This house is a gem. Awesome view of the Pacific and lighthouse. Access to the beach is a few steps from the front door. Everything in the house has been thoughtfully updated. I’d come back in a heart beat.
Lovely home with a great view of the ocean. Access to the beach was less than a block away. Easy access to the redwood parks. The host was informative and friendly. Definitely enjoyed our stay.
The home and surroundings were gorgeous and so thoughtfully and thoroughly stocked, we felt like we were staying in someone's home. Were we not 3 states away, we would return in a heartbeat.
Beautiful home, lovely view. Convenient location for redwoods adventures and coastal views. Clean, comfortable and steps away from beach access. Had everything we needed for a great stay. Would stay again and recommend to others.
Wonderful stay. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The view was beautiful. Perfect place to explore the redwoods. We will be back and would highly recommend this place.
We loved this place. Gorgeous house, yard, and views. Quiet neighborhood. Definitely not a "VRBO only" kind of place that is full of cheap furniture. Would absolutely stay again.
Just as advertised. What a beautiful view. And such a well stocked kitchen. Comfy beds. Lovely living room. Steps from the beach. Crescent City has enough restaurants and a grocery store, making it a great home base for exploring the Redwoods.
The view from this home is absolutely incredible. Watching the ocean and the lighthouse from the house was unforgettable, and the location is hard to beat.Unfortunately, the condition of the home did not match our expectations. When we arrived, the trash was already half full, the refrigerator, freezer, and pantry still contained a lot of leftover food, and the microwave had a very unpleasant odor. There was a lot of dust and the bathroom was not clean. The home felt much more like someone’s personal residence than a vacation rental, with clothing left in bedroom drawer and the hall closet so full of personal belongings that there was little room for guests to store their own items. There were also child safety locks installed on many of the cabinets and doors, which made using the kitchen and other areas inconvenient. We also found that the measuring cup in the kitchen drawer were dirty, and the shower curtain had visible mold on it. Overall, the home would benefit from a thorough deep cleaning and depersonalization before guests arrive. Communicating about the rental before hand was difficult. Took days for a respRegardless, that this was the most expensive rental, I have ever gotten the overall cleanliness and readiness of the home left us feeling that more attention to detail is needed. This property has stunning views and a lot of potential, but based on our experience, it did not provide the level of cleanliness and guest preparation we expect from a Vrbo rental.

Hello,
We were somewhat shocked to receive your VRBO claim for a significant refund mid way through your stay without any direct communication to us to allow us the opportunity to address your concerns. With over 500 guests served over the last ten years we have never received anything less than a good review for the overall experience.
We have taken your concerns seriously and provided a full refund for the cleaning fee and one night stay for your stated inconvenience that we believe is predominately based on your dislike for the artwork including framed family recipes, colored ocean pictures (that guests have left for us) and many of the extra guest amenities in the kitchen and the hall closet there are empty closets is each bedroom. Most guests are very happy with our fully stocked kitchen and guest supplies in the hall closet that include additional jackets, blankets, card table, high chair and baby gates.
With respect to the cleanliness of the house. We did have our house cleaner come the prior night to accommodate your urgent request for a noon checkin to ensure your refrigerated items could be stored immediately. We were not able to accommodate your request for a late check out. We do acknowledge that a few things were missed as you have mentioned; however, we cannot quite understand how a half full trash can, child locks on 2 cabinets and few left over clean articles of clothing would cause you a major inconvenience. Nonetheless, one nights stay and a full cleaning fee was refunded.
With respect to communication we did send you a detailed email that outlines the house features and amenities prior to your stay. The few direct messages received prior to your stay were responded to within an hour or less. The only message not to get a quick response, was the one that we had to wait to know if early check in was possible. During your first night you were responded to within 30 minutes as to where the garbage liners were. Again, no mention of any issues or concerns were ever communicated to us.
Overall was a great stay. Communication with the hosts was excellent in advance of and during the stay. The house had all the basics we needed in the kitchen and bath. The view from the sitting room was exactly as the picture depicted. A restorative way to start and end the day. Location was perfect, close to Redwoods National & State Parks and an easy walk to the beach.
The home is exactly as described, and perfect for our little family of 3. Phil was a great host - we had everything we needed for our stay. The views are incredible, and the house is a quick walk to the beach and the redwoods are just a short drive away.
Well stocked kitchen including condiments, Comfortable beds and ocean views. We walked to the ocean and found lots of starfish in the tide pools. Lots of great hiking nearby and a great brewery.
The ocean views from this house are incredible: you can watch the waves rolling in for hours. And the house is very clean and comfortable with many updated features and everything you need to enjoy your stay. It was a perfect base camp for a Redwoods-oriented vacation. We would stay here again if we’re back in Crescent City.
The house was beautiful, well stocked and felt like home. Beds were very comfortable and the view and location were amazing. We enjoyed the beach, just steps away, and with just a few minutes drive we were in Jedidiah Smith walking in the redwoods and enjoying the crystal clear waters of Smith River. Highly Recommend!!
Our stay here was incredible! The house was super comfortable and had everything we needed. It was so convenient to walk down to the beach. The best part is the view - we loved looking out at the ocean while we drank coffee in the mornings and watching the fog roll in in the afternoon.
We had an amazing time. The house was very comfortable!! We were one house and 8 steps down to the beach. We had a wonderful time!!!

About the host
Hosted by Phil and Nicole Brumm
Phil and Nicole are Residents of the Bay Area and love coming up to Crescent City to enjoy Hiking and spending time at the numerous beaches.
Why they chose this property
The house was passed down to the family from Phil’s Grandparents who were long term residents of Crescent City. Growing up our family spent most summers at the house with many great memories enjoying barbecues at the beach and taking advantage of the nearby smith river and many beautiful redwood forest hiking trails.
What makes this property unique
This house sits on a bluff with phenomenal views of the coastline and the Battery Point Lighthouse. The house is only ten short yards from public beach access and offers many opportunities for spontaneous trips to the beach.
