About this property
Three Sisters Cottage + Clubhouse + Ocean View + Yard + Great Location
Greetings from Dan and DJ! Our family has vacationed in Kure Beach since the 1930s, and Three Sisters has been in our family since the 1970s. In 2017, we completed a major renovation that combines modern amenities with authentic vintage charm.
The property consists of a cottage and a detached garage — Man Cave/Ladies Lounge with a unique Clubhouse loft space above. It’s perfect for an extended family or friends to vacation together and yet still have unique spaces to retreat to.
THE COTTAGE
If you like a classic beach house, this is it! It’s not too big and not too small. The Cottage comfortably accommodates 6 in three bedrooms. The primary bedroom features a queen bed and en-suite bath. A guest room also has a queen bed. The bunk room has two twin beds. A full guest bath has a large walk-in shower. The Cottage has a large open kitchen and great room with plenty of space for socializing.
THE CLUBHOUSE
The charming loft space above the garage has an open plan with 4 single beds that can be moved to make king beds if desired. The space is very quiet and it has a TV and can double as a rec room for the kids, a retreat for couples, or an office workspace. The loft has the original yellow pine floors and and is paneled with classic Eastern Carolina V-groove boards. There is a half bath downstairs.
LADIES' LOUNGE/MAN CAVE
Our guests have access to the garage below. There you will find a large refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, a large commercial sink for cleaning fish, a washer and dryer, and work table. Here, you have ample space to store beach gear, bikes, and fishing gear. The room has been paneled with vintage siding salvaged from the cottage. You have access to the half bath as well.
OCEANVIEW
The property is on the second row back from the beach—you can see and hear the waves! Walk barefoot to the beach across the lawn. Our family has the house in front. You don’t have to cross a busy highway.
CONVENIENT
Our guests say the setting and location are perfect. The center of town is less than 2 blocks away: A 4 minute stroll takes you to the pier, shops, diner, restaurants, bars, and coffee, hamburger, and ice cream stands. Get a gallon of milk at the mini-mart. Forget the car!
AMENITIES INCLUDED
We provide linens, bath towels, beach towels, and basic supplies (soaps, paper products, etc.). The kitchen is well-stocked for those that like to cook.
PARKING
Parking is available for 3 cars.

About the host
Hosted by DJ Peterson and Dan Nadeau

Greetings from Dan and DJ! Our family has been coming to Kure Beach since the 1930s. (Look for DJ in the photo!) Our family has owned the house next door since 1954. This property has been owned by our family since 1974, and we were lucky to acquire it in 2015 to continue a family tradition. We are happy to share it and the community with others. Thank you for considering our vacation home.
Why they chose this property
People say Kure Beach is a gem. We love this place because it is family oriented, has a great small-town vibe, and there is so much to do in the area. And, of course, we love the clean water, rolling surf, fishing, and beachcombing. Our grandfather, DJ Karras, would sit on the deck and say "This is it!".
What makes this property unique
If you like a classic beach cottage, This is it! It’s not too big and not too small. The Studio Loft provides flexibility and a little getaway for extended family and friends. The garage has plenty of space to store your beach gear, bikes, and fishing equipment. Fishermen will love the large commercial sink for cleaning fish. Guests say the setting and location are perfect. The beach is just steps away and you don’t have to cross a busy highway to get there. The center of town is less than 2 blocks away: A 4 minute stroll takes you to the pier, shops, restaurants and bars, and the hamburger and ice cream stand. Get a gallon of milk at the mini-mart and forget the car! Our property manager, Ann, lives nearby and will greet you when you arrive. Ann can give you tips on where to go and what to see and she is available in case of an emergency.
