Upon entering the vacation rental, we were immediately overwhelmed by the strong smell of dog urine and cigarette smoke. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the property was also disappointing. There were numerous spiders and bugs throughout the home, which made the stay uncomfortable and unpleasant.The property did not have central heating and air conditioning and instead relied on window units for cooling. The bottom level in particular had such a strong odor that we had to light candles simply to make the space tolerable enough to stay in.Overall, the condition and cleanliness of the rental did not meet reasonable expectations for a vacation property. The combination of the overwhelming odors, insects, lack of cleanliness, and inadequate climate control significantly affected our stay.

We are disappointed to hear of your concerns, particularly because no issues were reported to us during your stay, which prevented us from having the opportunity to address them. We would like to clarify that there has never been a dog in this Airbnb, and smoking is strictly prohibited. Following unusually heavy rainfall and elevated humidity levels, the lower level can occasionally have a temporary musty smell, which may have been mistaken for other odors. Additionally, the property does have air conditioning, including a central system serving the downstairs. While the North Carolina mountains climate, can sometimes result in insects finding its way indoors and around the outdoor areas, we maintain the property regularly and try to avoid pest-control services and spraying. Had these concerns been brought to our attention when you checked in, we would have gladly taken immediate steps to inspect the property and address anything affecting your comfort. We value all guest feedback and remain committed to providing a clean and enjoyable experience for future guests.

Candler house

Awesome stay. Peaceful and relaxing. Great location. House is close to everything. Asheville, Biltmore, hiking, waterfalls, Blue Ridge Parkway. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved this home. Great semi-private location, with quiet and lovely views. The home was stocked well with towels and other necessities. I think the kitchen could use more cutlery since we ran out of spoons (there were 2 and we needed 4). Overall, the home was clean and a great stay!The host was very responsive and courteous! I would highly recommend this cute home for your next stay!

NC mountain get away

Nice surroundings in the woods. Really needed to have some deep cleaning done. And repairs done. Also could use a water filtering system to eliminate sediment. Property owner who we met was very nice.

Relaxing Weekend Getaway

I had a wonderful stay for a long weekend away with my sister. This was the perfect place for us. Loved the location! Close enough to Asheville to drive for food or shopping. Also good for a day trip to Cherokee. Really enjoyed sitting on the porch and deck and listening to the sound of the stream down the hill. Was very private but not totally secluded. Would definitely visit again.

Nice place

The pics arent accurate as to whats inside the house (kitchen table, furniture) but its still a nice place to stay. Wild turkeys were out daily. Kids loved the game room and the creek. Property manager was easy to contact and friendly.

Softball in Candler

Overall the place was great. Previous house guests did not abide by laws, so the smell was left for us. One issue with downstairs air but was fixed by the time we were back to the house.

Great little house in a great location

This little house was perfect for my family (2 adults, 2 children). The property is in a nice and quiet locatIon. We met some of the neighbors who were just wonderful! My children, especially my son, enjoyed the setting and the creek in the front yard. We had some turkeys visit one afternoon and enjoyed watch them peck around the yard. This is a location we would love to return to someday.

Peace and quiet

Loved the way we felt surrounded by the mountains. It was so serene and peaceful. Close enough to the city to enjoy it, far enough away to escape. In town for a softball tournament, we opted for a house instead of a hotel. It was a winner. Would stay here again and recommend to all. Very spacious inside and out and the game room was a hit!
