Our wonderful log home has all modern amenities one could ever need.

Snowmobiling trails are within 1/4 mile of the home. We are at the foot of Lions Head, Two Top, Madison Loop Trails, and Yellowstone Park or Island Park is a 15 minute ride. With over 500 miles of groomed snowmobile trails outside of Yellowstone National Park, this area is truly a snowmobilers favorite! The area is also home to cross country/nordic skiing. You can ski on our world famous Rendezvous Ski Trails groomed ski park, offering over 35 Kilometers of winding groomed trails that meander through the pristine Gallatin National Forest. Fifty miles north to Big Sky, MT, the best of Rocky Mountain downhill skiing is offered at two different resorts: Big Sky and Moonlight Basin. Snowshoeing is another winter activity you can do right out your front door through the forest!

West Yellowstone is located in the heart of fly-fishing country. Several of the most fabled streams and rivers in the world are within a five to sixty mile radius of the town, including the Madison River, Gallatin River, Yellowstone River, and Henry's Fork of the Snake River. High quality lake fishing is also available on Hebgen Lake and Quake Lake, Henry's Lake and Island Park Reservoir. All are a short drive from the vacation home.

We are immediately adjacent (within 1/4 mile) to the Gallatin National Forest and only 2 miles from lake fishing. Here you'll find Hebgen Lake at the South Fork of the Madison River with a public boat launch and dock for your use.

All of our guests find out very quickly just how handy it is to be very close to all activities; Hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, bird watching, cross country/nordic skiing, snowmobiling, snow shoeing, and of course Yellowstone National Park, which only 10 minutes away. River rafting on the Gallatin River is a great way to cool down on a hot summer day. Try a full or half day rafting adventure along the lower section of the river with lots of rapids. Horseback riding can be enjoyed at the Diamond P Ranch, located 2 miles from the home. Other outfitters can take your party into the back country of Yellowstone Park, or the surrounding National Forest Service land. Elaborate ropes course for young and old located right in town.

Don't want to drive around? Well then settle back for a BBQ on the spacious outside patio, or build a campfire in the fire pit for a evening of fun. In the mornings head out back with a fresh cup of hot coffee and enjoy moose, deer, a variety of birds, squirrels, marmots, and other wildlife literally wandering around the area

We have spent our lifetimes living and raising our four children, now 11 grandkids in Yellowstone Country. We love to hike Yellowstone Park, we are major fly fishing, skiing and cycling nuts, we love just sitting in the pines, taking the grandkids on nature walks, and provide a destination for our children. We are both retired, me as a firefighter, and we spent 20 years guiding cyclists following the Tour de France spending 5 weeks abroad each summer.

Why they chose this property

We chose Moose Haven because of the very close location to Yellowstone Park (7 miles), the area fishing, and yet because the home is located in the forest you still think your far, far away from civilization.

My wife has been in this area since she was 3, I started going there 40+ years ago, it has always been a dream to be there. During other times of the year we down in So Cal enjoying sunshine in North San Diego County closer to our grandchildren.

What makes this property unique

A real benefit staying in our home...is that it is just that...'our home', it is not a shell rental unit, but is a rich, comfortable, very well appointed home with everything you need. We sit in the most forested lot in our area, so staying home is as nice as being deep inside Yellowstone Park, including some critters. Occasionally, we have moose, fox, and other critters early spring

We are 10 minutes from West Yellowstone, and YNP west gate. The town has all amenities with good restaurants and grocery stores. We are within 45 minutes of the best fishing waters in the US, if not the world. Lake Hebgen is a large lake 5 minutes away, horseback outfitters 5 minutes away, 90 miles to the south is Jackson Hole and the Grand Teton Park.

We like the local bakeries and coffee shops in town, and much more.

One of our favorite activities, is to simply have a nice lunch on the back deck, do some reading and listen to the wind through the tall pines and then nap....yes NAP!

It is a must do experience!
