What a fantastic get away Cottage!
We planned a girl's weekend and found Bill's cottage absolutely perfect. It slept the 5 of us comfortably, was close to downtown Suttons Bay and the wine trail and had everything we needed! We will definitely come back and I've already recommended it to friends and family.

Great place to stay in Suttons Bay
Clean, cozy, comfortable, private, quiet...just a great place to stay while taking in all the attractions that the Leelanau peninsula has to offer. Bill, the owner, was super helpful providing "insider information" on beaches and restaurants to make our stay even better. (Thanks for loaning us the beach chairs Bill!) We would not hesitate to stay there again.

The only place we will stay when we go to the Traverse City area!
We have stayed at this gem at least four times now, it's like a home away from home when we return. Bill makes sure we have everything we need, he is the most gracious host. We love it, so peaceful. It's exactly what we need to escape running our own business for a few days.

This cottage is well maintained and very clean. The location is great! The bike path is at the end of the driveway and everything from wineries to breweries, distilleries, beaches, marinas, sand dunes, shopping, and restaurants are all within a short drive from the cottage. Thank you Bill for your hospitality and your dining recommendations. We hope to see you again next year!

We loved visiting the cottage. The location is outstanding to visit the Leelanau Pennisula's wineries, beaches, and the Sleepy Bear Dunes. It was very clean with the amenities we needed. We enjoyed dining on the porch and the kids loved the camp fires at night. We look forward to visiting again. Thanks so much!!

Beautiful seclusion
This place was a very pleasant surprise. Perfect location. Everything was there that we needed for the most part my only suggestions are to bring your own pillows. There is no air conditioning but we were provided with plenty of fans and with the windows open it was perfect

Leelanau County Cottage
This was a lovely private, country setting. We enjoyed the late evenings with it being light out until 10:00 p.m. We loved being able to have bonfires. And no mosquitoes!!! The close proximity to the bike trails was a plus. Other activities we took advantage of were kayaking, beach combing, hiking, climbing the dunes, picnics, and shopping.

Bed, Very happy to have your family with us! Yes, the Trail is popular and folks that like to bike always use it at the end of our driveway.
Thank you for mentioning 'NO mosquitos!!' We are both familiar with those pesky biting things down South so having them absent up here is a very welcome time.
I am happy that your visit was pleasant. You are always welcome here!

Not Bad
We loved that cottage was centrally located to various towns in Leelanua county. We also liked that we could walk to Leelanua Trail as it was at end of driveway. The outside area around cabin could stand for a good mowing and tree trimming. Drove thru low hanging tree branches as pulling in or out of cottage driveway area and due to overgrowth of tree branches into deck area we were not able to enjoy sitting out on deck. Bill was friendly and helpful and overall we did enjoy our stay.

As I explained when you all arrived... We have had an awful lot of rainfall up here and keeping up with the grass is not possible because it is usually too wet. This did not bother you when you arrived so I do not understand why this would bother you now??
Two years ago we had one lightbulb out... last year we did not have a 'jet flush' toilet, this year the grass needs to be cut.
Oh well... I can't make everyone happy all the time. There is always one every year that I can not please. Maybe next year we'll be 'perfect'.

Something for Everyone!
What's not to like about this clean, comfortable, beautifully renovated historic farmhouse? It's located close to wineries, restaurants, shopping, beaches and golf courses, yet when you are "home" you can still experience all the privacy you desire. Cyclists will love the Leelanau/TART Trail, a 17-mile paved trail connecting Suttons Bay to Traverse City. If you don't have bikes, rental bikes are available in Suttons Bay. Be sure to check out Hop Lot Brewing Company. Got kids? A visit to Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum is well worth the drive to Northport. Bill is a wonderful host. He welcomed us warmly and made us feel special. We even got to meet his delightful, hard-working (HA!) cats.

Greetings Again!
Your family was a true pleasure to have as guests. AMAZING to have two younger generation guys that could care less about 'being online'! For us, we would rather 'be outdoors'... instead of 'being online'.
You and yours are always welcome here and yes, the hospitality will continue as always. Good to see folks enjoying the Trail too. The convenience of having it right here to use is a 'plus' for residents and guests alike.
Again... thank you for the pleasant conversations! GREAT to meet you all too!
My best to you,

We enjoyed our stay. It was tough with no air conditioning in summer in July. There are fans. Beds were comfy. No laundry, so prepare for that. Kitchen is equipped with eating utensils, a few cooking utensils, plates, mugs, cups, bowls, a few pans. No coffee but there were filters. No cooking oil supplied. There was salt and pepper. We had to share bath towels for the duration of stay. Only given 5. Prepare for that too. There was no outdoor patio that was sufficient enough to eat on. We were a little disappointed with the fire pit and the area it was in on the property. It was located on a concrete slab which may have been a home or large shed at some point. Didn’t have that up north feel for a fire pit. We loved the wood paneling and the decor, it did give an up north and cozy feel. We got locked out and Bill was there within 5 minutes to help us. Thanks for having us!

Hi Anthony, we are really happy to hear you enjoyed your stay! Your review is greatly appreciated, and we're thankful you shared your experience. Upon reviewing your feedback, we've connected with the homeowner, who wanted to quickly address a few points:
- As is standard for vacation rentals, the homeowner provides a starter supply of essentials for guests’ convenience. The tin marked 'Coffee' was full of complimentary guest coffee for you to enjoy during your stay. Our apologies if this was not made clear.
- Guests may have to purchase additional supplies, especially for longer stays or larger groups. Thank you for understanding.
- The listing does not state there is AC or laundry available at our cottage, but we are sorry if this caught you off guard.
- We encourage guests to thoroughly review the listing before booking, to ensure they find the perfect vacation home for their needs.
- We use local, professional photographers to make sure that the listing photos correctly reflect the property.
We look forward to this cottage hosting many satisfied guests. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope to host you again!

Great
Great place. Beautiful leaves. Even when raining things were beautiful.
My wife and I stayed here for five nights. The quiet setting was just what we were looking for and the proximity to Sutton's Bay and Traverse City made it ideal.
We stayed here due to the location and the ability to easily sleep our family of 4. We loved the property itself for the quiet and secluded feel to it. However, it was only 5 minutes into the town of Suttons Bay and 10-12 minutes into Traverse City. We found it easy enough to do a day to the Sleeping Bear Dunes and beaches of Lake Michigan. We greatly enjoyed our stay and will definitely plan for another trip here next season.

Hi Susan, the homeowner would like to share the following: While we try to accommodate all guests with clean features, we also are very thoughtful about using harsh chemicals at and near our rental. Every year we use a healthier approach by using non-toxic sprays. We cannot eliminate all ladybugs that arrive each Spring but we do our best. When we heard of your complaint during the stay, we made immediate arrangements to spray and vacuum any pests, at the guest's convenience. You confirmed with us afterward that everything looked great so we assumed everything was taken care of. Thanks for taking the time to leave your review.
We stayed four nights at the Leelanau Country Cottage. We really enjoyed our stay and Bill was very helpful delivering supplies to us and providing ideas for local dining options. The upstairs area allowed the kids to have a space to hang out separate from the main living area. My husband and I enjoyed breakfast on the seating area just outside the kitchen and we made a bonfire one night as well. Definitely a relaxing location.
Bill’s cottage was perfect for us and we lucked out with amazing weather. We loved the proximity to the bike path and wineries, visiting three one afternoon. We biked into Sutton’s Bay for paddle boarding and ice cream on another day. Hanging out by the “ruins” of the old barn was so cool. We made a fire and watched the stars come out. Other reviews mentioned that the trees need to be trimmed but I felt like they added privacy. The kitchen could use a couple more small things like a big bowl and large spoons. We improvised. Would definitely stay again. Thanks, Bill!
Quiet and a bit rural but easy to get to Sutton’s Bay, Glen Arbor, Sleeping Bear. Very light at night, bring your eye mask. Very clean, good kitchen, cool in the summer, lovely old barn(?) foundation to explore. Porch is not usable due to overgrown tree.
This property and location were perfect! It is such a great location, just 20-30 minute drive to everything on the peninsula. The cottage was clean and efficient. Everything about the stay was great. I would highly recommend this property for a nice relaxing stay on the peninsula.
Very good experience. Owner was nice and moved his car to accommodate our truck and boat making it easier for us to park and go in and out. Great central location to Traverse City and Sutton’s Bay. Overall a great family get away! Would highly recommend.
