About this property

Large, Spacious Log Cabin home in the White Mountains, Pet friendly!

Our beautiful 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom, 3100 square foot log home is nestled on 33 acres in the White Mountains. This cabin is perfect for a family getaway or a private couples weekend. Less than a 30 minute drive to Tenney Mountain Ski Resort for skiing, snow boarding, snow tubing, or excellent dining. 4 wheel / all wheel drive, all terrain tires or better are a must during the winter months. The last mile in is snow packed and the driveway is very long uphill. We will discuss in detail on the phone. During the spring, summer and fall there is no issue with the driveway/road.

Grab a hot cup of coffee and step out on to the covered porch and just enjoy the wildlife and amazing mountain views surrounding the cabin. Relax in the evening in the outdoor hot tub( Brand new March 2024!). Take a hike (snow shoeing) in the back yard as this property backs up to the National Forest. Snowmobiling trails are just at the end of the driveway. It is also just a short drive to Stinson Lake, which offers excellent ice fishing or ice skating in the Winter and a public boat ramp during the rest of the year.

Main level of home offers bright open concept living and a spacious 1st floor master suite with a king size bed and amazing bathroom with huge Jacuzzi tub and shower. The kitchen features stainless steel appliances including a double oven, and dishwasher. The breakfast bar has seating for 6 and we have an additional set of 4 TV trays. The lower level provides an additional 2 bedrooms and full bath with another living area.

Bedroom 1 on lower level has bunk beds(twin) and a Queen bed
Bedroom 2 on lower level has a Queen Bed
Family room on lower level has 2 queen size futons that can be made into additional sleeping areas. There is room for up to 8. Additional fee applies to more than 6 guests, $25 per person per day.

This is the perfect getaway for fisherman, hunters, snowmobilers, or anyone who is looking for peace and quiet in a serene woodsy, mountain view setting. Everything needed for a wonderful vacation.

Wonderful!

A few friends and I (plus our pups) wanted to find a nice cabin to have a weekend getaway. We had a wonderful time at this beautiful cabin. The cabin was spacious, clean and very cozy! The dogs also had so much space to run around outside! We are planning to come back next year!

Absolute dream

This cabin was stocked with anything we could think of! Instantly you are comfortable and warm (props to the wood stove) - Bring a good dinner to cook, book to read & keep the weekend simple - Definition of slow living! The house was very clean and had a ton of games, dvds & extras! Make a pit stop at the Rumney Village Store because there is not much around! (Best part!) - the view was amazing and we were sad to leave! Grabbed a Christmas tree at a cut your own on the way out!

Weekend stay

My son was graduating from PSU, so we rented this cabin for the weekend. The house was beautiful and had all amenities that we needed. The views were amazing. Definitely need four wheel drive for the driveway, but so worth it for the view. 1/4 mile down the road was the 3 pond trail. We did this Sunday morning and encountered a momma bear and her three cubs, such a great experience. Loved everything about our stay!

Beautiful house in a beautiful loacation.

Loved, loved, loved everything about this place! Absolutely beautiful log cabin in a perfect and private location. We love bears so the bear decor throughout the place made it extra special. The rooms were so spacious and worked perfectly for all of us. The grandkids had a blast! The main area with kitchen, living room and back deck kept us all close for together time and the bedrooms are spaced out perfectly for sleep time. There is a great view off the back deck and it was perfectly located close to the hikes we had planned and the activities with the kids. Steve is a fantastic host. He provides excellent communication and instantly responded to any attempt I had made contacting him. Highly recommend this place to all. You'll love it!

Incredible Cabin

We had a great stay at the cabin. It is not just a place to stay, it is a destination. The cabin was roomy, comfortable, in superb condition, immaculately clean, very well equipped, very private, and in a beautiful location. It has a kitchen and master bath that would be the envy of most homeowners. The rear of the house, deck, and backyard offer great views. The hot tub is wonderful. The cabin is the perfect place to get away from it all and relax, which is what we did. We spent most of our time on the main level, which was great for a 2 person retreat weekend. However with all the room on the lower level and outside, it could easily accommodate a large family or 2-3 couples. It's remote enough that you can "get away from it all", but not too remote. There is a small store 10-15 minutes away. 20-25 minutes gets you to an area with restaurants, grocery stores, highway access, etc. The owner provided plenty of info ahead of our stay, and responded very quickly with any questions we had during the weekend. We really loved it, and hope to return soon.

Exactly what we wanted

The pictures don't do this place justice! Everything was spotless and most of it new. We were looking to be relatively remote and isolated bathing in peace and quiet -- and yet spoiled. This place absolutely nailed it! Views off the deck in the morning with a cup of coffee started the therapy. We did venture out to surrounding areas -- Squam Lake/West Rattlesnake Mtn. and Franconia Notch State Park. I stopped at the Hannaford's in Plymouth (and the NH State Liquor Store) for provisions and wine -- and we made full use of the kitchen. I'm a high maintenance chef and felt like I had what I needed to make first class dinners every night. (We even appropriated a few apples off the tree and some rhubarb for a dessert.) The appliances are solid and there's enough equipment to do just about anything you'd need to do. The HUGE jacuzzi tub in the master bath and the outdoor hot tub were awesome. I was glad that the temps were mild enough not to need to use the wood stove in the living room, but there's also baseboard electric heat if needed. The owner was appropriately available by text and anxious to make things go smoothly. We had an appropriate amount of contact and knew we could get help immediately if needed. We'd do this all over again, and hopefully some day we will!

BEST MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND TRIP

Our family has been going on Memorial Day Trips for years, and this by far was our best stay. Everything was perfect. The home was immaculate, the space in each room was over the top, and the fun we had can not be explained. Things to know, you will not have cell phone coverage out there. Calls will get dropped, almost a guarranty. Luckily there is wifi, and hopefully your friends have iPhones so that you can enable wifi calling. The home had everything we needed to cook. Coffee was on hand in Keurig cups, so we didn't even need to bring a bag of coffee. The outdoor Jacuzzi was very cool. Spent two nights in there, and definitely nice relaxing at night listing to all the wildlife. The indoor hot tub I don't think was working. The top jets worked but the bottom didn't, so didn't spend much time in it. We used the outdoor grill, was in perfect shape, and got hot quick. Was great to cook some burgers and hot dogs. There was some concern about getting up the driveway, but we had 2 sedans, and got up with no issues. Steve stayed in contestant communication, and answered all of our questions. Was very helpful, my family and I are very grateful for the opportunity to stay in such a wonderful home. Thanks Again!

Great Home, Private Location

We rented the cabin for 4 nights our annual family "getting the tree" weekend. It had snowed about 5 inches the night before we arrived. Our daughter & son in law arrived around 4pm. They have a front wheel drive Rogue and had no issue getting up the driveway. We arrived after dark and the tire tracks in the driveway had frozen over and were icy. We have a 4 wheel drive Yukon with decent tires and could not get up the driveway. We actually slide down and out into the road with one attempt! My wife was a nervous wreck and thought would would be walking our stuff up the long driveway, but luckily I had a shovel with us and was able to shovel dirt over the tire tracks and finally (after 1/2 hr) made it up the driveway. I called Steve to inform him that the driveway hadn't been plowed and the difficulty we had getting up. He called his plow guy who was there within the hour. We had no other issues with the driveway the reminder of our stay. Just an FYI to arrive before dark and be prepared just in case. The cabin is adorable and very comfortable. We loved cooking in the well equipped kitchen. The jacuzzi tub is very nice as well as the woodstove, which kept us cozy :) We never had the time to use the outdoor hot tub, but are hoping for a return trip in the future. We loved the location of the house! Beautiful views and extremely private. We were very thankful that they allow dogs, since out sweet boy Hunter hates being boarded. Our only complaint would be that the internet is very slow if you are watching the TV (Netflix). Overall a great get away!! Thanks so much for renting your lovely home!

About the host

Hosted by Stephen and Jennifer Smith

Host profile image
We are from a small town in Massachusetts but love spending time in New Hampshire, especially the White Mountains so when we bought this log home it was like a dream come true. We love sharing our log cabin home with guest. It gives us so much pride and satisfaction when our guests return. Nothing better then getting messages during a guests stay telling us "this place is amazing", "we are in love with this view", "we don't want to leave". We know that each guest that visits The Lazy Lodge will have a wonderful stay.

Why they chose this property

Nestled up a very steep driveway you will see a very spacious and beautiful Log Home. You can sit on the back deck and just stare at the beautiful views or sit in the hot tub.

What makes this property unique

We think we have the most amazing log cabin in the White Mountains. We are far enough away from the road but close enough to not make it inconvenient. Secluded and private.
