Enjoy a peaceful weekend away from the big city in a charming Useless Bay guesthouse. This cozy, well-appointed and just-plain-CUTE cabin was remodeled in 2015 with you in mind. The Double Bluff Guesthouse is comprised of a kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. Uniquely situated on a 2-acre property with private access -- its own deck, door, driveway and laundry -- it stands on its own. The cabin is a perfect home base for up to two guests to kick back and relax.

Our guesthouse is conveniently located minutes from Double Bluff Beach, so you can get outdoors and easily explore the wonders of Whidbey. Play at the beach or walk the neighborhood loop; be sure to birdwatch along the way. Visit the farmer's market, The Clyde, a charming local bistro or a coffee shop. Hike, paddleboard, windowshop or dine while you are here. Whatever your pleasure, we hope you'll make yourself at home.

Our stay at Quaint Double Bluff Guesthouse near Useless Bay

Double Bluff Guesthouse was a great choice for our visit to Whidbey Island. It is a short walk to a wonderful beach (where dogs are welcome and can be off leash). We enjoyed a walk there every morning during our stay. Our hosts Abi and Paul were responsive and very welcoming. They left a nice card and dark chocolate candy bar on the table to welcome us. The place was super clean and quiet and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. We would choose to stay there again.

Excellent visit!

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay in the Double Bluff Guesthouse! The hosts were easy to communicate with and the space was just what we had expected. The one downside to this location is that you will have to drive everywhere except the beach. But it is a quiet, cozy location worth visiting!

Great Little Space Near the Water

My husband and I were in this area for a beach wedding. This house was in a perfect location for an easy walk or quick drive to the beach. The house was small but had everything we needed for a short stay. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had everything needed to make a meal if needed. It was a short drive to coffee and restaurants. We definitely recommend this home.

Karate Training

My karate teacher of 30 + years is now living in Freeland, and this was a great location as a home base to visit with him and do additional training. After the workouts it was great to come back to a clean place and relax in a peaceful setting. And the washer/dryer came in very handy!

Incredibly Impressed

Abby and Paul are amazing hosts and incredibly accommodating. Apart from the accommodation being excellent, they were kind to help us reschedule our stay at their place from last summer, when circumstances caused changes to our ability to stay at their place. Since we were unable to get a refund, they generously offered us a time to stay within the year. Our daughter and son-in-law stayed there instead, and they reported that the place was lovely and very close to a beautiful beach.

solo weekend getaway

I had a relaxing getaway. The cottage is cute and clean, comfy bed. Would have been nice to have at least one chair on the deck. While it technically does have a TV, be aware that there's no cable. I mostly enjoyed the peace and solitude, though the teenagers at the house made that difficult the first night. Walks to the beach and blackberry picking were wonderful.

And you'll be pleased to hear that we've given our teenagers up for adoption. OK, not really; the teenagers are here to stay. BUT we've reminded them to be mindful of their volume when they're passing through. Please accept our sincere apologies for any disruptions. We're glad you had a relaxing stay.

Very comfortable bed, nice living area, good shower, ample linens. Kitchen well-stocked. Tastefully and simply decorated. Owners live close and are responsive to requests for assistance.A few concerns, which might not trouble other lodgers:•The coded front door lock was impossible for me to turn right--despite many tries. I resorted to using the provided key to unlock the door instead.•The small deck has badly peeling coating--i didnt want to use it.•Brighter bulbs/larger lamps in bedroom and living room would be appreciated. Only one bedside table and lamp--great for a single lodger, maybe not for a couple.•Refrigerator ran a lot and was super loud. Luckily, closing the bedroom door dampened the sound well.

Good small accommodation

Not sure I would use "cozy" as an accurate description. The connotation of charming that comes with cozy is not there. The ambiance is more sterile Hospital room. The bed is great but walls are so close it is necessary to sidestep around to other side. Kitchen is well outfitted but one cabinet door has a broken hinge. Bathroom shower is very low water pressure and the hard water makes it difficult to rinse off the soap. Was very nice to have laundry access. Thank you Ami and Barry your rental is clean and very close to the beach, we would rent again if back in the area. Thank you.

Absolutely loved staying at Double Bluff Getaway! Gorgeous little guest home just far enough away from civilization but close enough to still drive for a delicious dinner in Langley or Freeland. The quiet, peaceful home was the most perfect place for us. I’ll definitely be staying again! Hopefully for our 5th anniversary. :) Abi and Paul are the best!!

Lower end Whidbey island

Perfect place for a couple to stay. Spacious living/ding/kitchen area, separate bedroom and a bathroom. Parking adjacent to building, and laundry facilities if required. Short drive to shopping and eating places. Quiet, and within walking distance of Double Bluff Country Park beach. We’ll placed for exploring the lower to mid parts of Whidbey island.
