We absolutely loved our stay at the Humming Bird Cottage! It was well stocked with everything we needed. Communication with the owner made things easy. This place offers a quiet and peaceful place which we needed as our lives are busy. Loved our experience here and hope we can book next year when we come back to Colorado. Ty for being great hosts and for providing us a great place to stay.

Nancy and her father were excellent guests. They were very respectful of the cottage and left it spotless. I will always welcome them back.
This was a great place. It had one of the best stocked kitchens we had seen for this to rental. Mark and Angela were great host. This was a nice quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but close enough to make things easy to do. It was very clean and well maintained. I would definitely stay here again.
Cottage is charming. Has every amenity imaginable. Peaceful. Private. Secure. Fell in love with Colorado Springs and there’s so much to do. Our host Mark. was readily available if needed. We extremely enjoyed our stay there. And an added perk is it’s handicap accessible as I said a charming cottage a must see to enjoy.

Patti and her companion were wonderful guests. They left the property in great condition. I hope to see them again.
This little cottage was immaculate and silent, away from the road, with stunning sunrises across the meadow, complete with deer one morning. Mark was attentive. I can’t imagine any other amenity that would have improved my stay. I will definitely stay here again.

Chalyce was an excellent guest. Her communication was also stellar. The house was clean when she checked out. Chalyce is welcome back anytime.
We so enjoyed our stay. Comfortable and convenient for our visits to children and grandchildren in the CO Springs area. A respite at the end of the day to relax.
We stayed at this property a handful of years ago. When we decided to visit Colorado Springs again this summer, we were excited to find the cottage was available. Mark and Angela are fabulous hosts and there added touches are much appreciated and highly valued.

Graham and Kelly along with their 3 kids stayed for a week at our cottage, this was their second stay with us.
They took exceptional care of the cottage and even watered the flower pots and garden while we were away. It is very refreshing to have guests take such great care of your belongings, making sure to put things back where they found them and to leave the space so neat and tidy.
It was a pleasure to host the entire family and we would love to have them stay again.
The Hummingbird Guest Cottage was perfect for the 3 of us for our 5 night stay while attending Parents Weekend at USAFA. The cottage was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the hosts, Mark & Angela were quick to respond to messages and very friendly. We enjoyed seeing deer and wild turkey on the property as well. Would stay there again!
Lois and here family were excellent guests. They followed all the house rule’s and left the property nice and clean. Would love to have them back again sometime.
Hummingbird Cottage at Black Forest Ranch was awesome - more than we could have hoped for! Thanks Mark and Angela. You were excellent hosts.

Hi Judy and Fred,
We thoroughly enjoyed having you guys, your son and daughter-in-law stay in the cottage. I hope we were able to make the event even more joyful with and quiet and peaceful surrounding.
Happiest wishes for peace, love and posterity for the newly wedded couple. 🥳🥳🥰🤗😊
Charming, rustic cottage - close to town but felt we were deep in the country - very peaceful! Loved seeing the deer & hummingbirds on the property. Owners were very pleasant & easy to get along with. Great place to spend our down time while we were not attending wedding events or sightseeing.

What a pleasure it was to host you all at our cottage. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay with us. I also want to give you my appreciation and thanks that the cottage was left in excellent condition. It’s rare to have guests take the time to make sure items are put away and tidy up before they leave. When they do, I always let them know how much we appreciate it.
We hope that you will make another trip to see us in the future. Until then, stay healthy, safe and especially stay happy!!
We had a wonderful stay. We had everything we needed. It was just outside of town on the main house property and was so quiet and safe. We were 15-20 min drive to everything we wanted to see and a Walmart close by for groceries. The house had everything we needed. We had a wonder stay!

Mandy,
We are so glad you and your family chose to stay here. We appreciate the awesome review. Come stay again if your ever in Colorado again!!
Wonderful retreat on the southern edge of the Black Forest area of Colorado Springs. We stayed for 34 days, all of June and first days of July. So restful to get away from the busy traffic in most of the area. We have family that live nearby in Meridian Ranch and it was a pretty drive on country roads to go visit them.
Mark and Angela were wonderful hosts. We arrived to a spotless cottage that was more than welcoming. The house was exactly as it was described which made things so much less stressful when traveling with young children. The amenities were perfect with all details well thought out. Definitely enjoyed our stay, thank you again so much!
It was a perfect week. The house was clean and cozy. The property was beautiful and quiet. The kitchen was well equipped. The hosts were pleasant and friendly. It was all we could have asked for and more. Thank you so much for everything.
Outstanding! Loved every inch of this cottage; so well-decorated; so welcoming. Super clean! Would love to stay here again and again. Luxurious linens; plush bath towels; specialty bathroom soaps; a variety of condiments so you don't have to buy a full jar or bottle that you'll never use up. And the hosts were very responsive and helpful. This is the place to stay when visiting Colorado Springs and nearby towns!!
The cottage felt like home the moment we walked in and the property is beautiful. We had mountains views and saw all kinds of birds and wildlife right outside our window every day! The property is very private and quiet.
The hosts were amazing. They were very welcoming and they had everything we needed for our stay. From toiletries to luxury towels, kitchen essentials and a welcome basket, everything was perfect.
We would 100% recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a getaway in Colorado Springs.
Very clean and well decorated. We did have a hard time with altitude sickness. Where we live we are at 656’ above sea level and in 2 days we were in a cottage at 7,320 plus feet. My wife and I are in our early 70’s and, after arriving on a Monday, we did not start to come around until Friday and were never clear of all the symptoms for the two weeks of our stay. On several days we had to drive to the south of Colorado Springs and a little beyond to reach an atmosphere where we could spend several hours breathing better at 5300ft. Black Bear Restaurant in Fountain, CO. Great place to eat. Bring a big appetite. My wife and I are spoiled by the much larger open air concept houses located in the Phoenix, AZ area which we are able to rent at about the same price. Liked the kitchen and the living room and became used to the bedrooms and baths. My wife is diabetic with some neuropathy and loses depth perception somewhat in the dark. So, the little unexpected downhill section in the minuscule hallway transitioning from the bed/bath area to the living room/kitchen/dining area was a problem for us during our stay. Had to leave a light on during the night for the times she needed to go to the kitchen during the night. All in all, not a bad little place. The altitude transition was the main problem. I was a very vocal, monumental grouch from Monday until Friday afternoon while my wife suffered in silence. Just be prepared for the altitude.

I’m sorry you had a rough time adjusting to the altitude. The floor you mentioned does have a slight tilt however the cottage was built in 1919 then was renovated for my mother who lived there for years until the age of 92. I haven’t had any guests in the past have the difficulties your wife experienced. Thank you for staying at the hummingbird cottage.
Beautiful little cottage, with enough room for 4. Very clean and well kept. The grounds were beautiful as well. Lots of birds, evidence of deer. The owners were responsive and easy to contact. The only not so positive issue was the water pressure in the kitchen. Owners definitely tried to repair but could not during our stay. We made do, and had a wonderful time.
Plan was for Son & Granddaughter to stay with wife & I. I ended up being hospitalized with heart attack $ steak. Missed the whole week. Son, Daughter & 2 granddaughters stayed in our place. Between airfare, rental car & VRBO non-refundable we lost out on $3k. Family thoroughly enjoyed their stay. Probably never get another chance with our aging & increasing health issues we will never get to experience this wonderful property.
