This cabin features Craftsmen architecture, touches from the 30’s and 40’s, a vintage Rachel Ray stove and Pine Craft furniture. “Fern Valley Cottage” is just steps away from Strawberry Creek, a quick walk to town, or a 5 minute drive to Humber Park's hiking trails. This yard is perfectly manicured. Come recharge and breathe in the mountain air at “Fern Valley Cottage” while taking in incredible views and so much natural beauty!

Pets: We (Do ) allow Dogs (2 maximum) (Cats may or may not be allowed depending on the property). There is a $130 pet fee (2 dog max) depending on breed and home; $170 pet fee for bookings between November 1st- January 15th. Stays beyond 3 days, or exceed the 2-dog max, may be subject to additional Pet Fees. IF CATS ALLOWED, it is a flat rate for the duration of stay of $250.00 or $500.00, it is all depending on the property. SPECIAL REQUEST PETS OUTSIDE OF DOGS MUST BE APPROVED BY PROPERTY MANAGEMENT PRIOR TO DAY OF ARRIVAL.

Guests under the age of 25 years of age will provide an additional security deposit of $500 on the day of arrival.

Not dog friendly

We stayed at this property 2/24-2/27. The listing stated that this property was completely fenced for dogs. In fact, it is not. The front gate has an area adjacent to it that is completely open and goes out into the street. I had to harness my two dogs whenever they needed to go out. They could not just roam on their own. It was completely inconvenient for me to keep doing this throughout the trip. We ordered a bushel of firewood for $25 to be delivered. This wood did not burn. It is not seasoned. We tried kindling and fire starters. All it created was a bunch of smoke. We made the owner aware of these things and requested a $25 refund for unused wood that we had to leave at property. We never heard back. Unacceptable. We visit Idyllwild every year and will not be using Vrbo or staying g at this cabin.

End of year get away

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had 3 lovely days in Idyllwild to hike, explore, shop and snuggle. No snow, but chilly and the comfortable beds and awesome heater made nights cozy and comfortable. The location of the property makes for an easy, short drive, or walk to town. Yet distanced enough to be private and off the beaten path, and quiet. The design of the home provides lots of privacy too, with bedrooms on either end. We loved the extra dining space and used the big table to start a puzzle. The cabin felt like a home with all the amenities, thoughtful touches, and mountain decor. We will return and I would highly recommend the property and management staff to friends. New Spirit staff were helpful and kind. We enjoyed great pizza at Idyllwild pizza, enjoyed the brewery food and drink, Red Kettle did not disappoint, and have a small addition to the chocolate at El Buen Cacao.

A true gem!

Our first time to Idyllwild and it was eventful! We loved being able to have our dogs with us the owners of the property were very accommodating (Thank you!) We learned that Riverside County has specific noise monitoring device requirements, which the rental management also explained to us ASAP and put us at ease. These devices actually help keep Idyllwild quiet and peaceful, which is why we wanted to get away to begin with. We also accidentally locked ourselves out of the property and the management company came to the rescue within mere minutes! It was impressive. Granted I had to hike around to get cell service, this place really is a "get away" haha. The cabin was adorable, so well decorated with bears, woodland animals and the garden was beautiful. I took note of many of the plants to try to grow at home. My daughter loved the old bathtub and stopper. Beds were cozy, and loved all the low cabin-y lighting. We met the Mayor, walked the shops, stopped by the museum, and hiked. My daughter left her slippers and they called to see if we needed them back or if we wanted to donate them (donation it is!) We really needed this little vacay. We will be back!!! Thank you for everything!!!
