About this property
SKI NUBS & BOYNE! Waterfront! OVERLOOKING LAKE MICH! Pool Table, PS2! SUNSETS!
Built in 2006, this cottage-style home has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and a total living area 2,400 sq. ft - plenty of room to spread out. This house is truly designed with the family in mind, with separate spaces for the grown-ups and kids alike.
Vintage Mod, Baby! It's luxurious, with a retro feel - sure to evoke a flashback or two. The shag carpeting, custom ceramic tile, custom woodwork and a mix of retro antiques and custom furniture (not to mention a few surprises) will help make this a vacation to remember.
Located in Harbor Springs opposite Lake Michigan on the famous Tunnel of Trees - a top destination for bicyclists. You're close to such vacation spots as Petoskey, Charlevoix, Cross Village, The Inland Water Way and the Straits of Mackinaw.
Atop this 130' bluff, witness panoramic views that will allow you to see all the way to Charlevoix and on some days even Beaver Island! Enjoy filtered views from the home as well as completely un-obstructed views from the meandering bluffside staircase with secluded sun deck that leads to the very private frontage on Lake Michigan. *Reminiscent of America's Pacific Northwest, there are times you can walk for miles (when conditions allow as it is rocky now, but will be sandy again some day) up and down without seeing a single person!*
*Lake levels and shore conditions are constently changing. There is no guarantee what the shoreline will look like. In the summer of 2019 it had gone from sandy with a few rocks to much higher water levels and no sand at all on shore. However once in the water there is a band of rocks then all sand. We recommend bringing water shoes to walk over the rocks to get to the sandy bottom, it will be worth it!
- For our winter guests we recommend bringing an all-wheel-drive vehicle or at the very least a front wheel drive with good snow tires.
---- Also we provide a starter supply of paper/soap products which should be enough for typical 3 night stay, for a smaller group of 2 people. For a complete list of "what is provided" and "things to bring", check out "Using the property”, on your “My Trip” page.
- Fireplace available Thanksgiving - April 1st.

About the host
Hosted by Lizzie B

I am Lizzie. My Dad built this home and he and my husband take care of maintenance. My mom does all the computer work. We are a very small, family business. <3
Why they chose this property
The Surf Cottage is on 4 acres of private land with 150' Lake Michigan frontage. The 'Tunnel of Trees' that our home is on was voted most picturesque road in Michigan by Travelocity.
What makes this property unique
The 1960's decor. We tried to make the home look and feel like a surfing cottage from the movies of that era.
