About this property

It's Still Summer--Pick Peaches, Listen to Bands, Build Sand Castles!!

If you want to experience living in a vintage 20's cottage in Saugatuck, Big Blue is the answer . Big Blue is a charming refurbished vintage 1920's cottage on the Hill, with all the eccentricities of an older home.

There are three large bedrooms, 2 queens and 1 set of twins, all with lovely wooden floors. The upstairs bathroom has a tub/shower combination and tile floors. The galley-size bathroom on the first floor has a step-in tiled shower and tile floors. The large living room/dining room has the original walnut paneling, with antique oak dining table and chairs and wicker and rattan couch and chairs. There is a screened in porch through the sliding glass doors in the dining room where you can sit and have your morning coffee and listen to the birds. The kitchen is huge, completely furnished, with lots of counter space for cooking or projects.

Rainy Days? Connect to WIFI, stream your favorite channels or play any of the numerous games and puzzles.

Outside are 3 different decks, all attached with 2 different seating options. The huge back yard has mature trees and plants and is so peaceful. Big Blue comfortably fits 6 people with plenty of space to do your own thing. There is a washer, dryer, and high chair.

THE FIREPLACE IS NON-OPERATIONAL AND WE DO NOT ALLOW FIREPITS.

We allow 1 dog under 50 pounds. As there is not a fenced in backyard, we require that they are on a lease when in the backyard. We do have a pet fee.

Big Blue is just 7 blocks from downtown Saugatuck; an easy walk to shopping and restaurants. Plenty of parking on site (but don't park under the walnut tree--those can dent your car or head).

Parking is not an issue as you will have the whole driveway to yourselves.

Saugatuck has recently passed strict Short Term Rental Ordinances. We are in a quiet residential neighborhood and Quiet Time is from 11:00 on.

Please observe the 11:00 quiet time ordinance.

Big Blue has a 6 person occupancy limit determined by the Fire Department. Please observe this limit.

Ernie and I retired to Saugatuck from Nebraska 17 years ago and have loved every minute. There is so much to do and enjoy. We drive through town and say "I can't believe we live here". Restaurants, shopping, boating, hiking, sight-seeing, plays, art.....it goes on and on.

Why they chose this property

If you love the cottage experience, you will love Big Blue. It is a 1920's home that has been updated but still has that cottage feeling. All wood floors, walnut walls, a country style kitchen and screened in porch are part of the quaintness. There are 3 deck areas in the back under the huge pine trees for you to enjoy. Saugatuck is 6 blocks away....a short walk through the old neighborhoods.

What makes this property unique

There is plenty of parking (you have the whole drive way so room for everyone's cars), you can walk downtown (6 blocks), pet friendly, Streaming TV, ice maker, WIFI, 3 decks, large back yard for games, screened in porch to drink coffee and watch the world go by.

Want to go to the beach? We have the chairs and towels, toys and life jackets.
