About this property
Historical Morrow House Season 5 Fixer Upper, Featured In Cottage Style Magazine
Our historical home was on the first episode of season 5 of Fixer Upper. When Mrs. Gaines toured the house as the second option they called it #TheRealFixerUpper! It was not a home ultimately designed by the Gaines's but we are honored to be a small part of the filming. The excitement for the home was captured best when Joanna Gaines said "I feel like a dog with a T-bone steak, I am like please give ME the T-bone steak!"
Since its renovation in 2017 The Morrow House has been featured in Cottage Style Magazine, Modern Farmhouse Style Magazine and Modern Texas Living Magazine. The Morrow House is also featured in the new book titled "Historic Homes of Waco Texas".
WE ARE IMPLEMENTING INCREASED EFFORTS TO PROTECT GUESTS DURING THE CORONA VIRUS. LEAVING A 24 HOUR WINDOW FOR CLEANING BETWEEN GUESTS AND CLEANING/CHANGING OF EVERY LINEN IN THE HOME BETWEEN GUESTS. ALL CLEANING SUPPLIES FOR COUNTERS & HARD SURFACES THAT WE USE ARE CLOROX BLEACH DISINFECTANTS.
The Morrow House is a 130 year old home restored by Crown Construction in 2017. They and designer Amy Normand took elaborate care to restore the huge pocket doors, original trim around the home and refinish by hand all 33 windows to bring it back to its original stately presence. It is a beautiful piece of Waco history and there was no expense was spared in the detail, design or furnishings in this charming three bedroom three bathroom home! From the large chandeliers to the tiniest of trim work, this home is one of the most beautiful homes in Waco!
The home is owned by Kimberlee Rodriguez and her family. They are thrilled to share this Central Texas treasure with visitors while they explore the wonders of Waco. The home has a beautiful living space, fully equipped kitchen, and a large dining area for everyone to gather for dinner, games and great conversation. Our beds are luxurious and each bedroom has a private bath.
The Morrow House is close to great shopping, delicious places to eat and Baylor University!

A bit about the Rodriguez Family:
Travel, and shared experiences have always been a central part of our family time. In today’s world the demands of career and activities can pull us in many directions, but getting out of town together or sharing unique experiences has always given us meaningful ways to connect and recharge. When we moved to Waco three years ago an extraordinary journey began for each of us. One of the unexpected blessings was that we had over 80 houseguests during the first year! Everyone wanted to visit and explore Waco and we were his or her guides. It was great for us to show Central Texas to our friends and family because it encouraged us to get out and explore in new ways, and gave us new opportunities to get to know our new home. Each of our guests has had different ideas of what they want to see and do when they visit; some want to drive in the country and shop old antique shops or see pastures full of cattle. Others want to watch a Baylor athletics event and eat at one of our great local restaurants. Some want to shop all weekend and others want to walk along the Brazos and see lightning bugs! However all of them leave here loving the people and the pace of life in Waco.
After Amy and I met, I felt that the Morrow House was a part of our family journey here in Waco. The home’s beauty, history and resurrection story make it a beautiful haven for people to escape to. Our family, including my parents who moved here to join us two years ago, is thrilled to have an opportunity to share Waco with our guests from all corners of the world as we’ve been doing for the last three years.

About the host
Hosted by Kimberlee Rodriguez

Our family believes Central Texas is a special part of the world, and we are honored that visitors are drawn to the unique qualities of Waco and its beautiful community of people and experiences. It is our goal that our guests enjoy the beauty of the home and appreciate its wonderful history and modern elegance.
Why they chose this property
The beauty and history of The Morrow House drew me to it, but its resurrection story made me fall in love. Its such a symbol of life, that once was lost can not only be found, but can be better than before! That's why my husband and I decided to share this home with visitors to Waco. We hope everyone who stays here feels the love and hope that we feel in the Morrow House.
