Snead Island Getaway

We've completely renovated this 2 story home. We have tried to think of everything to accommodate a few adults up to an extended family or large group of friends. Whether hanging by the pool, taking a walk/bike along the shores of Emerson Point, golfing, heading for the beach, or fishing, your Snead Island Getaway home is well located.

You can fish right from the dock, take your boat, or borrow our kayaks for a short paddle into Terra Ceia Bay. Sea trout, snook, redfish, drum, ladyfish, sheepshead, saltwater catfish are abundant. We have fishing poles and basic tackle for you to use if you don't bring yours. The bait shop is 5 blocks away!

Looking for the beach? If you bring your boat you can take it to Anna Maria island faster that you can drive a car... about 5 miles across Terra Ceia Bay. Otherwise take the car... its only 6-7 miles, but takes about 20-25 minutes. OR... right on the tip of Snead island (Emerson Point Preserve)... a 15 minute walk, or a 2 minute drive, is a small beach right where the Manatee river, Terra Ceia Bay and Tampa Bay meet. There are no crashing waves like the nearby beaches, but the water is clear, the sand white, and its a perfect place to take the really little kids where you can keep an eye on them while they play in the water. Bathrooms are there and places for a picnic.

If you want a boat for fishing, cruising, going to the beach, or several waterfront restaurants, we rent our boat under separate agreement!

No need to pack bulky beach towels, we have plenty!

We do have an "energy/electricity" fee for the House AC, firepit, heated pool & spa, and gas grill. It is included in the pricing total. During the winter the propane bill for the firepit and pool/spa heat is astronomical... as is the electrical bill for AC cranking 24/7 during the summer. We may give discount for the milder weathermonths. Extra guest fees of $20/night for number of guests over 8. There's more wear and tear, more cleaning, higher utility bills, and the cleaning crew often cannot finish the towel and linen laundering before the next guest arrive later the same day, requiring them to take it off premises, or hire extra staff. Please note that the front door patio, driveway (which has back yard access), and the boat dock are under video surveillance This is solely for security while there are no guests at the house.

Please note that the house is a Bi-level. The lower level walks out to the pool/spa/dock. Someone that has troubles with stairs may want a different property.

Rental Agreement/house rules/pet addendum must be signed and returned to us within 72 hours of booking confirmation, or we reserve the right to cancel your reservation. You will find a link to this document at the bottom of the acceptance email you will receive when you book. If you wish to see it beforehand, you can email us to request it. We really have striven to make this a wonderful place for a family or extended family to stay. We think you will really enjoy this home. We've maximized the space and amenities to allow a larger group, which will help make your vacation a very affordable one and a great value for your hard earned dollars. Hopefully the reviews are testament that we have succeeded.
