Breathtaking view of Thunder Butte mountain. The reservoir brings many birds and wildlife to the area. A slice of peace, with a wonderful mountain drive to Woodland Park
Wow! What a magical location that was! Reminiscing now as I write this. So many beautiful water foul to see. Lovely spot that had everything we needed and could've asked for. Thank you for such a lovely stay!
We picked this location because of the peaceful atmosphere. We were able to relax and recharge in this comfortable home. We were able to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the wildlife. Highly recommend!
Overall, the house was good and served our purpose. It had snowed several days before we arrived, and it was a challenge to get to it and shovel the driveway and the entry.

Thanks for staying at The Lake House! We're glad that you enjoyed your stay. We hope that all of our guests will enjoy the peaceful and beautiful setting during the winter months. The road is typically plowed within a few hundred feet of the driveway. We do shovel the front entry and stairs to the home prior to guest arrival. AWD or 4WD is needed for winter travel. Guests are encouraged to call ahead for weather conditions. It's always our pleasure to serve you!
Very nice place to get away. We enjoyed the lake and mountains and nice large deck to sit and take in nature. The inside is nice with just the right amount of space. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. We enjoyed hiking around the lake and the drive to the Springs and Woodland park is a nice pretty drive.

Thanks for staying at the Lake House! We're glad that you enjoyed your visit.
We appreciate your feedback as well. We're committed to continuous improvement at all of our homes. We want everyone to have a wonderful experience while staying.
Since we own property at the lake also, we could use the lake. It is beautiful with or without use!
Things need help - the deck, the sky lights, a rotted piece of wood on an eve. What is the canoe about?

We are glad that you enjoyed the home! The lake makes for a beautiful place to stay. We would love it if our guests had access but there are others nearby. I especially enjoy walking around the lake in the morning and watching the fish jumping from the front porch. We manage the home and the owners who have just recently acquired the home are making continuous improvements. We are excited about the opportunity to share this home with other respectable guests!
This place was in a beautiful setting, on the lake, just beautiful. However , the inside was a little run down. We did have an issue with a "smell" in one of the bedrooms that could not be ignored and we ended up having to leave, because it became unbearable. The hosts were very responsive to our message and were very quick to find us a new place. We were grateful for that! The new place was great, a little under stocked in the kitchen, and some holey shower towels, but overall it worked.

Thanks for staying at The Lake House! It's a wonderful home in a beautiful setting that we want all of our guests to enjoy and apologize for your experience. We did isolate an issue under the home and resolved it for our future guests. We're glad that we were able to relocate you quickly during Thanksgiving travel. While the new home did not have a kitchen that was stocked like The Lake House, I hope that our future guest will find that the kitchen is nicely stocked at The Lake House. This lake front cabin maintains its rustic original character and is true to the photos.
When I look for a VRBO, I avoid “touristy” areas. I like to experience the state and culture in its purist form. If you want a feel for “real Colorado”, this place is for you. Nestled in the grove of the beautiful Colorado mountains at the foot of a lake, is this diamond in the rough. Enjoy your coffee on the deck every morning reveling in the breathtaking views. We visited in the winter, fully aware we were taking a slight risk with the weather. Turns out, our Midwest weather sent us home a couple days early. Lol. Upon our arrival, my four daughters absolutely loved the lit up Christmas tree that was waiting for us. This would not be the last time we noticed how this property pays attention to small details. This property is FULLY stocked. Better than any VRBO we’ve ever rented. Every. Single. Thing you need is here. Down to the wine opener. **Things to be aware of: #1. The roads to the cabin are not blacktop. The listing makes this quite clear, but I want to emphasize again for the city folk. I didn’t have to use 4WD, but don’t be going in the winter in your Kia. Just Sayin’. #2. You will get ZERO cell service. As the listing states. You have wifi and a land line. **To the property owner- thank you for sharing your beautiful home with my family. It’s the most “at home” we’ve ever felt. DO NOT hesitate to book this property. You won’t regret it. (I could go on but I’m out of room) 🤣

Thanks for staying at The Lake House. We're so glad that you enjoyed the home and pointed out that the property description does truly describe what our guests should expect. The roads leading into community are primarily flat and accessible with AWD or 4WD. We truly enjoy managing this home for some wonderful owners who love it for the same reasons you mentioned. It's a peaceful getaway in both the winter and summer months. If you're looking for a serene environment to rest and restore, the Lake House is the place to be! ;)
Great location only 20 minutes from Woodland. Views were great. Could use the lake which was disappointing but we did get to see a moose swim across the lake and American White Pelicans. Place was well equipped except to AC.
Would go again but place now will only be rented on a monthly bases.

Thanks for staying at The Lake House. We're glad that you enjoyed it. The association rules do prohibit renters from using the lake but it's an amazing and peaceful place for relaxing and wildlife viewing as you mentioned.
We hope that everyone will enjoy staying longer in the future. Douglas County now requires a minimum one month rental period. A month at The Lake House will be a welcoming escape for many.
This cabin is in a beautiful location and has all the amenities you will ever need. We had a deer that visited us daily and the views were just spectacular. I would not hesitate to rent this property again.

Comfy and cozy. Deck great space. Lake views very nice.
It was a nice place to stay. great views, got to see some wildlife that we don’t normally get to see. Just needs some update with comfort of the furniture and mattresses and it would be a perfect place to stay. I would still recommend to others.

This property did not disappoint. The house had everything we needed, and was full of beautiful art as well. The lake offered us sightings of a great blue heron, beavers, and red winged blackbirds. I would highly recommend this spot!
My husband and I love the relaxing atmosphere of this cabin and the property. Our dog especially loved exploring outside. There are also lots of things to do within a 30 minute drive if you’re looking to explore even more!
