This warm, clean and modern 4 bedroom house has been purpose built with holidaymakers in mind, and it's just had a makeover!

Perfect for a large family (or two small ones!), or three couples - make this your base to explore Wanaka and the outdoor activities our town has to offer.

The house boasts an open plan kitchen and living area with a new lounge suite and bean bags, flat screen TV and unlimited WiFi. The dining table seats 8 people, or four of you can perch at the breakfast bar. The living area opens out onto an all-weather outdoor BBQ area, and a modest back lawn. As you'd expect, the kitchen is fully equipped, including a large oven/hob, dishwasher, microwave and a large walk-in-pantry with a second fridge (just in case you want to chill your bevvies), plus a separate laundry with washing machine, drier and direct access to the back lawn and clothesline.

There are four bedrooms, which can sleep up to seven adults in total (a council restriction) - 8 people including children. The master bedroom (King) offers direct access to the back garden, plus ensuite bathroom and walk in wardrobe. The middle room has two single beds (can be converted to a King) and a built in wardrobe. The front bedroom has a King bed (which can become two singles) and built in wardrobe. And the smaller fourth bedroom has a double bed in it. The family bathroom offers both a shower and a spa bath (small/one person), and there is a separate family WC beside the bathroom.

Please note, depending on the number of people in your booking, some of the bedrooms you don't need might be locked/unavailable.

There is a generous garage with electric door opener (plenty of space for ski gear or summer toys, or drive right in after a day of adventures), and ample off-street parking out front for more cars or even a boat.

You'll have full access to the living areas and garage, and the rooms you have booked. Unused rooms may be shut off. The back garden area is yours to use - see below.

We offer self check in/out, but we are also on hand by phone (or in person if need be) to answer your questions or help in any way we can. We have lots of local knowledge and contacts, and we're here to help. We're also familiar with most of the tourist hotspots, tourist attractions, scenic walks etc - so ask away.

Please note that the all-weather outdoor BBQ area and lawn can be used all day up until 10pm. However, because it's a residential neighbourhood, local council rules state that the outdoor area cannot be used between 10pm and 8am each day, and this must be strictly observed, as the council monitors this.

We want you to enjoy our house, but please note that this is a quiet neighbourhood so parties aren't allowed.

Great family house in fantastic location
The house was very clean and well presented. The owners were really helpful. We were a family of 5 (3 kids/2 adults) and had plenty of room. Very warm and well insulated. Great location with easy walk into town and shops which makes a difference during school holidays. Well equipped with all kitchen requirements, etc. Would definitely recommend to other people considering this place.

About the host

Host profile image
We are bookabach hosts and users who enjoy living in a stunning part of the world, and love travelling to see what else both New Zealand and the world has to offer us!

We've been using booking platforms like this (including AirBNB, etc) around the world since soon after they first began, and it has worked really well for us. We have used them for work (for Mark and colleagues), for personal use, and for holidays with our family. We are frequent bookabach, homeaway and AirBNB hosts.

We live in Wanaka, New Zealand along with our two kids. We are both kiwis (from Dunedin and Wanaka), but have spent 10 years living elsewhere in NZ, and 18 years living in the UK. Our work has taken us all over the world.

Mark says: I love language, literature, technology and good conversation. I'm an avid snow skiier, love being out on the water (lake, not sea), scuba diving, I'm a private pilot (fixed wing, not current) and I'm fluent in German. Most importantly, I have a positive outlook and a good sense of humour.

Rach says: I enjoy exercise and the outdoors, and love living in Wanaka. When possible, I love being out on the lake and in winter I also love to ski. I spend a fair amount of time on my mountain bike, and I enjoy walks beside the river. I really enjoy travel, but nothing beats a golden sandy beach! Most of all, I have a lot of time for good people!

Why they chose this property

This property is super central and very easy both in winter and summer.
