The space worked well for us. The location was perfect and the amount of space was good. We tried to leave everything as we found it or better. But, the attic room was not swept or vacuumed. Handrail was loose at top of main stair case. Some of the dishes and glasses in the cabinets were dirty. There is a very soft spot in the kitchen floor on the coffee maker side that should be attended to.
A nice big home located in the nicest part of town near the Taconic Inn and The Equinox Hotel. Big kitchen and living room. Very comfy. User friendly. Would do again.
The home has the character of 1850 with comforts and conveniences of today. The kitchen is spacious and well-stocked. The family room has seating for all and a wonderful fireplace. Enjoy!
This stay was a mixed bag for us. The location is great with ability to walk to restaurants and shops. The house itself is huge and has a lot of character (think Victorian charm) which we did enjoy. The overall cleanliness of the house was not what I would expect (crumbs in one of the beds, the shower mats were dirty, etc). This place would have gotten 5 stars otherwise.
We had a wonderful stay at this house for a recent wedding at the Equinox. The house was the perfect place to stay with friends and have the luxury of being at home with two other couples. The house was surprisingly large with a great communal kitchen where we spent most of our time for meals, drinks, and visiting. The bedrooms were cute and clean with plenty of bathrooms down and upstairs. It sits on a quiet street at the foot of Mt. Equinox and is very conveniently located next to the Equinox Inn and easy walks to shopping. I highly recommend staying here! Enjoy!!!!
This house is right next door to the Equinox Hotel and Barr and Burton academy. The photos accurately represent the home. The owner was very responsive to the various issues we had. The house is large. It has a nice backyard and deck.
The house is on the shabby side for two 70 year old grandparents who are on the fussy side. I would prefer that the old porch furniture be removed than tossed in a stack in the back yard. We had a set of maintenance issues, lack of screens for 2 of the master bedroom windows, issue with a circuit breaker, etc.
Memorial Day is a great time to be in Vermont. This just was not the house for us.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Old, Over Depreciated Home
Unlikely the owner has been on property for some time. I have photos if interested that include:
1. Chipping paint from water leaks
2. No smoke detectors but base with wires on walls
3. Broken large TV
4. Leather couch smelled of urine
5. Home smelled of mold because of wet basement
6. Excessive sagging of floor in kitchen
7. Dilapidated front porch entrance
8. Unkept exterior grounds.
Our friends, my spouse and I moved to a hotel for our 4 night experience and the owner returned the $1,000 base fee thankfully.
This home has historical charm yet needs TLC based upon our last rental experience which was all positive.
Enjoyable two day stay with family. House is located in prime area for enjoying Manchester. Attended wedding at Equinox Inn, we were able to walk to and from the venue for wedding events. This home is very large with plenty of spaces for hanging out with friends and family. Large living room with comfortable couch for watching baseball and football as we did in between wedding activities. Foosball and ping pong rounded out the 2 hours of down time in between the ceremony and cocktail hour. Kitchen is large and welcoming. Spacious island to gather around for preparing and enjoying breakfast. Plenty of bedrooms to accommodate a large group. If you have time, there are rockers on the front porch beckoning you to sit and relax, and in warmer weather a large back deck with plenty of seating. Check in and check out was very simple and the host is very easy to communicate with as well as responsive. Would highly recommend a stay here if you are traveling to Manchester! Thank you George for opening your home to us!
I got this place for my family to stay at for the weekend of my son's BBA graduation. The location could not have been better, and it was a perfect house to have a few friends over to celebrate after the big event. Everything was perfect. It's a very cool, old house. Communication was great. Thanks so much for this! It was an unforgettable weekend, in part thanks to you!
We had 8 people in the house for a wonderful wedding weekend! The location in the village is walking distance to the center, which was perfect for shopping, eating and local hikes (Equinox Pond). The deck and yard were bigger than expected. We hung out there all weekend. The host was accessible and helpful. My extended family can’t wait for their next trip to Manchester. A beautiful late August weekend is hard to beat!
Several family members shared this property while in Manchester for a family wedding. Location was absolutely perfect for our activities and the house provided the “home” we needed over the course of several days. Owner/Property manager were responsive to all questions prior to arriving and we had no issues while there!
This is a great, spacious house in the town of Manchester. The house was clean and check in was made easy. It’s 15 minutes to Bromley and 25 minutes to Stratton. We really enjoyed our stay!
The home is massive, old but well taken care of. It was clean and ready for us to enjoy it and our stay. Very close to everything in town, restaurants, museums, shopping or just plain walking! Would definitely choose this home again!!
We had a wonderful weekend staying at this property. The location was amazing for the wedding we were attending at the Equinox and also for hiking and other outdoor activities.

Why they chose this property
My wife chose property......as she wanted to stay close to civilization instead of the wilderness of Vermont. It is central to everything. She also fell in love with the kitchen!!!
