Sweet Hula Hut
We spent 12 nights in this sweet Hula Hut. It was very comfortable, clean, well maintained and equipped, and the location was peaceful and relaxing. We loved the pool with the little deck and we had some great barbecues! Thank you so much to our gracious hosts Vickie and Wesley. We hope to be back!

South Point Paradise
We had a great stay. The owners were very helpful and kind if we needed anything. Clean, quiet place to stay. Close to south point, whittington beach park, black sand beach, green sand beach and southern most bakery in the US. Recommend to stay here if you're looking to enjoy the area.

Great stay in luxury yurt
This was a unique and excellent property. It was fun staying in the yurt with a great kitchen and luxurious bath. Plenty of solar power and hot water. We rolled up one side of the canvas for an nice indoor outdoor feel. Although we didn’t use the above ground pool, it looked clean and inviting. Don’t hesitate to book this when you’re in the area.

Originally form Washington state, I moved to Hawaii in 1988. After my first trip to Hawaii, I knew this was where I wanted to spend the rest of my life! I worked for UPS and Fedex for 17 years and now I am a practicing artist. You can see my paintings and jewelry designs at I love to snorkel, beach comb, quad ride, and just enjoy the wonderful warm temperatures of Hawaii and all the beauty here. I raised 4 chickens named Bulah, Chicken Little, Big Birtha and Ruby and have a cat named Snickers and a dog named Bella. I love the outdoors! I manage several vacation rentals in the district of Kau on the Big Island of Hawaii also known as the county of Hawaii. There's a saying here that the Big Island IS Hawaii. I roast my own coffee. Its available on Ebay under Hawaiian Coffee Company. A Hawaiian lady once told me, "God made the heavens and earth in 6 days and then stopped and looked around and said "Somethings missing"...And then He created HAWAII." I hope you enjoy it it here as much as I do. Aloha! Victoria

Why they chose this property

Its quiet and private and The Yurt and everything in it is new. Smells like a new house! Its close to town or to catch the bus. Its half way between Hilo and Kona. (Aprox 60 miles) Great area for exploring the Southern side of the island. South Point, Black Sands beach, Green Sands beach, Kawa beach which is an old Hawaiian fishing village that was destroyed by a title wave with no survivors. It has lots of Mana. Also close by is Honu' Apo ( Turtle Cove) state park where the Hawaiian green sea turtles (Honu) lay their eggs. Camping or just day picnicking, snorkeling, swimming, fishing are among the activities to do there. Just sit and watch the waves, relax and read a book on a lounge chair.

What makes this property unique

I love the dome in the Yurt. I love to watch the white puffy clouds roll by and how much light it lets in. The large covered deck lets you relax with the gentle breeze while enjoying a cup of Kona coffee. It has an ultra-violet water purification system that takes out 99.9% of all bacteria and viruses out of the water so you can shower and drink PURE rain water without any harsh chlorine or fluoride.Low carbon footprint using solar power from the sun. Great back roads to walk in the morning. Closest friendly neighbors are over 200 feet away. Jason sells fresh caught fish down on Wakea st. daily which is connected West of Lewa Lani St. Go get some and fry it up. You'll love it! He will tell you how to prepare it if you ask. There is also an organic vegetable garden on South Point (Paradise meadows Orchard & bee farm) and pick up some macadamia nuts, chocolate and honey. you'll also find a great coffee place at Ka Lae on South Point road sit outside and enjoy a great Kona coffee Mocha. There is also a farmers market in Naalehu on Wednesdays loaded with good stuff from Veggies, tropical fruits, honey, craft vendors of all kinds. Don't forget to stop in Flyin Hawaiian coffee stand for some music and coffee.
