parking, keys, expectations, etc from Lizy were clear and accurate. We arrived to find clean accommodations, a comfortable bed and cold refrigerator. The house is old, cute and SOLID. There were other VRBOers in the house. We didn’t hear them at all. The kitchen is well equipped for reheating and coffee making with ample counter space. Our favorite feature is definitely the front porch with its ceiling fan and cushioned wicker chairs. It was a perfect spot for coffee in the morning and beer at sunset. LOCATION? GREAT!!!! After a Town Trolley ride to get some history and a lay of the land, we walked everywhere for 3 days. The house is so close to downtown and yet such a quiet neighborhood. We had a super time in St Augustine and enjoyed our stay at Lizy and Ron’s place.

I am an English teacher originally from China, I emigrated to the United States in the late 90's to continue my career in teaching. I married my husband six years ago and we have two wonderful children. We are all loving life in Saint Augustine!

My Husband and initially had the opportunity to work from home and from anywhere so we traveled all over Florida from Tarpon Springs to Naples on the Gulf Coast and from Fort Lauderdale to Jacksonville on the Atlantic Coast. The choice was very clear the moment we set foot in Saint Augustine, we came back weekend after weekend and fell in love with everything to do with this wonderful, historic town. Saint Augustine has everything. We bought this property as our primary residence but after two years we had our first child and soon after realized the house was not really set up to raise a small child due to the house layout and the quite low porch balusters. However, we loved the neighborhood so much we purchased another Victorian house in the next street. We recently renovated this ground floor apartment specifically for vacation rental, we love meeting and making new friends all year round.

Why they chose this property

This house is in an historic residential neighborhood, peaceful and safe. Surrounded by beautiful Victorian era homes where just about all our neighbors are our friends.
It is within a few minutes walking distance to everything Downtown Saint Augustine has to offer. One of the most attractive things to my husband and I was the fact we don't have to drive anywhere except to the supermarket once a week. There is also something going on almost every weekend, festivals, art/craft shows and music everywhere.

What makes this property unique

Right in Downtown Saint Augustine!
