Property was beautiful and plenty of room for a large family. Very peaceful location and close to lots of activities. Owner was easy to work with . Would recommend this property and hope to stay there again!
We loved the place. The amenities provided were well thought off, we as guests can tap into the sound system and play music, we can use services on the TV without a fuss. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils, ziplocks, trash etc. All items in the kitchen were working.Enjoyed the vast expanse of land around the property, and we could roam around without issues.Jim, the property manager, was there to welcome us on time, and he showed us around the property and answered all our questions. He reached out early before the snow to inform about potential snow plowing, etc., as well.
Beautiful property! Please note no or minimal air conditioning or f booking in summer.

Thank you for the great review, Tara. And that is correct, we have no air conditioning in the house and and can sometimes get hot in the summer. Most of the time it cools off at night. True mountain living!
We had 10 guys staying in the area to go to Tanglewood. We were one short on having a separate bed for everyone. If there has been even one couple, it would have been perfect. There were tons of beds, many of them queen sized in their own room. Would be a great spot for a few families to get together. Lots of space indoors and outdoors to spend time together.
This location was amazing for a ski weekend at Jiminy Peak with our family. It is only about 5 min from the mountain.
The property is huge and private and our kids had an amazing time playing in the snow.
The owner Jon was very responsive from our booking through the end of our stay, and was a pleasure to deal with.
Great house with lots of different areas to spread out and relax. Super fun and we appreciated the free goodies and firewood. Will definitely come back.
We were celebrating our daughter's college graduation at the house. It was perfect for all of our needs- a table big enough for all of us, spacious sitting areas inside and out and plenty of room for us all to be together without feeling cramped. The house had everything that we needed and the property was beautiful
This home is absolutely beautiful and is perfect for a weekend getaway - we spent the long weekend golfing at nearby courses but I wish we could have spent more time at the house. The home itself is spacious and modern, and the deck and fire pit was ideal for evening relaxing. Both the owner and caretaker were welcoming and catered to all of our needs. Excited to book another trip out!
This house had everything for everyone. Perfect for the parents and kids to do things together and independently. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the rustic charm and modern comforts. The peaceful surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation, especially cozying up by the fireplaces. The host was incredibly attentive and welcoming, ensuring a seamless stay. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a tranquil escape in the beautiful Berkshires from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We can't wait to return!
My family and I just got back from the best weekend! This Lanesborough home was just perfect. The layout was so accommodating for our family. Communication was very easy. The hosts were really easy to work with. The house was very clean. It was stocked with everything and more we could have needed. Definitely giving this home and the hosts 5 STARS! We hope to get back to this incredible house for another getaway in the future!
My wife and I just returned from a long July 4th Weekend stay in this terrific house.
Our party consisted of three couples. The house is large, with three King-Bedrooms, plus many bathrooms and assorted other bedrooms that would be great for children. Both the house and the property on which it sits are beautiful and obviously well maintained. There's a nice, well-stocked kitchen and a large dining room and living room. There are multiple TVs. Every electronic convenience has been thoughtfully provided.
But the biggest plus of the house is that there is tons of space to spread out. For multiple adult couples, the layout was ideal. It would work just as well for a large family.
Bottom line: We would stay here again without even a second's hesitation!
We were provided an organized list of instructions for checking in/out as well as things to do in the area for different groups/situations before our stay. Jim the caretaker was great in providing instructions when checking-in, and both Jim and Jon were great when it came to answering any questions in a timely manner and also making sure we were taken care of. The property itself is very warm and inviting, the amount of windows/sunlight and areas to lounge as a group is awesome! We especially thought the kitchen was stocked well with everything you would need to cook meals for large groups and was fun to use. The area around the property is very picturesque and peaceful, but also feels like you can hang with your friends and make some noise (not too much) without disturbing the neighbors, which, we are a loud (in speaking volume) group, so that was definitely great to not have to worry about disturbing anyone. We really loved our stay and would definitely look to come back to the property if we find ourselves in the Berkshires again.
We had 13 family members at the property and it was wonderful! Jon was super helpful and accommodating. Jim the manager was so lovely and always responsive to any needs we had. The kids loved the children’s bedrooms and ping pong in basement and all of the games left for us to use. The adults loved all of the space to relax in and the property to take walks on. The kitchen and dining room easily fit all of us and the living room couches did as well. It truly is a place to cozy up with four fireplaces and take scenic walks. The house had all of the comforts of home. We skied at Jiminy less than ten minutes away and snow tubed at bousquet 25 minutes away and both were easy to get to. We enjoyed District Kitchen and Bar in Pittsfield and there were plenty of shops nearby for anything we needed. Thank you to Jon and his property manager Jim for truth going above and beyond to make our stay feel like home and a place for 13 family members to welcome in the New Year! We would love to rent the property again. Grateful for our stay!
The house was filthy! There were bugs, dust and dog beds everywhere. The bathrooms hadn’t been cleaned and there were hairballs in the showers and toilet stains. We had to clean our own toilets to feel comfortable using them. The carpets were stained. There were broken windows in the kitchen, missing knobs on the gas stove, and lamps held together with duct tape. The worst part is that the owner is claiming that we did $20,000 worth of damages. Perhaps this is how he will get his filthy carpets replaced.
Our vacation has turned into a huge headache. Stay away from this place!

After years and years of hosting amazing guests from around the world, Catherine and her guests decided to use fireworks throughout our house and damaged walls, carpets, waste bins, you name it. We've never seen anything like this. So upsetting, and so disappointed in VRBO not doing a better job screening their customers for us. After dozens of 5 star ratings, and zero complaints, I hope future renters will be able to discern fact from fiction.
The house in Lanesborough was a perfect setting for a Thanksgiving gathering! The kitchen and dining room were plenty big enough for everything we were cooking and reheating. There was lots of space to spread out, watch TV, play ping-pong and enjoy the beautiful grounds.
We loved our stay at the home. Lots of great spaces both inside and outside. The house was well equipped. The kids loved the basketball hoop and the ping pong table! The adults loved the beautiful panoramic views and pleasant mountain breezes. Jon was very easy to deal with as a host and his property manager Jim was super reposnsive. Thanks for everything!
Place was great. Overall very positive experience. Two small things: I wish there was a coffee maker there —- there is a keurig which is nice but we brought grounds and couldn’t use them. Even a simple French press would have been fine. Also the listing shows up as having a hot tub on vrbo but really there is only a bath tub upstairs with jets. Kids loved the jets, no doubt, but I had kinda been looking forward to a hot tub for us adults. Otherwise it was a great place with lots of stuff to do and plenty of places to lounge.

Thanks Ken, so glad you loved the house. Just an FYI - the listing says JACUZZI and KEURIG and we provide unlimited free coffee to all our guests. Come back and see us again!
The house was perfect for a family ski getaway — well-equipped, very spacious and yet very cozy, with a lodge-like feel. The rooms were ideal if you have a few families with kids of varying ages. We had three girls stay in one of the rooms and they didn’t want to leave! The kitchen area was spacious and well-equipped, and the dining table was big enough to seat a big family comfortably. We enjoyed gathering for coffee or movie night on the big, soft couch in the sunken living room, next to one of the many fireplaces. It was just a short drive to the Jiminy Peak ski area — very convenient. The property was gorgeous and was conducive to sledding after a snowstorm. The caretaker (jim) quickly addressed a plumbing issue we had upon our arrival and was available when we needed him. We may be back next year!
This was by far the finest Vrbo experience I’ve ever had! The property is gorgeous with breathtaking taking views from everywhere. The house was clean, spacious, well maintained and had every amenity one could possibly need. There are plenty of cozy areas to relax and entertain in. Jon was accommodating and responsive to any questions. Additionally, Jim, the house manager, welcomed us upon our arrival and gave us the lay of the land. I would highly recommend this rental and looking forward to returning. Thanks for an enjoyable and rejuvenating weekend in the beautiful Berkshires.
My group of friends and I really enjoyed staying at the house and the area that it’s in. The house had more than enough room, was in good condition, and is very private.
This was my second trip to the property, and once again it was everything we had hoped for in a mountain getaway! Tons of space for sleeping and we got to enjoy the deck and lawn with the nice weather. Local golf and breweries are within minutes!

About the host
Hosted by Jon Loew
We love to travel but we also love having a place to call our own. We love this property and use it whenever it's not being rented. We designed the house to be comfortable for us - a family with kids who likes to lounge, eat, cook, hike, ski and nap - and spacious enough for multiple families to share.
Why they chose this property
This is perfect for multiple families to share. Lots of hang-out areas. The house is big enough so that 12-15 people can all be in the house and never feel on top of each other. This us truly a hidden gem in the berkshires.
