Great communication, super friendly hosts! The view is amazing the islands are lovely to kayak to.It feels like a cozy home and not a sterile hotel.Loved our stay!
The views from the porch were breathtaking. We had 4 adults and had plenty of room. The private beach was great and was able to float in the water. We used the kayaks to explore the sandbar. Getting to the house from Queens Hwy was a bit rough but I rented a jeep based on a prior review and had no issues. The house had everything we needed and truly enjoyed our stay.
We had a wonderful time staying in the upstairs apartment during our trip to Exuma! The apartment is exactly as advertised and is beautiful inside and out. The view of the flats is amazing, and all of the amenities make it feel like home. Our hosts were so responsive, and although they weren't able to meet us in person, their caretaker was so helpful and always available. Jean Louis and Jackie, thank you so very much for sharing your Exuma home with us! We hope to be back to visit again soon!
House is adorable and located on a beautiful stretch of water. Best is balcony stretching entire back of house. Easy access to rest of island. Would definitely return.
Jean-Louis and Jackie have a beautiful beach paradise waiting for you. If you are searching for the most beautiful sunrise and sunsets, you found them. Their attention to detail is amazing, property is immaculate and has all the amenities anyone could need. I will definitely return!!
My husband and two daughters just returned from Exuma and we had a fantastic time! The house was just lovely and immaculate inside! It was exactly as depicted in the pictures. The view was beautiful and the location on the flats very peaceful. The owners were extremely helpful, prompt to answer any questions, and provided a lot of information about the island prior to us arriving. We will definitely book there again when returning to Exuma!
My wife and I and our 9 year old stayed for a week, with my parents staying in the downstairs apartment. The vacation was perfect. Jean-Louis was away, but Jackie was the perfect hostess. We had everything we needed for a beach vacation, including beach chairs, coolers, etc. The house is very clean and modern. We particularly enjoyed hanging out on the balcony, eating dinner and watching spectacular sunsets. Rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle and maneuver the island roads slowly. We would definitely recommend this property.
We had an absolutely beautiful time! This little slice of heaven is just as described. Jacqueline and Jean Louis are excellent hosts and made our stay extra special. Excellent communication and tips to make our trip enjoyable including maximizing our time and helping us to secure an additional day of diving with Exuma Divers.
The views, amenities, kayaks and star gazing made it spectacular!
We comfortably fit in the 2 bedroom suite accommodation on the send floor, but would consider coming back with the rest of our kids and renting the adorable lower unit with private patio and screened porch and having the entire house.
Conveniently located mid island to accommodate activities up and down the island from the Pig swimming up north down to little Exuma south.
We can’t wait to go back.
This was our first trip to Exuma and we absolutely fell in love! The apartment was perfect for our family of three! Upon arrival, Jean and Claudia immediately made us feel welcome and at home! The apartment was very clean and smelled so nice! They even had fresh fruit and preserves waiting for us in the refrigerator! The apartment was well stocked with kitchen necessities, bathroom necessities and bug spray! They also had plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, floats, etc for us to use! The beach in front of the apartment is beautiful and easy to access. They have kayaks that we enjoyed using to go out to the sandbar! The apartment has breathtaking views of the water! We loved being able to sit in our bed, drink coffee and see the gorgeous views! We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment and loved getting to meet Jean and Claudia! We highly recommend this beautiful place!
We were lucky enough to stay a week at Bonefish Bella Vista. The apartment is lovely and well stocked. We especially appreciated the garage downstairs with all of the goodies for a day at the beach. Chairs, umbrellas, coolers, floats, plenty of kayaks… anything you could need/want! Jean Louis and Jackie were perfect hosts. They were staying in the downstairs apartment and it was comforting to have them close by in case we needed anything.
The views from the house were beautiful, and I miss waking up to the gorgeous blue water right outside my patio door.
The road(s) to the house could be an adventure, just take it slow and you’ll be okay. We had a Nissan Cube and managed just fine.
This was our third time to Exuma…and I can’t wait to go back! Absolute paradise!
Jacqueline and Jean-Louis were great hosts, greeting us in person upon arrival and bidding us safe travels upon departure. They were more than happy to help out in any way they could, with information and contacts (like going to Hoopers Bay to find turtles - and we did!), or addressing the hiccups of island life (e.g. waking up to a flat tire on the rental car). The property speaks for itself and the views are amazing - there is nothing like the turquoise waters of the Exumas! The kayaks they provided allowed us to explore the cays a couple of kilometers offshore (Mosquito Cay was awesome, with a hidden gem of a beach on the southside, and we even saw a couple of young sharks). We found the property to be a great base from which to explore Little/Great Exuma, from the beautiful Tropic of Cancer Beach in the south to Exuma Point Beach in the north. Plans for a future trip are already underway! Thanks Jacqueline and Jean-Louis!
There were many things that we loved about this property & the apartment. The owners & their manager, Lott, are very communicative, generous & responsive. Our flight home was delayed & we were offered a free night if we needed somewhere to stay. Amazing! Lott came & fixed the WIFI when it stopped working one day. We loved the deck that looked out onto the water. We had our coffees on the deck in the morning & our cocktails at night until the mosquitoes came out. We went kayaking to the nearby Blue Hole although it was too rough to snorkel. My son took the kayak out most days & once to Mosquito Cay across the sand flats. We very much appreciated having kayaks available to paddle around in. We enjoyed the little beach out front & climbing on the rocks to look down at some small fish in the shadows. We very much appreciated the beach towels, beach chairs & the snorkels that were available to us. The apartment itself has some "tired" elements like the stove & the dishwasher which leaks. The screen doors need repair. Others have mentioned the water pressure in the showers which was, at times, a trickle. The good news is that all the appliances worked & we were able to shower & cook & enjoy our stay. The location is good for exploring Big & Little Exuma beaches. We rented a boat at Minn's & had an amazing day visiting Stocking Island. Exuma is a very laid back island which has maybe the most beautiful colours of blue water on earth! Thank you for this experience & your hospitality!
We were not disappointed in this glorious view. The apt is perfect for 2 couples traveling together. The split plan offers the perfect amount of privacy. Jean-Louis and Jaqueline are very kind hosts. As said by previous guests, the road coming into the property is horrendous. You must go 5 mph through ruts and potholes. However, it lands you in the most beautiful spot. The apt has a large welcoming terrace that we could not use in the evening due to the insects. I would suggest screening it in to allow full use of the terrace. Also there is a water pressure issue in the MBR on-suite that needs to be addressed. This did not dampen our enjoyment of the property. Just remember, this is not a commercial island. We brought provisions with us. There is not a convenience store on every corner and everything shuts down for holidays. There were 3 days that we could not find a loaf of bread anywhere. But that is part of the charm of this place. Just be prepared and you will have a wonderful experience.
We spent our family Christmas and New Years at Bonefish Bella Vista and had a wonderful stay! The spot is away from the downtown of Georgetown but a quick 15 minute drive to find what you need. We arrived a little early so the house was still being cleaned and once we go inside it was lovely. The view is amazing - you can see both the sunrise and sunset over the flats and beautiful water! The deck was amazing to sip coffee and wine, depending on the time of day. All necessities and then some were available for our stay (extra kitchen supplies, kayaks, snorkels, floats, etc). We LOVED how the beachfront was super accessible and had the only 'cove' area protected by large rocks. This made for great and easy floating in the sunshine without any current or waves. The location is very quiet with very minimal motorized boats.
The island is quiet and not very touristy which is super appealing. It was tough coming in on a holiday but Jean Louis and Jackie were so helpful when we arrived - pointing out not only all the house had to offer but where to get supplies. They made a fantastic recommendation for fish in town and even helped get reservations for our New Years Eve! Great tips for places to explore and the island itself. They were there if we needed them but gave us space as well to enjoy our time. It was exactly what we needed for our vacation! Thank you Jean Louis and Jackie! We will be back!
This property is very special. Our hosts created a wonderful spot for the perfect getaway. The house has everything you could need and is literally situated right on the water. It's west facing so you are treated to a spectacular sunset every evening. Our hosts were a wealth of great information with suggestions of places to eat and spots to visit. They warmly greeted us upon arrival and walked us through the features of the home. They had even picked up a few supplies for us knowing that the grocery store would be closed when we arrived. We also found that this home had a great location on Exuma as it was an easy trip to Georgetown which was where we picked up our boat rental (we rented a 17 ft Whaler for three days from Minn's which we would highly recommend). It is also an easy ride down to Little Exuma where you can find beautiful beaches and fun places to eat. We suggest renting a jeep as some of the roads off the main highway were a bit rugged.
Because our place was so lovely and the sunsets were so nice, we picked up dinner a few nights to eat on the veranda. Overall, we did find dining out to be expensive which is also why we enjoyed bringing food in from the fish fry or Sonia's (in Georgetown). The portions everywhere are quite generous so one meal often turned into two or three meals:). It was also very quiet at night and the lack of ambient light made the star gazing really amazing. A truly special place!
We cannot thank our hosts enough for their warmth and caring!
So if you want a sandals experience go have it. But for my husband and our best friends (another couple) we loved the serenity of the quieter side of Exuma, the insane view right off the huge back porch, swimming and fishing just feet from where we sleep, a full kitchen, lots of room, a gracious and attentive lovely French host, and the bluest water I’ve ever seen. Do you want to stay in a complex with lots of people on the beach? Well this isn’t your place. Do you want quiet blue waters, fish jumping, the sounds of the water lapping against the shore, and so much beauty it makes you want to cry? Well come stay here. Ps. Yes the the road is full of potholes on the way over. Most of that southern side of the island is like that. Drive slowly, avoid the potholes, don’t drive like an imbecile and you and your car will be just fine. Rent a car. Go to little Exuma. Eat at Santanna’s. Go to Tropic of Cancer beach. Rent a boat for a few days from browns marine (practically across the street) and explore Elizabeth harbor. Be adventurous. Eat with the locals. And fall into your comfortable bed with a smile on your face and a little too much sun on your shoulders. Best couples trip we’ve ever been on. Hands down. We will be back.
Wow! What a beautiful stay in Exuma! Jean Louis and Jackie were such wonderful hosts and just beautiful people. Allow them to give you information on where to go and things to see because they are very helpful.
The moment you walk into the house you are greeted by the gorgeous sea view. It’s breathtaking and you’ll never tire of it. The porch is covered and runs the entire length of the house and it is so nice for relaxing with morning coffee or evening cocktails! The beds are very comfortable and sweetly decorated. The kitchen has all of the basics for cooking a meal, which we did a lot of during our stay. Just an overall great vacation home.
The drive to Georgetown is quick…about 10 minutes. The road coming into the house is pretty bumpy, so I highly recommend a jeep or SUV. Many roads in Exuma are bumpy, so it will come in handy. Drive to Little Exuma is about 25 minutes. We drove to several beaches and explored. We particularly loved Tropic of Cancer, Pretty Molly, and Hooper’s Bay. Having said all of that, you’ll love the access to water right outside your door. The hosts provide life vests, snorkeling gear, and kayaks. We kayaked to the flats a couple of times and it’s a cool experience. The water is very calm. Our little boy (5) enjoyed playing on the sand with provided sand toys and snorkeling around the rocks in the water.
This is such a magical place! Jean Louis and Jackie made it even more special. Thank you!!!!
Everything is like the photos
A beach just for you, a very comfortable house with everything you need
And Jackie and Jean Louis are so pleasant and helpful : Thank you so much you made our holidays unforgetable
Merci ce fut un séjour magnifique dans votre maison décorée avec soin lovée dans un camaïeu de bleus.
My family and I spent a week at the property. We arrived on Sunday after 6:00pm and Jean-Louie and Jacqueline were kind enough to reach out in advance to offer to get some food items so we could have something Monday morning before the stores opened. They were also great on Sunday night when we got ourselves turned around on the roads on the way to the apartment. The property itself was perfect for my family of four. The private beach was beautiful and we used it several times. My 11 yo loved snorkeling by the rocks 15 feet offshore where there were colorful fish living right there. We kayaked to the bonefish flats one evening, easy and fun for all four of us. The view is fantastic all day long. The hosts have a great set up for guests and were so informative and sweet. It really helped to have the packet of information about the island that they sent in advance of our stay. The location is really close to all the beaches we wanted to see and wonderful restaurants. It was really a vacation of a lifetime for us!
Jean-Louis and Jackie's property is gorgeous and is exactly as pictured in the photos. The view from the balcony is breathtaking.
Jean-Louis and Jackie went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Checking in to see if we needed anything or to offer up suggestions for activities on the island.
They provide everything you could need. Snorkeling gear, beach towels, coolers, beach toys and chairs. It was all much appreciated.
Thanks again Jean-Louis and Jackie. We hope to return in the future!
We really enjoyed out stay on the property. It was close to everything, yet private enough to feel as if we had the whole island to ourselves. Monica was there to greet us and made our entire stay perfect. The house was amazing and had everthing we needed. We can’t wait to stay again.
Thank you Jacqueline and John-Louis for sharing your beautiful home (as well as beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, kayaks, etc)!! The location is perfectly central to all we wanted to do on the Island - Tropic of Cancer, Cocoplum Beach, Hoopers Bay, renting a boat in Georgetown. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the top deck - it’s unbelievably beautiful! It was great having the hosts next door as a resource and we didn’t hear the guests downstairs at all. We look forward to coming back to this house and Exuma. Thanks again!
Jean-Louis and Jackie were great hosts and the property was fantastic! You are literally steps away from the ocean and there is a huge sandbar about 100 feet out.
They have chairs, an umbrella, life vests, kayaks, pool floats, snorkeling gear, coolers: everything you need for a day in the beach!
The little cove in front of the house was perfect for our 2 year old; not too choppy and just the right height at low tide.
We enjoyed having the hosts next door because it was our first time in the Bahamas. It was nice to say hello to them and get food recommendations.
The reviews you read here are 100% accurate. The hosts go out of their way to make everything seamless without being overbearing. Private location, great views, comfortable accommodations, and a well-stocked kitchen just to mention a few things. You feel like you have an advocate in Jean Louis and Jackie while on Exuma. Speaking of Exuma, we loved it. The people are very friendly and helpful. Be sure and visit Tropic of Cancer beach; it's exceptional and probably the prettiest I've ever seen. Thanks again Jean Louis and Jackie!
