We went for a girls' weekend and really enjoyed the house and all it offered. Even though the weather was terrible, the walk to restaurants was no problem.
I'm a bit of a cottage addict. What I loved most about this one was the enfolding greenery and the wisteria vine that wrapped around the verandah. The internet was poor when we stayed but I believe there had been a storm recently which affected coverage in the area.

Thanks for staying with us and for your review and French Cottage has a beautiful old Verandah wrapped in wisteria to just sit under and relax and look out into the garden.
Yes we had a Beechworth wide internet outage following a heavy storm and Telstra came and repaired our street the day after your stay so the NBN internet is back up and running again for your next stay with us 😍
The house was clean and neat. The house is not set up to lounge in or spend time in but more a come and go to sleep. This was okay for us as we were out and about all weekend. We travelled as 4 adults - the 2 males loved the rock hard beds and pillows but the 2 women struggled with them. Maybe bring your own soft pillow if you don't like a really hard one!

Thanks Elizabeth for your feedback. There are a selection of pillows either firm or soft in the wardrobes and also some expensive gel pillows in one wardrobe. Everyone enjoys there own pillow for sure but next time feel free to ask if you don’t look in the wardrobe as it’s hard to know which guests prefer which type of pillows as you can imagine and as you explained in your review. Surprising you didn’t think you could lounge around French Cottage which is at odds with our guest reviews prior to yours. We have a beautiful large four seater Italian leather lounge suite which you can stretch out on or sit in one two adjacent cosy chairs with lots of books to read in the lounge and a large 10 seater dining table in the kitchen area which opens out to an extensive deck and outdoor seating area with views out to the garden. Perhaps you can enjoy that next time if you come back and stay with us in Beechworth.
Beautiful, cosy place to spend some time in Beechworth.
Very easy process, simple. I made some changes to my original booking and there were no problems. All was changed quickly. Joanne was very obliging and made the whole experience a pleasure. Thanks for a lovely stay.
We hadn't been to Beechworth before so spent a lot of time trying finding the right accommodation and location for our family .The French Cottage was absolutely amazing and lived up to our expectations .
We really loved the beautiful spaces at the French cottage. Gorgeous rooms , lovely garden, spacious open kitchen and dining area and a cosy lounge .
The cottage is also very clean and in a great location near the lake and a easy 5 minute walk to town . We highly recommend The French Cottage for a romantic or family getaway.
Well done French Cottage

We will be returning.

Immaculate slice of country heaven. Perfect for us! Beautiful bathrooms, exceptionally well stocked kitchen, beds better than many hotels. Perfect distance for a walk to key attractions. Definitely would consider again if back for another stay is this lovely town. Very restful stay.
This was just a perfect little getaway location. Walking distance to everything, beautiful location. Property manager was lovely to deal with and just made the visit easy.
A beautifully appointed property in the historic town of Beechworth. House has everything you could need for a stay and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay close to Beechworth Town as everything is within walking distance.
Property was great for a weekend get together, Jo was quick in her responses if we needed anything.
Large and spacious for socialising, only downside is the lack of comfortable seating. We spent most of our time sitting around the dining table due to 6 of us, the dining area could be utilised more for socialising space as the living room is the smaller out the two.
Amazingly comfortable beds. Would love to know which pillows you had :)

Thanks Holly for your great review and feedback on the seating. We’ve gone and bought three additional seats to accomodate large groups over 6 people and look forward to having you and your friends back again at either French or Marlo Cottage in 2020. Cheers
What a great property, bright and open with a superb garden. Huge kitchen and living space. Heating worked a treat in the middle of winter and we were never cold whilst indoors.
I highly recommend this home for anyone wanting to stay in Beechworth but don’t want to be right in the middle of town.
Looking forward to coming back
Absolutely lovely place to stay...I could live in it as my home. We had a girlie weekend, celebrating Mum's birthday and it was great. Perfect location, beds sooo comfortable...can t wait to stay again...Thanks for our stay
