One block from the Spur Road and bike path, you are 10 minutes from downtown Talkeetna. You are 4minutes from grocery store, gas station and the Parks Highway.
Enjoy a cup of morning coffee out on the expansive two-tier, lake view deck. Imagine waking to the songs of loons outside your window.
Launch our kayak, rowboat or canoe from our marsh walk and dock on Sunshine Lake as you paddle among loons, wild ducks, terns, sandhill cranes, and eagles. In 2024 we added a two sets of stair steps to make getting to dock easy.
Grill a meal with friends and family out on the deck. Then, gather by the lakeside fire ring to share stories and roast s’mores. You might even catch an occasional wandering moose or bear swimming across the lake.
At the end of the day, retreat back to the deck and relax after a day of hiking, biking, flightseeing, or fishing. Feel the tension release as you ease into your memory foam topped bed.
Sitting at the confluence of the Talkeetna, Susitna, and Chulitna Rivers, Talkeetna is a beautiful haven resting in the shadow of Denali. Whether you’re driving, riding the train, or flying up for a perfect weekend or extended stay, we welcome you to enjoy the views, wildlife, and tranquility at our lakefront home.
This beautifully accommodated custom-built lakehouse offers a comfortable and eclectic mix of modern, Alaskan, and antique décor. Designed with friends and family in mind, the spacious two-story open floor plan offers sweeping views of east Sunshine Lake.
There are hand-stained concrete floors throughout the home. On the first floor, you’ll find a fully stocked kitchen with stainless steel appliances. The living room has a leather sofa, recliner, rocker, and an oversized chair. There’s a large, oversized ceiling fan near the exposed wooden beam. There is a first-floor private bedroom with a queen bed and a two-inch memory foam topper, a luxurious down comforter, linens, and a ceiling fan. The ensuite bathroom hosts a shower, a concrete counter, and a copper sink. Down the hall is an additional half bath.
The hand-milled birch staircase leads to the second-floor loft gathering space with an Apple TV, HD screen, and a sofa bed. There’s a private master bedroom with a new Casper king bed, luxurious down comforter, linens, and a ceiling fan. The ensuite bathroom has a six-foot oversized Jacuzzi tub, separate shower, concrete counter, and a double copper sink.
The owners are always close by if needed.

About the host
Hosted by owner/property manager

My summers are split between working as a river boat Captain, and operator of Talkeetna Fly Fishing Expeditions. We also own 4 Sprinter vans that we built and rent during the summer. As the winter sets in most of my time is spent writing for multiple national publications and websites.
What makes this property unique
We are lucky to own a peace of calm on the edge of the wilderness. We live close enough to town for you to experience our wonderful quirky community, yet far enough away to enjoy a beautiful wild lake.
