PLEASE NOTE: our four cabins between Grand Lake and Estes Park are a 35 year family business. We are not a hotel, we do our best to make sure that every guest and group are happy. The cabins are in the mountains and therefore small furry and crawly friends may visit from time to time, especially in the late fall. All of our cabins are NO SMOKING inside or on the decks and patios, the Rocky Mountains are under constant fire danger and our cabins are all made of wood. We also want to respect the smells and preferences of other guests. If our onsite managers smell smoke of any type then the entire deposit is forfeit. Our cabins in Estes Park are on well systems. That means the sinks can have streaks when clean and the HOT TUBS can be off color as the minerals react with the cleaning chemicals. The water is safe to drink and very clean! PETS are allowed in BOTH cabins, however, we only cater to dogs and only very well behaved ones. This cabin can have 2 dogs, the other only 1. Please keep dogs crated when not home. We do not have dog runs at this time. Please clean up after dogs. We employ an additional cleaning service for pet dander and rug shampoo so that our allergic guests are also happy. We charge a $40 pet fee for EACH dog that is not usually reflected in the price quote. FIRE: we have gas fire pits at both houses, wood burning is not allowed in Estes Park vacation rentals. PARKING: the driveways visibly have space for 6 vehicles at each house BUT ARE LIMITED TO 3-4 due to city code, please let us know if you are in need of more and we can help you find off-site parking. CAMERAS: we have live closed circuit cameras on the driveways, the main decks, and the water front. These are for safety and security and are only accessed by the owner. There are no recording devices anywhere inside the cabins

CANCELLATION POLICY:
If reservations are cancelled within 6 months of check-in we keep a non-refundable 10% fee
50% if cancelled within 90 days
100% if cancelled within 30 days.
Our cabins book a year out, it's more difficult to make last minute arrangements so VRBO recommends getting their insurance against cancelations for medical and other last minute issues.

Estes Wedding Run-Away

The property location is absolutely Beautiful! The property itself needs some TLC as there were several maintenance issues that need to be addressed! The bones of the property was absolutely Beautiful and once it is renovated and maintenance is done, I would absolutely stay here again.

Great Setting, responsive owner

We arrived at the house surprised to see that one of the showers was taped off and we did not have many towels out. With 4 daughters....we might be in for a challenging week. I called the owner, he was equally surprised as well and within an hour someone was out to finish the work and grab a few towels. We enjoyed the location (great view and we spent a lot of time on the deck). While the house shows it's age. They are making improvements to the place (including with a recent AC installation, and remodeled downstairs bathroom), but it worked fine for our large family. We were close to downtown Estes Park but felt outside the crowded areas. We also enjoyed the trail and proximity to the marina and horse stables. Not everything is ever perfect, but I appreciate the responsiveness of the owner. Just a couple of things to keep in mind, the driveway is steep and relatively narrow, with 3 cars, we found it easier to park up top (or across the street in the dirt turnout). All in all a great trip and would recommend.

Pleasant stay & convenient location

Great views! Great space for a family. No foosball table anymore which was a small bummer as the kids wanted to play against each other but thats probably for a reason. That's really not a big deal as it was such a wonderful & cozy home to sit by the fireplace and enjoy family time. I'm happy we chose this location. Host was wonderful and checked in as well.💜 Highly recommend this home.

Rented two adjoining houses

The hot tubs are not clean. Brown dirt ring leading to green colored water, Messaged owner who said they were cleaned. No, not clean enough to use unless you accept dirty water with brown ring on top sides of walls - that's not acceptable, No help resolving issue while we stayed Thursday to Monday. Oh afterwards he issued a small 2 digit credit/ lol. Broken screens. Dead mouse found under dresser. I wish I could load pictures and checked his reviews better, The place could be nice if he had cooperated with these issues while there. We rented it for a family wedding in that area. I won't stay there again, I guess he gets away with this . Just read deeper into reviews. I had to contact him to get the door code less than one hour before arrival,

Amazing view

The photos available from the wrap around deck were stunning. The house was perfect for our family vacation. Everyone went off and did their own thing during the day then came back for evening dinner and discussion of our day and time in the hot tub or fishing. Plentiful time for relaxing too.

Great Location

We had a family wedding in the Rocky Mountains and 12 of us stayed at this property right in Estes Lake. What a fantastic view and the location was convenient to all. We relaxed on the wrap around deck, took advantage of the walking path along the lake, headed into town with a short drive to the town center and headed into Rocky Mountain National Park. The kids also enjoyed the movie screen and selection of DVDs. Mike (the owner) was accommodating and responsive for any questions we had. Highly recommend this location for a stay in the mountains.

Perfect for Larger Group with Amazing Views

Great Location of Cabin located right on Estes Lake which is a few minute drive from Stanley Hotel and the “town” with all the restaurants, bars, and shops. 15 minute drive to entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. The cabin Overlooks the mountains and the lake. Plenty of parking space. 5 bedrooms that comfortably fit 12 people. Awesome projector room for sports and/or movie night. Kitchen very clean and spacious. The house had everything we needed to enjoy a getaway in the wintry season. Hot tub was very nice, clean, and is outside overlooking lake as well.

Great winter spot, small issues

We had a lovely time in this house. The house was cozy with a lovely view. Perfect to hunker down between Christmas and New Years. The listing says 12 people, but this was tight even with three kids under 10. The kitchen was well stocked, but again but just barely for 12 people so we had to do a lot of dishes. Had a little trouble regulating temperature between upstairs and downstairs and while the hot tub was lovely to have, it needed maintenance. We called about this as likely the holidays meant they were off schedule but this was never resolved while we were there. Overall a lovely stay but with a few minor issues.

Beautiful views

We actually stayed at the adjoining property after a mix up on our arrival date, but both properties are close to town and have beautiful views of Lake Estes and RMNP. The cabin was comfortable and had plentiful room for our group of 7. All of the beds were very comfortable, and the living rooms, had a lots of games and books for entertainment. The kitchen and dining area afforded a lot of space for us to cook together and hang out around the table.

Rocking chair on the deck watching bald eagles swooping over lake

We had some magical moments sitting on the deck and watching Mother Nature on parade. Elk and deer walking by so close we could almost touch them. Birds riding the high air currents watching for prey, then lightning-fast swooping down to catch fish in the lake. Eagles, herons, hawks, seagulls; we never tired of watching this drama play out. The house itself has some truly lovely aspects to it. Gorgeous high ceilings with giant beams, rock fireplaces, all the things you might expect of a mountain lakeside home. Plenty of cooking, dining, and kitchenware; fluffy white towels, tons of sofas and chairs to curl up in, lap blankets, etc. The owner was easy to contact, friendly, and responsive to a last minute request. Areas of improvement for the owner would be 1) better quality bed and higher quality sheets in the downstairs master. My experience was that the mattress wasn't very comfortable and the fitted sheet kept on coming off, and 2) add screens to the downstairs windows, especially in the bedroom. I opted not to open the windows without screens because of the mosquitos that were sometimes nearby and this made the room feel a bit stuffy. And when one is in mountains next to a lake, it's a real treat to open the window and enjoy the breeze and the sounds of nature. Beyond that, our stay was delightful, and we'd be happy to stay there again.

Worth it

We had a really fabulous stay here. The house is beautiful, location is perfect, and view is absolutely awe inspiring. That being said, as mentioned in previous reviews, there are problems with the upkeep of the house. Communication was subpar as we had to call the host for check-in instructions the night before check-in due to not having received any information at all. Overall, the positives outweigh the negatives and I will always looks back and remember an amazing stay.

Wonderful Colorado 60th birthday vacay!

We had a great stay at Mike's beautiful lakeview cabin in Estes Park! It was right on the water- allowing for gorgeous views while eating out on the deck picnic tables, or under the stars in the hot tub at night. We often saw bald eagles diving for fish in the marina. The house was roomy, and very comfortable. There are enough bathrooms for everyone to share. The kitchen is big- with lots of counter space and well stocked for cooking. The washer and dryer were handy, as we had all kinds of weather. The fireplaces were nice when it was chilly. The projection room made for good movie nights. The location can't be beat- as there is privacy, as well as close convenience to town. Yes- a few minor repairs are needed, but nothing that interferes with the wonderful experience of staying here! We hope to return soon, and often.

Our immediate family has been in Estes, Grand Lake, and Rocky Mountain National Park since my parents got married in Estes in 1982. Before that my Grandfather frequented the Estes YMCA starting in the 50s. We have had a family cabin at Lemmon Lodge in Grand Lake since 1986 and love the area more than anywhere else on Earth. Rocky Mountain National Park will always be the center of our Colorado home.

Why they chose this property

This cabin is made for family reunions and family gatherings. We love to help make memories and appreciate guests who come back year after year. Our goal is that every stay in the Rockies is unique and wonderful, and that we can share our love of the mountains with other families and new friends.

What makes this property unique

We are the ONLY two year round cabins in Estes Park for rent that sit directly on the lake. The views are beautiful, as are the different seasons and the amazing wildlife that makes the area its home. We have unobstructed views of the snowcapped Rockies and continental divide, as well as the surrounding nature with regular visits from bald eagles and elk.
