Devitt on French B&B is a step back to the old charms of yesteryear with the modern amenities that make for the perfect escape to the Barossa Valley. We do not have Wi Fi available as we would like you to relax and enjoy the house, Angaston and the Barossa in general. Built in1860. Regular cleaning is done with disinfectant products twice pre and post all bookings, hand sanitiser is available on premises plus antiviral spray and antiviral hand wash.
Complete privacy with a magnificent look out from the front verandah for your morning coffee. Ideally set amongst the oldest houses in Angaston shaded by large old trees, this quiet street is an easy walking distance to the main street coffee shops, wine tasting rooms, popular restaurants, and more. Check yourself in on arrival and enjoy the complementary Barossa wine.
Devitt on French is a renovated stone cottage with style and charm. This 2 bedroom luxurious cottage was built in1860 from marble quarried on site. Original decorative coal fire places in each bedroom (decorative only). The cottage has housed many Angaston families over its life and now open for visitors to enjoy and relax in.
It has a fully equipped kitchen that will entice you to become the aspiring creative chief. With a modern 5 burner gas cooktop and electric oven, dishwasher and microwave along with the old Metters wood stove (decorative) still in its original place in the kitchen. A picnic basket fully equiped for you to enjoy lunch on the front lawn under the apple tree.
A collection of antiques including crockery and a silver tea set that are there for you to used and enjoyed during your stay to experience high tea at its best. BBQ facilities available with outdoor fire pit (to be used in the cooler months) and a bath tub and shower that will exceed all expectations. Bathroom essentials are available such as soap, shampoo and conditioner, razors and a shaving brush.
Breakfast essentials available include; Nespresso Delonghi coffee, a variety of Australian tea's, milk, bread, Vegemite, jams plus a bottle of Barossa wine are part of your food hamper on arrival.
Enjoy the comfort of the modern lounge after completing your fine dining at the 1940's dining table set out in style with crockery of the same era.
Enjoy the view from the front verandah for breakfast while overlooking the extended lawn surrounded by the fragrance of Princess De Monaco roses and hedged garden area providing privacy.
Angaston's main street is a short 5 min walk away with shops, cafe's, cellar door wine tastings, great restaurants, ATM, bakery, butcher, local parkland, bicycle path lined with artistic sculptures, GP rooms, chemist, supermarket that is open 7 days per week until 7pm and all within a 5 min walk amongst beautiful tree lined streets.
Bedroom Usage
The first bedroom is a twin share with the second bedroom priced at $90 each additional guest. Maximum number of guests in the cottage is 4 adults.
Additional cleaning charges will occur if 2 bedrooms are used for a booking for 2 people. If additional people not pre booked stay during your booking and /or I am not informed $100 per person per night will be charged. I am happy to work with you if you need to makes changes to your booking at anytime
Long term stays
( more than 7 days) will receive linen each week.
If cleaning and making of beds is required during long term stays additional cost will be charged.
Long term guests will be met personally on arrival.
Long term guests will have a weekly house inspection.
An introductory breakfast selection is offered for long term stays that includes a selection of condiments, milk, margarine, a loaf of bread, eggs, vegetables, tea and coffee plus coffee pods.
Additional food will be the responsibility of the guest(s).
Hosts will attend to the garden during long term stays on a weekly basis.

I have lived in the fabulous Barossa Valley for many years and love what each Barossa season brings. A glorious array of fresh seasonal food, wine and the ever changing colourful landscape of the valley.
Why they chose this property
Devitt on French B&B is a delightful cottage that has an amazing collection of antique that you can use and explore. From the 1940's dinner set to the black and white photo album with original pictures of Paris in the 1950's, to siting on the front verandah surrounded by the fresh sweet smell of the Princess Da Monaco roses. Or relax on the contemporary extended lounge overlooking the outdoor patio and garden. Each room is fitted with memorabilia from 1940 to contemporary artworks from award winning Australian artists. With the amazing bathroom having a tub big enough for two to move and the rain head shower will make you feel amazing. Every room and every entertaining area will delight your senses. With 2 Queen size luxurious beds looking out to the front garden, white picket fence and the old Jacaranda tree. Every view is beautiful. We do not have Wi Fi available as we would like you to relax and enjoy the house, Angaston and the Barossa in general.
