**Family Friendly stays only, please no Bachelor/Bachelorette or College Parties. Our goal is simple. We want you and your family to make this newly remodeled lakefront home your regular weekly rental home for your Northern Michigan vacations. My family purchased this home in October 2015 and started an extensive remodeling phase that was completed in February 2016. You will have plenty of fun at this beautiful 4 bedroom, 3 full bath home located on South Lake Leelanau.
This property offers a huge backyard, 3 foot lakeside fire pit, sand bottom lakefront, a basketball hoop, and ample parking. The interior of the home features a remodeled open floor design with a huge chef's table that offers gorgeous views of the lake. I just replaced all of the windows throughout out the house and added a new central air condition for comfort. Also included in this remodeling are new hardwood flooring throughout the main level of the home and a new full bath in the lower level. There is a great dining area on the outside upper deck of the home that should be used to take advantage of having laughs during a meal while watching the sunset over the lake. The kitchen flows into the large living room area that is equipped with a big flat screen HDTV with full cable TV access.
The Master Bedroom overlooks the lake and has its own full bathroom. The other two bedrooms on the main floor offers a queen bed in each bedroom with a full bathroom across the hall. The lower bedroom offers three sets of bunk beds and a new full bathroom. Sheets and towels are included in the rental.
Lake Leelanau is recognized nationally for being an excellent fishing lake. Fishing off the dock has been known to net its share of Walleye, Perch, and Bass Fish. It is also an all sports lake, that you can rent a Pontoon or Water Ski Boat and have it delivered to your dock for your convenience. Lake Leelanau travels for miles from Leland to Traverse City and offers restaurants and bars that you can dock your boat and dine.
The town of Lake Leelanau, which is only 2 miles down the road, has a grocery store, coffee and breakfast shops, a vast number of wineries, and a distillery that is known for their Gin, Vodka, and Whiskey. The town of Leland is about 7 minutes away. Leland is where the Historic Fishtown is located with its many restaurants and shops, and Fishing Charters that will take you and your group out on Lake Michigan for Lake Trout or Salmon fishing trips. The city of Suttons Bay is also a short 9 minute drive that offers its own flare of restaurants and shops, along with a movie theater. If a trip to the Sleeping Bear Dunes is something you would like to do, it is located less than 30 minutes away. So many things to see and do in the heart of Leelanau County, and THIS house sits perfectly centered on South Lake Leelanau ready for you to enjoy and relax.

Thank you for your stay. You and your family were a joy to host for the week. Happy to have you back!
Great house with a lot of room for 7 adults! Very clean and a great lakefront location within easy distance of all our favorite Leelanau Peninsula and Traverse City amusements and haunts. Bill was an excellent host who gave us all the info about the property that we needed and clearly provided expectations for guests.
Bill was great to deal with, the house was perfect for our mixed group of family. We had 4 families stay the weekend for a short family reunion. The location was great, the house was perfect for us and well equipped with all that we needed.

Thank you! It was a pleasure hosting your family. Thank you for trusting my house for your family reunion.
We had a great time with our adult kids and 2 grandsons. We were able to dock our boat right there which made it easy to take grandsons tubing and fast boat rides
The swim area was nice and sandy and just right for non swimmers The house was perfect for large group dinners and games at night plenty of seating in and out. We will remember this for years to come and hope to do again
Friendly host, really well remodeled house right on Lake Leelenau. 3 bedrooms and 2 bath on the main floor and another full bath downstairs off the bunkhouse that walks out into the backyard. Second tier deck overlooking the water outside the kitchen is great. Well appointed kitchen with big island and seating all around it. We stayed here for the Bayshore Memorial Weekend and it was great. Coffee and cocktails on the new second story deck were the best!
The house was just as advertised. Very clean, very roomy. Beautiful updated bathrooms. Beds for all 10 of us, with room to spare. Beautiful, convenient location on Lake Leelanau. Would consider staying here again.
The host was very helpful in ironing out an issue with VRBO not acknowledging receipt of my payment to him.
Not as clean as we were expecting, we cleaned the kitchen floor and vacuumed the basement carpet
Cleaning people need to be more affective, they didn’t leave enough towels, bed comforter was dirty and they forgot to leave a bottle of wine per the host’s directions
Bill called them and resolved our issues
Host did mention that there we’re going to be fruit flies, my wife had to make a trap to try and control them, seems like it helped

Thanks Doug for your review as it was a pleasure to work with you. The cleaners did unfortunately dropped the ball on your week. I have addressed this with the cleaning company and put in new protocols to ensure the services that I pay for is rendered accordingly. I was happy to quickly resolve these issues and I’m glad you had an enjoyable week at the Lakehouse.
We have been coming to the Traverse City area for several years now with our extended family. This home is absolutely beautiful and has the perfect layout for a large family gathering. Plenty of space for board games and large family meals. It was extremely clean. The lake is great for swimming and boating. The shallow area is sandy, not rocky like many other properties in the area. There is a kayak rental right up the street. We kayaked back to the house! The dunes and Traverse City are not too far away which our older teens took full advantage of. Plenty of parking which has been an issue at other properties. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The owner is very gracious and easy to contact.
Very much enjoyed our stay. Lake was perfect, home was just as advertised! Easy boat trip to a beautiful sand bar on Lake Leelenau, fishing off the dock and fires at night. Great stay!! Would definitely return.
Our family enjoyed our stay. The house was very nice, well appointed and everything we expected. Bill was very helpful and responsive. No issues and we will stay here the next time we are in the area.
We enjoyed everything about our stay at this lakefront home! It is clean, spacious, & well equipped; the view is gorgeous; & the yard, dock, & waterfront are perfect for family outdoor activities!
Bill’s property is one of a kind. Beautiful house with upgrades, super clean and a great set up. We had two families including 4 teenagers and the house had everything we needed. We ate every meal in the house and the fully stocked kitchen was perfect. The view of the water is so peaceful. We rented a boat for the week and were able to tie it up to the dock. Bill is easy to communicate with and available for any questions. A great week of making memories!
We really enjoyed our stay at your lake place. It was a great property and fit our family perfect.

Wonderful vacation week!
My extended family of eleven spent our twelfth year vacation at this beautiful home. It is without a doubt, the nicest home we ever rented in northern MI. We loved how the five children ages 6 thru 15 had their own dorm and private bathroom downstairs. This also gave the adults some alone time away from the kids. The house is laid out very nice with a large open kitchen and family room. The master suite was perfect for my husband and I. The yard is big and the grass is soft and green. The water was warm with a great sandy bottom. Everyone had a wonderful time and we thank the owners for sharing their beautiful home.

Great Vaca!
This is the first time we stayed at this home. Had a great time. Wide open living space for the two families we had. Many updates and decorated beautifully. The home was clean and very well maintained. Big open yard for lounging in the sun or yard games. It was easy to secure our boat at the dock.
We had a small issue with the indoor internet, but the owner was very attentive and talked us through correcting the problem. It was easy to connect to the internet whether we were inside or outside in the yard.
Its an easy drive to nearby towns-Leland, Northport, Glen Arbor.
Would definitely stay there again!

Great location, clean home, friendly/helpful owner
Home was clean and ready right when we arrived. Plenty of space for our 2 families. Kitchen, eating area, family and family room all open together, great for gathering/meals. Nice big lawn for relaxing, water is shallow enough to walk right in from the grass and has sandy bottom. Quick drive to Lake Leelenau (the town), Leland, or Suttons Bay.
Bill was very helpful before our rental week, making sure we knew what was included. Also texted to check in on the second day, make sure we had everything we needed. Plenty of parking, nice fire pit, dock was great for our boat all week. Quick boat ride north to tie up in Lake Leelenau for lunch or dinner.
All in all, a great place to spend a week up north!

Great Experience
We arrived a little early and the home was already to go. The home was very clean and ready for us, which was super. The home was well equipped in the kitchen and the kitchen was very large, lots of natural light, much better then other places we have stayed in the past. Nice deck over looking the lake, lower level deck had a dual grill with gas or charcoal options, lots of seating for a large group, nice dock for boats and toys and close to many eateries. This was a great home for families.

Beautiful Home - Great Location
Thanks for sharing your home with us. We had two families of 5 each stay comfortably. The teens loved the private kids space downstairs. Th new kitchen was perfect, we could all fit around the island. The location on South Lake Leelanu was excellent. We could easily boat to the town of Leland, through the narrows and into Lake Leelanu (North lake). Having a dock to tie up our rented pontoon boat was great as well. We were slightly worried about the slope of the yard as one in our group has trouble walking. and with stairs. She was able to maneuver around the wide open living area with her walker on the new floors and with help get down to the dock. We could drop her off near the front door for easy access to the house or drive her to the parking area for boating. Finally, Bill was great to work with, even checking in that all was well. We will be back to this great home.

About the host
Hosted by Bill Fundaro
My wife and I are life-long Michigan residents. We hail from the Detroit Metro area and have longed for an "Up-North" property that our young family could enjoy for years to come. We, like many "City Folks", have taken summer vacations all throughout Northern Michigan escaping the hustle and bustle of the city life for a week at a time. Once we visited Leelanau County, and more specific, Lake Leelanau, we knew that this was different from the rest. My wife and I are extremely happy that we bought this home in October 2015. We have stayed in this home for our weekly rentals for the past four years and loved everything about the house and the location it is from the nearby towns and amenities.
Something that never gets old to me is when leaving the city to head to this home and finally pulling up in this lakefront home's driveway is the very first smell of clean, fresh air when you open your car door. That is when you know that you are in for a very special week away. I hope that you will feel this same sensation when you book this property for your weekly vacation. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about this home for your vacation.
Why they chose this property
After staying in this area for the past two summers, I had the unique opportunity to purchase this house in October 2015. I am invested a considerable amount of money back into the home to remodel this property. I opened up the floor plan to enhance the family gathering spots of this home and have added central air for comfort. In addition, to replacing all of the windows and adding hardwood floors to the main level of the house, I have also added a new full bathroom in the downstairs to make this house a 3 full bathroom home for your convenience. With a new fire pit in the massive back yard, you, your family, and guest will feel like you are staying at a 5 star resort. My goal is that you make this home your regualr rental spot year after year.
What makes this property unique
This newly remodeled home is complete with a new open floor plan, hardwood floors, added new full bathroom on lower (lakefront) level, and new windows. Perfectly located on South Lake Leelanau your family will enjoy all of the fun water activities in the sand bottom, clear waterfront, directly located in the backyard of the property. You are minutes away from Historic Fishtown in Leland, and the shopping and restaurants of Suttons Bay.
