Lakeside Retreat Lake Lanier-Perfect getaway for couples!

Welcome to Dawsonville and one of North Georgia’s most intriguing locations, Lake Lanier. Here you will enjoy beautiful North Georgia mountains, vineyards, outlet shopping, hiking trails, etc. Only an hour north of Atlanta. This quaint studio cottage has all you need for a perfect getaway.
You will enjoy fully furnished nights with a plush king size bed, fully stocked chef’s kitchen, and a custom designed master bath with a stand-up shower and a beautiful air-bath tub. Comfortably heated floors are included for colder nights and a gas firepit table on the deck.. On warmer evenings you will enjoy sitting on the outdoor porch, overlooking the tranquil garden of evergreens or on the newly added side deck with views of Lake Lanier.(Please know that we are on the lake, but we do not have a dock.)
This will be a perfect alternative to a hotel stay for you while visiting Lake Lanier, North Georgia mountains, wineries, or Dahlonega. We live right around the corner on the lake with a two story dock complete with lounge chairs on top. We also have two kayaks and a paddle board that are available with access to the lake from our dock. You are more than welcome to hang out on our dock and fish/swim. I also have parking for a boat and you’re welcome to keep it at my dock while you are there. Short GetAway

Our stay was wonderful! The hospitality shown by the owner was exceptional and the effort she put in to make us feel welcomed is unmatched!! The home was adorable and very comfortable and clean! The location is perfect, kinda secluded and tucked away but still close enough to restaurants and shopping. I definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a getaway for 2

May Getaway

We loved everything about this property. Its perfect for 2 people and located just a short distance from the things we wanted to do. For us, that included Gibbs Gardens, Amicalola Falls, Dahlonega, Georgia Racing Hall of Fame and plenty of antique shops. You won't find a better host either! Donna had the refrigerator stocked with our favorite beverages and plenty of breakfast items to choose from. It was such a treat to stay here!

Gorgeous & Relaxing Getaway

We felt so welcomed when we stayed here! The fridge was well stocked. It was very tastefully decorated and we felt at peace in this home. The furnishings are nice and the bed was comfortable! It’s a nice quiet neighborhood too! The perfect little retreat! Would 100% recommend and stay here again!

Welcoming Cottage

The VRBO owner is welcoming and checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Lots of stocked snacks, drinks, and a great variety of Keurig coffee flavors. The cottage is just the right size for two. Nice bathroom, kitchen and comfortable bed. The location at the lake is scenic and Gainesville and Dahlonega are not far away.

This property cannot be more highly recommended.

Our stay was impeccable. Donna went above and beyond in every facet of our stay. The accommodations were beautifully decorated and just perfect. Donna went above and beyond with every detail from snacks, coffee, creamer, drinks, desserts, etc. In addition, she also was extremely helpful with advice about the area. If this accommodation is available, reserve it! You won’t be disappointed!

Simply Amazing

First, I have to mention our host, Donna, she’s amazing. You know the second you see the place that she enjoys what does, and trust me she is fantastic at it! From the minute we entered we were amazed. The cottage was magnificent. So well decorated. You can clearly tell cleaning is a priority, because it immaculate.if you’re ever in the area don’t hesitate to stay here. We will be using it for our weekend getaways. Excellent Getaway

This cabin is awesome! The owner has made this cabin a welcoming haven from the fall decorations, inspiring plaques on the wall, instrumental music playing as we entered down to goody bags for each of us—a handwritten board welcoming us as well as providing our favorite drinks. Definitely a 5 star stay.

Beautiful Property, Great Hospitality!

This property was just as cute as the pictures. The cabin was spotless and well maintained, the fridge was filled with all of the necessities and then some - and Donna even grabbed a few of our favorite snacks and beverages, a very welcoming touch. Donna's hospitality is top notch, we will be back!

It has always been a dream of mine to own a cabin that I could rent on VRBO because I love to host, decorate, and meet new people. So after retiring from a job I adored for 31 years (teaching school) I bought Rob’s Retreat. Rob had a very successful business, so when he decided he was going to move and sell his place I immediately told him that I wanted to buy it. That’s how Lakeside Retreat started in November 2022.

Why they chose this property

I chose this neighborhood because it’s so quiet and peaceful yet only 4 miles away from stores and shopping. The people are wonderful here and of course it’s on the lake.

What makes this property unique

my property is unique because it’s only for couples. The only place around here just for two people. It’s very quaint, but beautiful as well.
