About this property
Ned Kelly's Marlo Cottage - best location in town
Located right in the heart of Beechworth this upmarket fully self-contained character home offers romantic accommodation for a couple, a family, or a group of up to 6 people, next door to the best shops, wine bars and cafes in central Beechworth with street parking out front and plenty of unlimited free parking about 20 metres away around corner. There are also bike racks and a secure off street bike storage area - perfect for cyclists travelling on the local rail trail.
If you just want to be able to walk everywhere then this is the place for you (you will need to drive back to most other holiday homes in Beechworth - which isn't much fun if you all want is to enjoy the nearby Billsons and Bridgeroad Breweries or wine bars!)
This luxuriously renovated 1874 home spans two levels with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with the upstairs room being where Beechworth's historical photographer J E Bray took the now famous private portraits of the Ned Kelly Gang. He was also employed by the local police to capture the Ned Kelly siege at Glenrowan on June 28th 1880.
You have access to the entire self contained house which has three queen size bedrooms and two bathrooms, but please make sure you book for the correct number of guests as additional bedrooms may be locked if we don’t think you need them for your stay.
Also check out Ned Kelly’s Marlo Cottage’s sister - French Cottage 1854, which is a gorgeous fully renovated three bedroom home with a stunning French inspired alfresco garden all located approx 800 metres from Marlo Cottage.
Book them both for large groups and entertain in the stunning large private alfresco garden at French Cottage. Take a look at French Cottage 1854 on Airbnb Beechworth. For weddings usually the groom and groomsmen stay at Marlo Cottage and the bride at French Cottage.

"Marlo Cottage - a beautifully restored and furnished cottage that has it all ... style, location, heritage and history"
"If you like historical towns and accommodation with atmosphere then this is the place. And comfort is not sacrificed. Marlo has been well renovated and we were delighted to find real antique furniture. Rooms were surprisingly large and spacious with high ceilings.
We've been there three times and been glad of the good space for relaxing, cooking and socialising. On our latest trip in November we spent some evenings in the small courtyard since the weather was warm".
" Marlo cottage is exquisite, you can lay in bed at night or in the beautiful bath and watch the stars . Every thing is available to cook and then dine at the cottage if you wish, or if you like, walk out the front door and the gorgeous town of Beechworth is there for you to enjoy ,you can also sit on the front Veranda and simply watch the passing parade or have the privacy of the back court yard complete with a rustic water fountain, there is limited street front parking provided for unpacking all your baggage or packing all your goodies that you have purchased from the famous lollie shop and or the honey from the bee store across the road. There is lots of free unlimited parking nearby. The cottage is beautifully restored and our stay there was perfect" .
"The house is in the centre of town with limited street front parking at during business hours out front and unlimited free parking just 20 metres streets away around the street corner . Beechworth has plenty of coffee shops, antique shops and places to rummage around. There's lots to do in surrounding area too. If we visit Beechworth again, we'd stay at Marlo".
Maximum three bedrooms or six guests.
