About this property

The Valley Farm House

Set on four acres of gorgeous parkland, with native gums, ancient deciduous, an orchard to explore and bordered by the beautiful Myers Creek, the Valley Farm House is a stunningly crafted testament to the love that only an owner builder can create. Framed in original timber from the early 1900’s Fremantle Wool Stores with walls of hand made mud brick, the house is a perfect fairy-talesque escape from the world for a romantic couples get-away or family retreat in the country.

The space

You will wake up to the sound of kookaburras and parrots on land that was the first area settled in Healesville. Make yourself at home in the huge open plan living and dining area, with a radiant log fire, books from a life time of English literature parents, or move outside to the spotted gum deck and fire pit to enjoy a glass of beautiful Yarra Valley wine.
The upstairs bedroom is an open plan space with a luxurious Queen size bed and fold out couch. The second Queen bedroom is located outside the main house in an adjoining room complete with ensuite bathroom. All linens and towels will be provided for you throughout your stay.
We also provide breakfast supplies for your stay: a selection of cereals and spreads, bread, eggs, milk and butter in addition to fresh coffee grounds and a large selection of tea.
You will be greeted on arrival with a bottle of local wine, soft drink and sweet treats (please let me know if you have any allergies).

The gorgeous log burning fire in the centre of the house will keep you warm throughout your stay, with instructions on how to use and wood and kindling provided for you. We also have a fire pit located next to our outside deck area which is perfect for roasting marshmallows or using as a BBQ, with grates and cast iron pans in the house.

Wildlife is prolific on the property, with an array of native and extremely friendly birds that will gather outside the window, with bird seed available for your use, early morning kangaroos will travel through the gardens, a resident wombat and possums come alive at night.
Located only a 5 minute drive from the centre of Healesville, the Valley House offers the perfect romance of isolation with the ease of a central location to all the delights the Yarra Valley has to offer.

Guest access
During your stay in the Valley Farm House you will have access to the entire place and are welcome to explore the grounds, wander amongst the trees and feed the loyal parrot that will be sure to arrive daily!
There is ample parking available for you also, please be sure to park in front of the stone wall as you enter the driveway and please NOT on the grass.
Opposite the main house, there is a small bungalow where Judy (Jesse's Mum) lives and our tiny house. We share a driveway, but apart from that the buildings are all completely seperate with their own private access.

Other things to note

Please be aware of wildlife on the road if you are entering after dark.

We usually have a minimum requirement of 2 nights, but we can be flexible with this, so please contact us if you have any 1 night inquiries.

About the host

Hi! We are Jesse & Em, we made the move back to Jesse's home town of Healesville at the start 2018 to escape the madness of Melbourne and haven't looked back! We both adore being outdoors, travelling and eating all the amazing produce that we can find out in the Yarra Valley. We love meeting new people and sharing stories, so we home that we get to hear a few of yours if you come to stay at the Valley Farm House.

Why they chose this property

This property is Jesse's family home, built by his father in the 90's it's a truly unique house that will probably make you feel like you're on the set of Hansel & Gretel. We enjoy spending days sitting at our dining table looking out on to the blossoming property and watching the wildlife totally undisturbed, it really is a little slice of heaven.
