Lovely period home which is beautifully furnished. Clean and a lovely array of breakfast and yummy goodies. Great location within easy reach of all of Tanundas eateries. We had a fabulous stay!
Lovely cottage, convenient, quiet location, easy walk to everything. Stayed for our anniversary - card, bubbles and gift basket on arrival - so thoughtful.
We all really enjoyed Johanns cottage. Plenty of room for 2 couples, clean and in a great location. Breakfast provisions and the hamper was plentiful and you thought of everything. I can thoroughly recommend a stay here.
Great hosts - excellent communication, very generous provisions left at the property for us.
The bed was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. Lovely books and magazines to browse.
Had a great stay. Cottage was great for our needs and located close to town centre. Very welcoming.
Only downside was limited TV channels (no sport) in the evenings and no WiFi.
We had a wonderful stay in johanns cottage in tanunda. Walking distance to all the shops/ cafes in tanunda and an easy drive to the other towns in the barossa. The brekky foods supplied were lovely and having a good coffee machine was much appreciated.
Overall, a great stay.
Very comfortable cottage with an interesting history dating back to the 1860’s. You can go up and down in life simply by walking around in the house - no 2 floors are at the same level.
Johann’s Cottage proved to be a wonderful step back into history and the perfect location to base ourselves for our time in the Barossa. Our generous hosts provided an abundance of goodies and thoughtful extra supplies to ensure a very enjoyable experience was had.
The room was well appointed, clean and spacious. Car parking at my door. An indoor swimming pool on site although I didn’t use it as I walked to the beech and had a swim in the ocean.
A quaint historical cottage in the heart of Tanunda
A historic well set up cottage with lots of memorabilia.
Short walk to anywhere in Tanunda including the fabulous FermentAsian.
A great base to explore all the Barossa has to offer.
Be sure to go into APEX bakery another living historic site. Ask nicely and the team will let you in to see the original oven form 1924!! And the bread is amazing!!
This is a lovely cottage - in the main street of Tanunda, only a few hundred metres from the Tanunda Hotel. I stayed there for two nights with a friend and the hosts, Mark and Tanya, provided lots of extra 'goodies' to make the stay more enjoyable. Lots of historical memorabilia and superbly outfitted and decorated. A real 'step back in time'. We rated it 10/10.
This was a comfortable and well-located accommodation.
In the main street of Tanunda it was easy get to cafes and restaurants and good shopping - especially loved the Iron Cottage.
The owners set us up with very welcoming complimentary goodies, biscuits, chocolate, wine, cereals and bread. Very thoughtful.
Everything you needed was on site. Sleep was comfortable.
A beautifully appointed 1800's cottage featuring memorabilia from a past time. Great location in the heart of the Barossa , walking distance to the township of Tanunda, topped off by a generous "Welcome Pack" upon arrival. You will not be disappointed.
Beautiful cozy residence, clean and tidy. Wife loved the basket of goodies, bubbly and greeting message. Will definitely book again. My only other comment would be, they may need to look at new mattresses.
Cheers Geoff & Mel.
Beautifully set up property. Lots of reminders of our childhood. A little noisy on the main street and stuffy without fresh air. Great communication from hosts prior and during stay but nothing about some feedback we sent or something that didn't work.
Very generous supplies. clean house. Shower facilities rather difficult for us as we are in our 80s. Accommodation otherwise excellent. Appreciated being able to ring owners when we had a problem.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was carefully decorated to evoke its history and it is very convenient to Tanunda town. Kitchen and bathroom are well-equipped and modern (no dishwasher for obvious reasons - there's no room). The rooms are small by modern standards, again reflecting its 19th-century origins. Someone with mobility limitations might find it a little inconvenient. But that is what comes with a charming historical property. Highly recommended for adults seeking a quiet retreat.
