Seabluffe has the best access to the ocean in Encinitas.
Our home is a nicely furnished 2 bedroom, 2 bath with a loft. In the summer, we rent Sat to Sat. Our home is a tri-level design with one bedroom on entry level and one bedroom 6 steps down. We are located in the gated Seabluff community, which is on the border between Encinitas and Carlsbad.. We have king beds in both of the bedrooms and a day bed in the upstairs loft. Maximum occupancy is 5 people or 6 if one of your children is a baby. The living room and master bedroom are 6 steps down from the kitchen and both open to a large sunny deck that is perfect for lazy afternoons and evening dining. Remodeled kitchen with counter to dining area looks over living room. Living room is very open and comfortable with a large flat screen HDTV. Patio with barbeque in front gets morning sun. Master bath has shower and second bathroom next to 2nd bedroom has a washer, dryer and shower/tub,
Internet is provided. We have beach chairs, some boogie boards and three bikes that you are welcome to use. We are in a great area of Seabluff, just a block away from the private steps to one of the quieter beaches in the county. Seabluff is really a special community within the city of Encinitas. Vogue magazine did a special on Encinitas in their summer issue a few years back highlighting the friendly town and our beautiful beaches. In addition to being right on the coast, Seabluff has a heated pool with spa and another quieter pool with an ocean view. We have lit tennis and pickleball courts, basketball hoop, kids play structure and large grassy areas. Seabluffe has a gated entrance for privacy and a security patrol for additional safety. Parking available for 2 cars. RNTL~022463-2022
There is really nothing like Seabluffe in the San Diego area. You can walk to Beacons beach or Ponto beach via the street in 10 minutes or walk on our beach at low tide. You might have days where you never use your car. Of course if you do venture out, you are in easy driving distance to everything San Diego has to offer. LEGOLAND is just a few miles away and the ZOO and Sea World are only 30 minutes away. For golfers, we are within minutes to two nice public courses and two high end resort courses, LaCosta and Aviara.
We hope you will give us a call. RNTL-022463

This condo is in a prime location next to ocean and close to I-5. We enjoyed our stay and this house had all the amenities we needed. Larry and Lynda were great hosts that communicated before and after our stay to make sure we had a lovely time. Highly recommend this little hidden gem.
Amazing location (close to everything), beautiful neighborhood and cozy home. All instructions were very clear and easy to understand. No guesswork needed! Already a returning customer and plan to be a repeat customer in the future when our needs takes us to San Diego.

Thank you, Amanda for returning to our home in Seabluffe/encinitas. We appreciate your review.

We had a great time at this house. What I have enjoyed the most is sitting and reading on the deck/patio, playing in the waves at the ocean, and enjoying the many eateries in the neighborhood. The house is quiet - no A/C but having fans on, there’s enough breeze to be comfortable (granted, it was cloudy most of the week). The beach is rocky until you enter water, nice and sandy afterwards. Lynda and Larry are very gracious hosts with great communication - an extra special touch was a handwritten note and a bottle of wine welcoming us. We will likely be back!
Good family condo. It's not fancy but it's comfortable. New carpet was nice. Lots of beach chairs, towels, toys, etc. Good location in proximity to the pools and beach. Walk to restaurants and donut shop. If you're new to this beach be aware the tides and rocks could affect your beach time. And lots of stairs down to the beach...but these are unrelated to the condo. Loved having a garage and balcony. Mentioned a couple of things to the owners and they promptly replied. I would probably rent this condo again to continue the many years of making memories in Leucadia with my daughters.
The property was absolutely perfect. So did not want to leave. Cleanliness, ease of booking and contact with owners, all were smooth and easy. I would not hesitate to book this place again! Great for a family stay in San Diego.
Husband and I stayed with the in-laws and our 2 kids. It’s the perfect place for 2 adult couples and a couple of kids, with the 2 king bedrooms and the kids room with the 2 twins. It felt like it was made for our group. We loved the beach and the pools. Was nice that they had beach chairs, toys and boogie boards and stuff available for us to use. We did not have a car and just used instacart for groceries and stuff and took Lyft when we needed to go anywhere else. It would be nice to have a car, but it was not necessary. The beds aren’t new by any means but we found them quite comfortable and I LOVED the pillows in the master bedroom. Hope to be back someday, thanks for a great stay!
Larry and Lynda's condo is located in an extremely well maintained complex approximately 2 miles north of downtown Encinitas. Check-in was a breeze with the instructions provided and the security guards were friendly and very helpful the entire stay. The complex itself is beautiful with lots of open, grassy space for kids to run and a large pool with plenty of recliners and chairs for relaxing. Access to the beach is a very short walk from the condo, and like most communities in this area, has quite a few flights of stairs to descend the sea bluff to the beach. We were familiar with this area from previous stays and aware of the stairs, but for families with small kids and lots of stuff to take to the beach like ours, be prepared for multiple trips up and down the stairs. A nice option to avoid the cliff/stairs is the State Park located about one-half mile north where the sea bluff ends and allows for very easy entry to the beach.
The unit itself is nice and represented well in the photos. It’s not particularly new or updated, but everything worked and it had all the amenities we needed for our stay. The garage parking and storage was definitely a nice bonus. Like most homes we’ve rented in San Diego County this one does not have AC (as clearly identified in the listing), but the unit gets a nice breeze and has lots of fans. We spent every evening on the back deck which cools off nicely at sunset.
Our 2 week stay was very relaxing in this extremely quiet, family-friendly complex. Larry and Lynda are good hosts and were very attentive to the few questions we had during our stay. I can definitely recommend staying here.
Great spot for families! Had a great time exploring the area. House was plenty of room for us. Deck out back was great to sit and have morning coffee while staring at the ocean and hearing the waves.
Great stay! Very clean and owners attentive. Great location

Nice house, TERRIBLE experience with owners
My business partner and I stayed and worked from a nearby office for 6 weeks.
The owners initially insisted on moving the transaction off the VRBO site, while still charging the full rate to us, and also adding a surprise extra $100/week utilities bill. We eventually made the booking through VRBO after several phone calls to discuss, with extra utilities removed. The owners insisted on meeting in person the day before checkin to "know who would be staying in their house".
We discovered a flea infestation shortly into the booking and alerted the owners. The owners said they were busy and asked if I could book pest control myself, the owner Larry agreed to reimburse me for the ~$275 expense.
We extended our stay an additional 2 weeks and the owner once again insisted on moving the transaction off-site, to an upfront bank transaction. I told them we were interested but only at the same quoted rate and only processing through the platform.
We reached agreement but with a lot of trouble. One example being a chat where Lynda expressed how urgent payment was, but at the same time said she didn't want to take the time to log in to the site to request payment (which can only be done on the renter's end).
I later requested reimbursement for the pest control. Larry wrote that due to VRBO taking processing fees out of the rental payment for the extension they would not reimburse to compensate.
After some heated email discussion and me saying I would pursue the amount owing if needed the amount was settled. Unfortunate and totally unnecessary…
On leaving I neglected to ask if we could leave our luggage in the garage until our train time and we had the bikes at the office packing up past 11am checkout. Larry emailed at 12:08pm saying that the Sheriff had been called due to the house being “trashed”, the bikes being stolen and for us leaving our things on their property.
I rang Larry to discuss and asked why neither owner had rung or texted my phone to discuss. When asking for specifics about the house or potential damage he could only point to the sink being full of dirty dishes and cups.
I use third party sites for business travel as I value accommodation with ease of booking and low impact on time. I don't feel the owners care to abide by the system of the VRBO platform or understand it’s rules and benefits to both parties. This was a bad experience and I’m glad I managed to keep the transaction on-site or things might have ended up more worse.

Feedback is always helpful, but in the case of this reviewer, please take into account all the other reviews that have been written about our home and us. In 14 years, we have never had a negative review. At least he said it is a nice house and it really is a great home in a wonderful beach front community. It is a great place for responsible adults and their families.
We made the mistake of taking a chance on a young guy. He first contacted us off platform and had his relative check out our home. We met later with him and thought he would be responsible and trustworthy. He said he was having another associate live with him, but that turned out to be two associates. We would never have rented to 3 young guys and they proved out why. When one of his associates said he had some flea bites we responded immediately and allowed him to contract with a service to provide treatment (Fleas live outside and leaving doors open and leaving dirty dishes and food on the counter attracts them) He stayed an extra two weeks at our home but when he left, he left the home so dirty that our manager described it as the worst condition she has ever seen a rental left in. She even took a video of our home, showing the stained toilets in the bathrooms, all the used sheets and towels, every dish and cup left dirty in the sink, and worst of all, rotting food in the refrigerator. We had to delay the next guest from moving in and to have the cleaners do an extra shift just to clean up the mess they left. We withheld $125 from his security deposit to pay for the extra cleaning. He obviously didn't like that so he manipulated the system and wrote a review that he thought would penalize us with HomeAway. We have spoken with HomeAway and they have advised us on ways we can better protect ourselves.
Seabluff is a wonderful community for families and responsible adults. It sits above a beautiful beach at one of the great towns in he San Diego area. We are very proud of our home and of our experience with all of our guests.
Once again, please read the other reviews and we hope you will have the opportunity to enjoy our home.

Loved it here!
Spent a week here with our daughter and her friend. Loved the townhouse, it has everything you need and has a nice layout. The beach is great, I downloaded a tides app so we knew when high tide was coming in. The location is perfect, you can ride their bikes to Leucadia or Encinitas or it’s an easy drive. Both towns have great restaurants. I-5 is around the corner to get to San Diego. We recommend taking the 101 to go to LaJolla Cove and Torrey Pines State Park. Larry and Linda are great owners, we highly recommend renting this place, we are already planning next year’s trip.

Great location, very nice house
The condo was nice, clean and exactly what we expected. Would highly recommend. The 3 level made it difficult with small children. Just remember baby gates. No complaints and the owners were very friendly.

Perfection!HOuse, beach, pools and gardens
Staying at this house in Encinitas was an amazingly perfect experience. The house is located within a beautiful development on a bluff right above a long, wide beach and the Pacific. We walked on its lovely paths bordered by pretty gardens and stunning trees. The house has various succulent gardens outside, on the patio in planters and on their large deck facing West--- from which we saw beautiful sunsets.
It is very close to the two pools, though not so close that one hears sounds of people at the pool. It is also a very short walk to the stairs to the beach and the beach is FABULOUS! You could walk almost to Del Mar on it. And –speaking of closeness, it is a short ride to the famous Swami Garden in Encinitas and to Solano beach. Both towns, by the way, have fine restaurants – of all types – and inviting shops, too.
The house is lovely inside. Art pertinent to beach and sea abounds on the walls. The layout of the house is sensible –and the bedrooms seem soundproof. Talking and walking among people in the kitchen, dining room or living room is easy. The beds are firm; the showers good and everything is clean. A sunny kind of attitude permeates the house. Being inside it, can sometimes feel like being outside, too, because the glass sliding doors merge the inside with the outside. Both the master bedroom and the living room link by such doors to the large and roomy deck. The airiness, pleasant design of the house, comfortable furniture and tasteful art promote feeling good. How can one feel otherwise in such a lovely place in such a perfect setting?
It also has all the conveniences a person would want and for me, who likes to cook, every kitchen tool I needed was there and easy to find.
My husband and I plan to return as often as possible to this gem.

Great condo in Encinitas area near the beach
We had a wonderful stay at this comfortable beach condo. It had lovely ocean breezes and was nicely equipped with everything you need. We enjoyed daily walks on the beach and spent time at both the swimming pools. The towns of Encinitas and Leucadia have many great places to eat and places to shop. Would recommend to anyone!

Great Location!
We had a wonderful family vacation in Encinitas. The condo was clean and had plenty of room for our family of 5. The location is fantastic (short walk down a path to the beach and close proximity to good restaurants). The owners had all the equipment we needed (boogie boards, chairs, sand toys, beach towels). We would stay here again.

Summer Rental is Awesome
We stay at this property every summer. It is clean, a great location, the beach access is excellent, and the people are great. The owners always have everything ready and when we asked for extras (like a bike), they got it. Highly recommended.

About the host
Hosted by Lynda
We bought our home 15 years ago and absolutley love it. We first saw Seabluff walking down Carlsbad State Beach and wondered what those beautiful townhouses were all about. We utilize our home when we can and have started remodeling projects each year. We have remodeled the bathrooms and kitchen and have bought beds, TV and carpet. Seabluff really is a specially place, we think you will love it too.
Why they chose this property
This location is ideal for people who love the ocean. It has private steps to one of the nicest beaches in the San Diego area. Our home is on a quiet cul de sac and is very nicely furnished.
What makes this property unique
Walks on the beach, heated pool and spa, tennis courts, beautiful sunsets and safe-gated community
