About this property

Pool House in Paradise

I have an amazing 3 bedroom 3 bath home on 5 landscaped acres with a pool. The river rock bottom saltwater pool is a refreshing place to cool down after hiking the incredible volcanic crater only a few hundred yards away. The master bedroom includes 1 king and 1 queen bed. The two guest rooms include 2 queens (room 1) and 1 king and queen (room 2). This expansive single story 4000+sqft home includes high vaulted ceilings throughout and an open style living, dining and kitchen space with an island peninsula suitable for entertaining. The game room (room 2)includes a pool table and the front yard has a horseshoe pit, both great places to reconnect with your family and friends. The property has a large variety of fruit trees and a lush coconut palm grove. This unique tropical landscape is perfect for multiple families or a once in a lifetime event. This is the perfect venue for a small wedding, family reunion, memorial or corporate event.

It's the little things
The property was as pictured however there were some things that should be improved. Being a first timer to the Big Island we were concerned about safety and privacy. In the main living space there are no blinds or window coverings. In the primary several blinds were broken off leaving gaps making it easy for strangers to look in. We were a little worried upon arriving so we got some tape & used the extra sheets to place over windows in the bedrooms so no one can look in. When we walked in it had an awful smell like mildew, probably from not being aired out for some time. We turned all the fans on and when we came back later that night it was much better. But the room with the pool table smelled the worst even after airing it out best we could. The kitchen is spacious but only one oven worked & two of the 4 burners worked. The pans were old & overdue for replacing. The king bed in the primary was rock hard, had to switch to the other bed which softer. Towels were old, scratchy, thin. The tub in the master bath couldn't get filled up bc the thing used to plug the water wasn't very good & the hot water ran out every time we would try & fill it. I reached out to the owner about no hot water but was told he was on the other side and there was nothing he could do & "good luck". I understand that he was far away but to tell me good luck was unnecessary, who says that to guests?! I feel there should be a plan in place when the host is unavailable to assist with those types of things.
