About this property

Secluded Spacious Cottage with Mountain views 1 mile to Downtown

Enjoy central city amenities while feeling tucked away on a mountain top. Experience all of Asheville's arts and food, downtown and plenty more to be found within a 1 mile radius of this updated historic cottage.

Cozy and unique, the time you spend here will be part of your vacation instead of just a place to sleep! Be a part of the historic feel of the city in your very own 1800's cottage.

The wrap around porches are great for enjoying the mountain views and a cup of tea. The yard is expansive and includes a fire pit and propane grill. The hot tub is tucked away on the back deck where you can relax in privacy while still taking in the long range mountain views.

There are two main bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. Each of the two bedrooms has its own door to the covered balcony overlooking the blue ridge mountains and surrounded by large trees.

The third bedroom is between the other two so you do need to walk through one of the other rooms.

Two bathrooms, the one downstairs has a shower and the one on 2nd floor has a bathtub and shower.

There is plenty of space to spread out inside or outside the house.

Charm and Comfort
The house was so charming and beautiful and comfortable. You'd never know you were anywhere near a city, it was so quiet and relaxed (we saw a black bear on our way back after dinner one night), but it's only a mile away from the heart of downtown. The wraparound porch upstairs and the front porch were wonderful. Fireplace made the downstairs so comfortable and welcoming. I loved everything about this place.

Can’t beat the location
Perfect place to view the beauty of the mountains surrounding Asheville, while still having access to all the downtown attractions. The home is old and quaint, with modern updates to kitchen and bathrooms. Nothing beats a morning coffee on the top deck overlooking the mountains. Will definitely book again if I find myself back in Asheville.

visiting son
WE spent christmas with our son . He lives about 3 miles from where we stayed. It was our first experience in an air b and b but it surely won't be our last. We had a wonderful time and were very comfortable in our little house.

About the host

Your host

Host profile image
I fill my time at home with pottery, painting and music and outside of that I can be found on the map somewhere between Texas and North Carolina.
I have been hosting since 2010 and have made longtime friends and always enjoy sharing what’s special about the town and neighborhood with others.
I keep my home open to guests because getting to experience the charm of a neighborhood and being a part of it as a local is the way I enjoy staying when I travel. I’m hoping to share my pottery on the experience side of the app soon. A lot of the pieces you see in my home were made by me and more and more it’s what I’m focused on when I’m not tending to the house.

Why they chose this property

They call this neighborhood "Historic Hideaway in the Hub of Asheville"
It's nestled between Biltmore Village on the south side and downtown Asheville just a mile west.
