A nice home for the holidays

The house suited our purposes perfectly. It's in a nice quiet neighborhood and the check in process was really convenient. The owner was always immediately available to answer any questions even though it was over the holidays. We rented the whole house, so having the extra room downstairs and access to the big backyard was nice since we wanted to host some of our family over the course of our long stay. The bathrooms are nicely renovated. Only suggestion I would make is that they replace the couch in the living room because it's a bit awkward and uncomfortable. It was nice that they have Netflix available to watch on the TV's in the house - as well as an HDMI cable on the TV in the living room. The home is exactly as we hoped for. A place we could call home while we were there and we appreciated the hospitality and flexibility of Joel while we were there. His communication during our stay was greatly appreciated.

Nice House too many rules, expensive fees, internet slow.

We were coming into Seattle for wedding on August 20th. Needed the house for only three nights but there was a 4 night minimum stay. We were willing to pay for the extra night still cheaper than 3 hotel rooms for 3 nights. However when we got the quote the cleaning fee for the 4 nights was quite high and got charged for 2 extra persons. (we were party of 6 and there are 3 bedrooms so you would think that there would be no extra charge for 6 people). There was also service fee. But anyway still with the fees it came out cheaper than the hotel. We didn't want to bother with cleaning and we were not eating or even being in the house except for sleeping. When we got the check in information it was a long list. We had to sort the recycle, separate garbage perishable from non perishable. drag the garbage cans out to the curb on Monday and I then drag the garbage cans back in. Leave the premises as we had received it. Run the dishwasher too. This was a little confusing, where we supposed to clean the house before leaving? I emailed Joel the owner the night before and asked if we were supposed to empty all the wastebaskets in the bathrooms and what was expected of us. I did inform him we had only used a couple of glasses for drinking water and did not have garbage or recycle. What I got back was a "copied and pasted" page from the house rules. And again it stated that we had to do all of the above plus we had to strip the bed sheets take all the towels and leave it all in the bathtub, or they would keep back money. My husband said ok we can drag the garbage cans out to the curb. But when he went to do it the garbage can was so full of garbage, it was heavy. It was apparent that no one had done this and shouldn't the cleaning people be doing this? That's what the expensive cleaning fee is for. This is when I lost it and i called the owner. I said I am supposed to spend the night before I leave cleaning the house? What is the cleaning fee for? It is a vacation and I did not come here to clean. He gave me a story about how other people left apartment dirty and took six hours. Well the amount we paid for the cleaning fee was more than enough to pay the cleaning lady six hour and more. Also the internet was slow and only worked intermittently. Not good if you are planning to do work. House was ok and clean, but we did find huge spiders in the bathrooms. His excuse that in summer in Seattle there are spiders.

Awesome rental in Redmond!

This Redmond property was exactly as listed. Clean, spacious and in a quiet neighborhood. We used to live in Samammish and have since moved to California. We needed a base of operations while on our vacation to Seattle and this proved to be perfect for us. We were surprised by the new toll on the 520 bridge but managed to avoid it after the one time crossing. The location of the rental is close enough to freeways to be convenient no matter which direction you are travelling. Plenty of restaurants and shopping are super close too. Our 10 day stay included the entire house (upstairs and downstairs). Plenty of fans were available for warmer weather and there were space heaters to supplement in case of cold weather. The back yard was gorgeous with mature pine trees and plenty of flat space for kids to play. The wi-fi was important for my family and worked perfectly our entire trip. The mattress in the master suite was too hard for my taste but I do like a SOFT mattress. Our kids loved sharing the bed in one room and my mom and my mother-in-law enjoyed having their own rooms to retreat to. The kitchen was big enough to accommodate us for breakfasts and snacks. We weren't usually at the house for lunch or dinner. We brought along our own Uno cards and found some normal playing cards at the house to help with minor down-time boredom. Overall- I would definitely recommend this property for any family visiting the area. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer listing for the price. The owners were gracious and responsive.

Family Friendly House

This was our first time using VRBO, and this house was perfect for our family. Our family consisted of grandparents, parents and two small children, so the two level house with a studio on the first level and three bedrooms and one bathroom on the second level was great. (Although, we had a lot of trouble figuring out how to access the studio on our first day, because the entry is from the back yard.) We used the kitchen every day to make breakfast and made dinner there using the grill most evenings (they have most everything, even a rice cooker, a keurig and a hot pot, but buy an ice cream scoop if you bring ice cream back). The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean. We had to wash most things that we used in the kitchen, but I think that had more to do with prior visitors than how the owner keeps the house. There were lots of toys that our kids (1.5 and 3.5) could play with, which made it a welcome retreat at the end of the day. It was also nice to have a washer and dryer available. The neighborhood is very pleasant and the neighbors are friendly. It is a quiet residence with beautiful tall cedars in the backyard. I would definitely stay here again if I were in the area and the house were available.

Comfortable Home for Corporate Team

I recently stayed at the home with several co-workers. We found the house to be very comfortable and convenient to all of the attractions in the Bellvue / Redmond / Sammamish area. The best feature was the porch and backyard where our group enjoyed grilling out many times and sitting and enjoying the evening. The only thing that disappointed our group was that there was no cable television, which made it challenging to watch sports and live entertainment. That being said, each TV did have an option for Netflix or antenna channels, so we were not left in the cold in terms of evening entertainment options. High speed internet allowed for many streaming devices to work optimally at the same time. I would absolutely stay here again if traveling in the area. Owners were incredibly fast to reply if we had questions.
