Month in O'side

Location and condition of condo was as advertized and expected. Previous reviews were also helpful so there were no surprises. Pros- proximity to stores and restaurants was fantastic, also within a few miles of beach when we wanted to go, quiet community, two pools, all necessities for even a long stay. Cons- no AC (although it was rarely needed because we had fans), uncomfortable couches (might not be an issue if you are only there for a short period), no basic cable, all streaming. Cheryl was great to work with and promptly addressed any issues we had. I would definitely stay here again for a shorter visit.

Clean Neighborhood, Nice and Quiet

I was there for almost six weeks while i hunted for an apt. It’s a quaint little condo at ground level with a back patio to enjoy the bird life and fresh air. The sofa isn’t comfortable at all, it hurt my back. The foldout couch mattress is about an inch of springs and and inch of cloth, so don’t expect anyone but children to sleep on that. The neighborhood is very clean, full of beautiful greenery and is quiet. Use of the garage was an appreciated bonus!. The pool was cold so i didn’t swim in it and the hot tub was out of order while i was there (i forgot to try the other pool down the street). Cheryl was very responsive and helpful whenever i had questions. If you’re going as a family for a week or more and expect to do laundry, the stacking washer/dryer is on it’s last legs and simply will not spin for towels without banging out of control, but you can do light duty loads ok. Maybe it will be replaced by the time you get there! Overall, the price was comparatively a bargain and i felt safe and calm there as a solo traveler. Also, there are big box stores all within a couple miles, which was convenient.

Perfect for my needs!

Clean, quiet and well-appointed condo in a safe and friendly neighborhood. Just a few minutes drive to the cutest beach town ever. I was concerned about no air conditioning, but plenty of fans and a delightful breeze got me through the 2 hours in the afternoon when things heated up. Two pools and hot tub and grilling areas. This exceeded my expectations. I only needed to contact Cheryl once when I couldn't figure out the tv and she got right back to me. Highly recommend.

Great spot for house hunting or vacationing in Oside!

Location is close to everything. Hop on 78 to the beach or enjoy a lake day in San Marcos. Shopping close by. Quiet, peaceful stay with nice pool and spa.

Pros and Cons

Having stayed in many vrbo's (10-15+) I feel qualified to evaluate this unit and discuss certain things we look for. So here are the pro's and con's of this unit. PRO'S: Location to beach, town, freeways. Unit was clean. Lots of cooking utensils. Lots of linens. Quiet. Bed firm. Cheryl was responsive. CON'S: upon arrival no TP, paper towels, or kleenex (kind of a big deal). Couch very uncomfortable and needs to be replaced. DVD not hooked up and no wires to connect it. TV remote did not work properly, yes I changed the batteries). Even though it lists "cable TV", it is BARE minimum, I know this because I was directed to contact the carrier (COX) for help and discovered this. You get ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, Spanish, religious, shopping, and music channels. NO ESPN, golf, CNN, MSNBC, FOX, TNT, etc. Channels you expect to receive if you list it as Cable TV. For me, this alone is a deal breaker. Also, remote gate opener did not work so always had to enter on Vista and punch in code. I would not stay here again.

Nice and very clean apartment. The kitchen is well equipped and we have found everything we needed. Beds could be more comfy but anyway we slept well. Extra towels and linens are available and washer/dryer in unit is also very convenient. There is no A/C but there was a good temperature with ceiling fans and fresh air from the windows.

Very clean, cozy, nice gated community and very convenient!

This apartment house is located in nice gated com, community with easy access to freeway, grocery stores and variety of restaurant. The room, kitchen and bathroom are clean and enough size for small family to stay more than a few days. There are enough cookware and appliances for simple meals, and nice outside dining area for breakfast and early dinner. Big sofa bed enough for two adults with additional mattress which is too soft and better to be firmer for more comfortable sleep. Overall, this is really nice for the price and we would stay here again.

Great budget stay for small family

We liked this place despite the fact it is quite not correctly described. "Gated community" in reality is an apartment complex. But it is really quiet and well maintained. Convenient location at hayway 78 takes 10-15 mins to any beach in Carsbad and Oceanside. The big adwantage in compare with hotel room is that there is pretty much everything you need. All kinds of household stuff. A Con was that there no AC in the room, only ceiling fans, that was shoking at the first moment, but then you get used for it fast. And maybe sofa in living room needs some update. In average it was pretty good stay, especially for this money, so I'm giving 5 stars

Cute condo

The only slight disappointment was no air conditioning. But that was my fault for not paying attention to that when booking the condo. In the middle of July air would have been nice but the pools were great to cool off in. Everything else about the condo was fantastic and perfect for our needs.
