With central A/C you can relax even on hte warmest days or open the lanai doorsto the sound of the crashing ocean waves on shore about 50 ft. from our lanai. The east Prince Kuhio Park bay side at Kuhio Shores has some of the most sought after condos on Kauai.

Located on the third floor, right on the bay, and close to Lawai Beach, Baby Beach and Poipu Beach. Elevator or stairs can be used for direct condo access.

When you’re ready for an adventure, it's steps to one of Kauai’s best snorkeling spots. We provide an ice cooler, beach chairs and boogie boards along with everything else you will need to enjoy your vacation.

The area is steeped in Hawaiian legend with Spouting Horn, a scenic blowhole, right down the street and Prince Kuhio Park right across the way.

Spend a day relaxing and take a swim at the famous Poipu Beach Park.

There are also many restaurant choices within walking distance, an oceanfront restaurant, The Beach House, is right next door. There are fabulous choices for delectable, fresh, local island food and shopping available at the beautiful shops at Kukui’ula, including sushi at the Dolphin, steaks and seafood at Merriman's and the best mai tai's Kauai has to offer, within a few minutes walk.

This condo will sleep two with a restful king size bed. This breathtaking unit faces East for enjoyment of the sunrise and trade winds that provide natural cooling with the option of running cold air conditioning if you desire. The sunset and surfers are steps away, around the back of the complex. The fully equipped kitchen includes a Keurig coffee maker, standard coffee maker, French press, many stainless pots and pans, stove/oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator. As well as all the utensils, in case you decide to cook selections from the nearby fresh fish market.

You might enjoy your coffee while relaxing on the lanai lounge chairs, watching the sea turtles swim in the bay.

The view is even better than the picture posted in the listing, the sound of the ocean soothing to the soul, and the turtles surfing the waves outside the balcony made for an amazing stay. Can’t recommend enough! Thank you, John!

Absolutely wonderful condo at Kuhio Shores! Exactly like the listing and super comfortable! The host was so kind when we needed an early check in. The AC works well through the whole house which is incredibly helpful! The view faces the sunrise and the turtles play in the ocean waves all day. The road is close by but only noticed a few times. Kitchen setup was great. Bathroom very clean! Short walk to baby beach or the snack truck and for romantic sunsets the Beach House restaurant. Also parakeets sleep in the palms! Easy parking lot. Couldn't hear the neighbors at all!

Perfect in Paradise

The property was in a great location for me and my wife. Great view of a small bay. Bobbing sea turtles and singing parakeets rounded out a great experience. Highly recommend this property.

Wow! What a wonderful stay! The unit is exactly as described. It’s extremely clean and the perfect about of space for 2 people. Probably one of the most well appointed rentals I’ve ever been in. And the knives were sharp! The owner is very responsive and ready to help make your stay comfortable and convenient. I couldn’t have asked for a better location. Once it gets dark the area is so quiet! We slept well! Restaurants, shopping, and a little market were within a few minutes drive. We could watch turtles in the little bay right out on the balcony. The sunsets were spectacular and unique every night. The staff we encountered were so friendly and personable. We didn’t want to leave! We look forward to returning in the not-too-distant future.

Our Second Stay

We had another wonderful stay at this beautiful place. Mahalo for sharing it with us. The redone kitchen looks great, and we appreciate the use of the beach chairs, umbrella, etc. Lots of time was also spent relaxing on the patio and watching the turtles swim by. It was a lovely place to be for Christmas.

The condo has a great sunrise view and is exceptionally well stocked with beach gear (boogie boards, snorkeling sets, etc.). A nice snorkeling spot is literally steps away. Koloa is relatively quiet but is convenient to all major attractions on the island. We would rent this property again in a heartbeat.

What a wonderful rental!!! The location offers spectacular views and is close to anything and everything we needed. The owner was fantastic to deal with! He answered every question in a timely manner and offered lots of great suggestions on things to do & places to eat. The condo was spotless and had every amenity needed, and then some.

Amazing place - great communication!

This is an amazing place to stay with views that have to be seen to be believed. Sit on the lanai and watch turtles in the water below (TONS of turtles here.) Great unit with A/C and the owner communicates all instructions so we’ll that everything is effortless on your vacation. Would definitely rent here again if it were just the two of us. If traveling with our 3 late teen kids we’d look for a 2nd unit here to try to be in this location.

Truly a Piece of Paradise

We had a wonderful time at John and Kathi’s place. The location is excellent for exploring the southern and western parts of Kauai. The sunrises, dinners and relaxing on the lanai overlooking the bay were fabulous, and we even saw sea turtles multiple times. The condo was well stocked with supplies, and the owners generously leave beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, etc. for use by renters. We would certainly stay here again when we return to Kauai. There were some communication issues as to how to check into the property. There is a new property manager and that may have been the issue. This was a small issue and taken care of promptly. The condo and view were beautiful and the location was ideal for us. Would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our time at John and Cathy's condo. The unit was well maintained and John kept in touch with us all during our travels to make sure everything was going all right. We also rented our car from him and he made sure that we knew exactly where it was parked. He also gave us his cell phone number in case we had an emergency or any questions. We could not have asked for a better host. We highly recommend booking John and Cathy's property.

Million dollar view

The view alone makes this place top notch. We spent more time than usual sitting in the living room looking out the bank of windows. Communication with the owner was good and the photos and description are accurate. The rental has more supplies than any we ever experienced. Incredible thought went into stocking spices, suntan lotion, bug spray, etc. We brought most of our own out of habit, but felt the owners really understand traveler’s needs. Especially appreciated was being able to stay beyond the check out time because we had a 5:00pm flight and the next guests were not arriving until the following day!!

Guest centric rental

The hosts genuinely thought about the guest experience and throughout the rental it shows. From the very beginning they were responsive and easy to work with. The location is absolutely perfect to all the southern sights of the island and a short drive (25 mins) to the airport and east towns (35 mins) Breathtaking views all throughout the day from the lanai and the surrounding property. A 3-5 minute drive to a shopping center with stores and restaurants to shop at or the nearby old Koloa town is just a few minutes further. The rental has everything you may need while away. Kitchen was stocked with supplies to cook a meal, store leftovers or grill using the 2 grills at the property. A closet full of beach gear for use was very helpful especially when traveling. A desk space and office supplies for those who may need to work while away. There was even luggage scale and packaging tape for all those souvenirs to bring back. It’s a home away from home with all the amenities one may need while traveling. The sunrises, on property oceanfront sunset views, location, comfortable and thoughtful accommodations makes this rental a top choice. Don’t second guess, if you see availability.. book it.

So disappointed

My year long dreams of relaxing on a peaceful, oceanfront lanai in Kauai were dashed when I walked in the unit and found it faces a very busy coastal road within a stones throw of the unit. This road is nowhere to be seen in the photographs but takes up 30% of the view. All day and evening we were subjected to gunning motorcycles, pickups booming reggae beat, and just general high usage due to the restaurants in the area. Sitting outside for a peaceful dinner was impossible due to the noise and the headlights shining onto the dining table. We were looking forward to preparing our own meals only to find the pots and pans were rusted with most of the nonstick coating flaking off. I notified the owner and he said he could have replacements for me the day before we were to leave (we were booked for a week). When we tried to check our email it wouldn’t load. Another notification to the owner revealed he knew about the problem with the internet carrier and it would be repaired in 5 days after our arrival but had neglected to tell us. At that point he offered for us to leave and not have to pay cancellation fee. Being the absolute least he could have offered we were still stuck with additional booking and cleaning fees for our new unit in Kapa’a and we wasted 2 days of our precious vacation arranging for new accommodations and then having to pack up and move.

Kauai vacation

My husband and I stayed at this property for four nights. It is a great place to kick back and relax. The building was very clean and quiet.We had a slight problem upon check in but it was resolved quickly. The owner was very responsive in taking care of the issue and treated us to dinner for the inconvenience. The condo was very clean. The kitchen well appointed with modern appliances, cookery and dishes. The best feature is the location. We enjoyed coffee on the terrace while watching the sunrise on the water. On the opposite side of the building you can watch the spectacular sunsets. The Beach House restaurant is within walking distance and a great place for sunset dinner/cocktails.We took advantage of the beach chairs, umbrella and towels that were provide. We mostly went to Poipu Beach. You can snorkel, surf and swim there. We spotted several sea turtles and seals there too.There are some small shopping centers (3 within 2 miles) with restaurants, shops and a couple of small grocery stores. The larger grocery store are approx 15-20 drive from there.I would recommend staying here if you’d like to relax, kick back and enjoy a beautiful view!

Poipu Condo

Kuhio Shores complex was older and less maintained than we had hoped. Condominium itself had recently updated kitchen that had everything needed for a stay which was nice. Balcony overlooked inlet on one side and busy road to the left. Easy check in process and owner had great communication. Upon arrival noticed couch and loveseat were quite stained and dirty looking- owner responded assuring he would put that on list to get cleaned .There was an insect issue- notified owner and he said he would pass on for additional services . Overall this wasn’t the area/ place we think we will be returning to- we enjoy the North shore more. We did however appreciate owners timely responses.

The sound of the surf and the trade winds waft through the condo when the lanai doors are open. Staying at our condo comes with the added benefit of discounted car rental reserved exclusively for our guests. There is an additional charge for the rental car.
