About the host
Hosted by Larissa VanderPloeg

We love to host people! Hospitality is a big part of our life, and we hope that is evident when you stay in our Fort Russell Cottage. We want you to feel at home and able to focus on family and friends during your visit, and enjoy Moscow as much as we do! This is why you won't see a big (or small) TV in the middle of the living room! We've spent the last couple of years fixing up this lovely place (we still have lots to do), and we've discovered that we love old homes, full of history and memories and beauty.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this cozy cottage built in 1900 the first time we visited (by Skype!). We've tried to give it a calming coastal air, though it is situated in Moscow's historic Fort Russell district, in the middle of the beautiful rolling Palouse. Lots of lovely old windows brighten up the rooms, and there's plenty of living and dining space to host a friendly gathering.
What makes this property unique
This sweet home is just up the street from all the Moscow action! Only a block from the library, and a short walk to downtown restaurants and the seasonal Farmer's Market. Walking distance from parks, U of I, and a quick drive to WSU.
