Whitetail Spur - Panoramic Valley View!

Take in stunning views of Elk Creek Valley and Jefferson National Forest from every room of this comfortable and updated home sitting at 3500ft elevation. Privately situated with all-weather access via a paved road off US-21. When you’re not exploring the country outside the gates, you can roam 48 acres of authentic Appalachian terrain right on the property. You’ll find unimproved wildlife trails through the forested hills, large rock formations, a seasonal spring, and a cascading stream.

Three bedrooms sleep seven comfortably (4 adults, 3 kids). The spacious new kitchen has everything you need to settle in for a while with all the necessities. Sip your coffee over breakfast, and take in a gorgeous panoramic sunrise over distant hills before heading out for the day. Marvel at the warm glow lighting the valley right from a large sectional sofa as the sun sets. Enjoy a night cap outside and see millions of stars and the sweep of the Milky Way as you haven’t seen it before in Virginia from the deck after the sun sets.

New in 2020: We have added a stone fire pit just off the back patio. Now guests can relax in the evenings around a fire regardless of the season, while still enjoying all of our magnificent views!

Good Day Sunrise

A great place to relax with friends, cook, play games, listen to music, and look out for miles to the East, where the sunrises were gorgeous on clear mornings. The home was incredibly well-equipped and spacious for at least 4 adults with children. It's nice to have three separate floors and a big back deck, with an open kitchen. We were also very happy with the surrounding area. Conveniences (food store, restaurants, gas stations, etc.) were plentiful. The local people we ran into were happy we were visiting and proud of their quaint town and area. We walked the New River Trail a couple of times and it's nice and level with great scenery. We plan to return, maybe as an annual tradition. Also very good value, as we've stayed in vastly more expensive places without much upside.

Awesome in every way possible

Remote quiet natural setting. House is very comfortable. Views are extraordinary. The perfect place for me to unwind from the otherwise craziness of my life.

Serene stay

The view the home has is enough of a reason to stay at the location. The home offers a large back deck which allows you to see beautiful views for miles while drinking morning coffee or eating dinner. The home was well equipped with everything we could have needed and had something for everyone. We had early communication with property manager who was easy to communicate with and helped with our stay. Will definitely stay here again.

A bright and beautiful vacation

We had a wonderful vacation experience at Whitetail Spur. The house is bright, beautiful, and very comfortable. The kitchen and laundry were well equipped. Everything was clean and well maintained. The location is secluded and quiet with an amazing view of the mountains and valley. We enjoyed the hiking and the biking on the New River Trail. Shopping is less than a 30-minute drive to Galax and 10 minutes to Independence. The host's Clay and Kristen were excellent to work with, attentive and responsive. This was our second stay at Whitetail Spur, and we plan to return. Ron and Andrea
