Area 51 Suite at The Ore House Inn

Area 51 is a beautiful 1 bedroom alien and space themed suite located in downtown New Castle upstairs at The Ore House Inn. It has a full kitchen and dining area that is equipped with everything you need to prepare and serve your own meals. Our bathroom is stocked with toiletries, bath towels and pool towels for a visit to the various hot springs that are 10 minutes away. The bedroom has a queen sized bed, 55 inch T.V., expanded cable, DVD/Blue Ray, Atari and hi speed internet. We ask that pets not be left unattended unless they are in a crate. The hallways in our 130 year old building characterize New Castle's mining history. We offer discounts to Iron Mountain Hot Springs, Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park and ride Whitewater Rafting LLC. We have books, movies, and numerous alien themed games to play. There are 4 EV charging spots on the property with J1772 240 volt connectors call for details. We ask that pets be declared at time of booking and that they not be left unattended unless they are in a crate. We are just 1 block away from RFTA (Roaring Fork Transportation Authority) bus stop.

Impressive Location, Comfy Accommodations

Great communication before and during our stay! It was great to find somewhere dog friendly in the cute little downtown area of New Castle! We thought we'd spend more time in Glenwood Springs than we did - New Castle ended up having great food options, and lots of fun places to explore and walk around. We'll be back for sure, thanks for a lovely experience!

A fun, clean room and super service

I can't say enough good things about our stay. John is a terrific host and goes out of his way to make sure that everything is just the way you want it. The suite is large with a great kitchen (full-sized appliances). Everything was clean and tidy. The UFO fan light in the bedroom is amazing and there are all sorts of geeky "Area 51" style details, plenty of games, DVDs, etc. We are picky about beds and the mattress on this bed is one of the most comfortable we have encountered in any hotel, B&B, VRBO, etc. anywhere. This is a fun place, and has far more personality than anything you're going to encounter in Glenwood Springs. Worth a little extra driving.

The property said "renovated," but it was cheaply done. The theme of the room (Aliens) was tacky. very limited parking, and none for anything being towed. Nice location, if you want to be downtown near the 3-4 restaurants. Definitely not close to the Springs as the owner indicated to us. About 9 miles.

We had an amazing three weeks in New Castle, Colorado. The Ore House Inn was the perfect location for us, close to friends and family in the Rifle/Silt area & the fun attractions in Glenwood Springs. John and Cori are exceptional hosts. They often checked in to see if we needed anything. I liked the accommodations and the conveniences they have at the property, especially the coin machine in the laundry room. They also have a cart with a plethora of supplies that you may need during your stay. This was our first time staying here, but we would love to come back as many times as we travel to Colorado! 10/10!!!! Loved our trip and stay at this well kept building!

Good location, comfortable, convenient.
Balcony view - on side so no pool view
Sliding glass door looks out to drive and parking so there is 24-7 exposure to driveway activity.

Upstairs Rendezvous

We enjoyed dinner downstairs at the restaurant, went for a nice walk on a hiking trail nearby and had a nice evening in our room. A cozy enjoyable stay.

My other half and our dog stayed here for Christmas. It was all around awesome. The owner was great and helped us figure out which way to get there from CO Springs. The room was better than expected. We had an awesome time and will be back to see the other rooms! The restaurant downstairs is really good too. Thank you!

Great stay

Nice, comfortable unit with great amenities and was super clean for us! The Roku TV was convenient for us since it's what we use at home. The restaurant has delicious food with friendly and helpful staff. Big surprise bonus - there is a dog bathing room that is just across the hall from Area 51! Overall, we really liked our stay here and highly recommend!

Perfect for any art enthusiast

We were lucky enought to come a day early and was able to experience two rooms. One was the Iceberg Lounge and the other was Area 51. Both rooms had had great art work thru out A/C and full kitchens with eveythung you could need. Only conplaint is that we left shower stuff in the bathroom and my full size bottles of shampoo and body wash were thrown away and our luffa were left in the floor in the hallway infront of our new suite. Pretty gross. Had to go replace salon shampoo and all natural body wash in the middle of our vacation was a pain.

Great stay, well kept!

We only stayed for one evening but the apartment was very well kept and incredibly clever. The check-in process was a breeze, John was very COVID aware (which we appreciated, and we really enjoyed the theme of the room. We'll definitely stay again if we are back in New Castle!

Great owners and fun themes

The property owners are really nice and super helpful. The unique themes make the stay fun! It is in an old building so the walls/windows are a bit thin so you can hear a lot. We turned on the fan which really helped with the noise. Overall a great stay!

We decided to rent one of John's VRBO units for a long weekend while we were visiting Glenwood Springs. We very much enjoyed our stay. The owner was personable and accommodating. The food at the restaurant downstairs was great as well. 5 stars. Thanks for having us John.

The best!

This was by far one of the best properties to rent around the area. It was full of the aesthetic of an Area 51 themed room! We were amazed. The room was comfortable and we weren’t bothered. It had a restaurant underneath and everyone was super great! 10/10 would recommend! Thank you for allowing us the pleasure!
