I was not able to stay in the room. It is not handicap accessible. There was no way to ask if it was handicap accessible because I had to make the reservation before I was able to contact the owner and as about accessibility. I did not find this out until I was on the property. There was no way to tell from the pictures. I called the owners and they were very understanding and are going to refund my money.

Not bad, not great
My wife and were in town for a short anniversary trip and an Avs game. Access isn’t too bad, just several long steps down to the basement level of the back of the home. We had some trouble getting the lockbox open and the owner did not answer the phone call for help, but we eventually got it open ourselves. The space was neat and clean. The wall outlets near the bed are blocked by the bed itself, and the other one is blocked by the dresser, so plugging in chargers was quite a pain. What isn’t explained in the description, is that the owners live directly above the room. During our 2-night stay, there was a TON of noise above us into late hours of the night. Lots of running around, banging, yelling, laughing and we pretty much heard every TV show/movie they had playing. Not very peaceful at all, and no regard for their renters paying them to stay below. The remodel on the unit looked like it never got finished, and was obviously a DIY project as it was not done well (electrical, drywall/texture/paint/tile all done sloppy). I’m an electrician so I noticed the lack of quality in the construction. The shower pressure is also SEVERELY lacking. It couldn’t even reach the back of the shower as it barely fell to the distance of the drain from the head.We cooked each meal except for one dinner out and they had most everything we needed to do so. I’d say 4/10 overall. Won’t be staying here again unfortunately.
This place was perfect for us with easy location, access to coffee maker, refrigerator, and washer/dryer. It was quiet and clean. Our only frustration was struggling to get the key and return the key from the lockbox. Other than that, we would definitely recommend staying here, and we will return if we are in the area.

Q:"We will be coming from Idaho to visit my sister who is in Skylake Nursing home located at 12080 Bellaire Way, Thornton, CO. Can you tell me how far that is from this property? I will be bring her to visit during the daytime on some days and wonder if a walker would be any problem, what about a wheelchair, if she is in one when we come to visit. She will not be spending any nights. Thanks for your help, in advance"A:"Hello AnitaThank you for the introduction and inquiry. To answer your question, the location is 4.6 mi or 13 mins driving. Please let us know if you have any other questions.Regards,Sonja"Unfortunately I took her omission to answering my questions regrading my sister's ability to gain access to the property that she would have no problems. Also note there are no photos showing after you open that gate and until you open the patio slider. I am including the photos of the steep incline and steps involved in getting on and off the property. They also had a very strange set-up for the bed. It was a queen size mattress and box spring on a king size metal frame. The legs on the frame were also set to maximum height. A bed skirt hid the extended framework thus allowing you to crack your shins! Plus we had to go out and purchase a step stool for me to get on the bed, I am 5'5". Please note the cookware thrown into a cabinet. Also the first items taken from the cupboard to use was a coffee cup and a spoon. Both dirty, we then felt the necessity to wash all.
Great centralized location and privacy. It was clean. Comfortable. Roomy. Had everything I needed during my stay. I work from home and I was able to go to Walmart and Safeway during my lunch hour. I’m happy this location had a washer and dryer. Worth it. I’d stay here again.
We visited for our daughter’s wedding so we weren’t really at the unit much. It was exactly as shown and perfect for our needs. I only gave a 3 star for the communication with property manager because we never actually spoke. However, it truly wasn’t necessary. We would return to this location without hesitation.
The property was nice. I enjoyed having a little kitchen to cook in so we didnt have to eat out all the time. It was close to several restaurants and grocery stores etc., but there are a few nuances that hopefully are resolved before they have another visitor.
The gate: move the handle to open higher up on the door. It's super awkward/difficult to have to bend over to push down on the latch then try to pull the handle under the latch to open when your hands are full.
The bed: Super loud and uncomfortable. Made it difficult to move around for fear of waking up your partner/spouse.
Lack of privacy: there were no curtains on the windows, even in the bedroom, and the blinds didnt close all the way. The sun came in the bedroom at 6AM each morning and made it difficult to sleep in. There would be people who walked by and could see in the front room due to no curtains and blinds not fully closing.
The noise: I feel there was a disregard by whomever was staying above us (maybe the owners). There was loud walking, talking, laughing and music until upwards of 2AM each night. Also, there was some type of drilling/pounding happening at like 845AM.
I just feel if you are going to have tennants below you, then be courteous or put carpet above so it muffles the sound.
Enjoyed my stay at this property. Communication with the owner was very good leading up to the trip.
Overall it was very good.
Location: in a quiet walkable neighborhood. Lots of community parks/greenspace all over.
The Space: is on the bottom floor of a 3 story home. Seems most newer homes in this area are built this way. Access is thru a gate and down a sidewalk on the west side of the property. Spent allot of time in the evenings enjoying the outdoors.
Inside: very comfortable. Large screen ROKU TV with several options, except local TV. Kitchen: full size fridge, full size glass type stove and oven, and a dishwasher. Cooked most of the week due. Bedroom: Good sized and comfortable! Slept well on the mattress and wished I had took a picture of the tag for our next mattress ourchase.
Ibspen a good part of the evenings sitting on the back porch.
Bathroom: walkin shower was a good size. There is also a washer and dryer shared with the 2nd space thru a door in the kitchen.
Cons:
* No individual control of thr HVAC. The temp was in the mid-70's. There are extra blankets and a space heater available through.
* the host family has a young child, and the child runs all in what I assume is the family den area. And is very loud in the space on the bottom floor. Was not a problem most evenings. The child usually runs out of steam around 8ish.
Neither of these are deal breakers. Will probably book here again on my next trip on 5 to 6 months.
Beautiful home & neighborhood with lovely open space park for walks across the street. Enjoyed my visit very much, thank you to the hosts. Kitchen had everything you could need. Lovely apartment, Lots of privacy. Relaxing time, just what I needed.
Nice one bedroom walkout basement apartment. Beautifully decorated and quite cozy. The location was perfect for my stay in Thornton. I will definitely stay here the next time I'm in town.

Nice one bedroom basement apartment in very convenient location to our kids. We were able to buy groceries and eat in rather than so much dining out due to the nice kitchen. Comfortable living room and bedroom. Quiet location. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Host responded quickly when we had questions.
The owner gave thought to a lot of details with this property. I thought it was lovely except for the mattress on the bed. It was truly terrible. Such a shame when everything else was so well done. The location was convenient for our needs.
The noise was consistent from 6 in the morning to 11 at night. They must have been playing hockey on roller skates. Other VRBO people knock on the door and say hello or make sure to catch you outside. It was too discreet. Half of the dishes were dirty. The sofa bed in the couch wasn’t clean. The noise was so bad it was like they were under construction. I have kids, so I get it, but this place is not as advertised. The couch that looks great in the picture is old and moveable. Don’t drink their coffee, also terrible. The bed is so squeaky, it’s not even funny. If you’re the next person to stay there, good luck. I did leave an amusement park cup for Elicht Gardens so future visitors may use it for $1.49 refills.
