About this property
Riverbend Cabin! A Luxurious New Private Waterfront Log Cabin.
Whether it’s relaxation, a trip to downtown Asheville or Waynesville, fishing, hiking or just a peaceful stay on a beautiful bend of the river that you are looking for then this is the place for your vacation! Please refer to our other cabin listing Paradise at the Rivers Edge! to see our reviews. This cabin just like our Paradise Cabin, is unlike any cabin you will see anywhere. This perfect getaway sits on a 65 acre private estate located in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains. The setting makes you feel like you are in the backcountry or out west yet you are just minutes away from downtown Asheville or Waynesville and everything this area has to offer. We are only 1 mile from I-40 Exit 24 and 25 miles to downtown Asheville and The Biltmore Estate. You only need to make a mere 10 minute drive to enjoy all that Downtown Waynesville has to offer from fine dining to some of the areas best local breweries. The Blue Ridge Parkway cuts right through this area and you are just minutes away from several of its entrances.
After more than 20 years of dismantling old barns and log cabins and hoarding away the kinds of things you can’t just run out to the local building supply and buy, this unique property started to take shape. From the hand hewn solid oak log walls to the tobacco stick handrails this is a one of a kind getaway. All the woodwork and trim in the cabin is reclaimed from barns that were built 100 plus years ago by the owners great grandfather and has been transformed into what you will see in this truly unique property! All the flooring is salvaged from blizzard grade locust trees from the surrounding high mountains and made into a beautiful plank floor. Whether you want to bring the family or have just a private romantic getaway for your honeymoon/anniversary, this is a cabin unlike any other you will find.
Fishing this area is a big attraction so bring your fishing poles and get lost in the beauty of the western North Carolina mountains. Walk out the front door and down to the river and be fishing within minutes of your arrival.
The cabin offers a master suite with a handcrafted locust king size bed with pillow top mattress on the main level with a private bathroom and large tile shower. The upstairs bedroom has a queen size bed with pillow top mattress and it’s own bathroom. The loft area is well equipped with a full size sofa pullout sleeper overlooking the living area. There is also a queen size sleeper sofa in the living area. The kitchen has most everything for your cooking needs.. The living area is equipped with a large flat screen television and a fireplace/entertainment center. Both bedrooms also have flat screen as well. The cabin has Direct Now internet television as well as WiFi. With one bedroom and bathroom upstairs and one bedroom and bathroom downstairs it is a perfect spot for two couples to have plenty of privacy. Open up the huge glass doors and let the lullaby of the river coming around the bend echo through the cabin. Don’t forget the front porch where you will want to spend most of your time taking in the view and listening to the soothing sounds of nature. Watch closely for the huge cranes, hawks, geese, ducks and bald eagles that patrol the river. With the cabin being on the rivers edge you will most likely see some type of wildlife during your stay, there are coyotes, turkeys, deer, bear, squirrels, etc. Don’t be surprised to wake up to the cattle walking by just outside in the morning. With the long range Mountain View driveway leading to the cabin and the waterfront location this is a truly one of a kind property.
This cabin is home to more than fifty head of cattle so pets are not allowed at any time during your stay here. Also smoking is not allowed in the house but the porch and outside areas are allowed. Please discard cigarettes responsibly as there are dry leaves in heavily wooded areas surrounding the cabin.
With four unique private log cabins available now....Riverbend Cabin (listing number 7843149), Paradise Cabin (listing number 1148597), Cedar Cliff Cabin (listing number 2232038) and Castaway Cabin (listing number 3156188) please don’t hesitate to message us regarding multiple cabin rentals for your family getaway.

Everything about our trip was amazing. The cabin was gorgeous and view was incredibly peaceful. We met the hosts which went above and beyond our past experiences with other rentals. The hosts were very accommodating and even discussed an alternate route to the highway in the event of bad weather. This is the place to stay if you're looking for a peaceful getaway with lots to do within driving distance.
Christy and Jack are awesome and very welcoming. The cabin is well stocked and clean. Spending Valentine’s weekend in this beautiful cabin has been such a blessing. You can truly feel the love, vision, and hard work that went into building it by hand. It’s inspiring to see a dream brought to life in such a meaningful way.The peaceful river, the warmth of the cabin, and the beauty all around made for a perfect romantic getaway.
Wonderful cabin and hosts! We had a lovely stay and would happily return. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We had a great time fishing the river and exploring the area.
Beautiful cabin in a serene setting by a gorgeous river. The cabin was immaculate and so welcoming. The front porch is a wonderful spot to curl up and read a book, play board games or enjoy some coffee or wine with the relaxing sounds of the river. We cooked dinner every night and there were plenty of utensils and cookware for our needs. This was one of the few times I was away from home and in no hurry to get back. Next time I will make sure to leave enough time in our itinerary for fishing the river and reading on the front porch.
The cabin was amazing in every way- beautiful and private riverfront setting! Relaxing to hear the rush of the river and the waterfalls right from your porch! The cabin was very nicely decorated for the holidays and was very comfortable for our family. Modern touches but without losing the rustic cabin feel! Jack, our host, was readily available should we need anything - but we honestly had no issues! It was also a nice touch to receive a welcome bottle of wine. I would definitely stay here again if in the Waynesville area!
Amazing stay! The property was immaculate and the hosts were great. Incredible location on the Pigeon River and would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Waynesville area.
The property was amazing to just kick back and relax. The cabin was stocked with anything we could think of needing (firepit, wood, fishing poles, tackle, grill, gas, cornhole, board ganes, playpen, kitchen cooking and serving wear, etc.). Really well thought out and prepared! We enjoyed short trips to Ashville, Maggie Valley, and Waynesville. At the cabin you feel secluded but really 15 minutws to groceries and resturaunts if thats what you want. Would 100% stay again!!
Second visit possibly better than the first. Love the property, hosts, and the little community. I feel very close to nature staying here. Can't wait to return!!!
Our stay at the Riverbend Cabin exceeded our expectations. It didn't feel like a rental, it felt like a home. The view of the river was amazing. Nestled nicely in the woods but close to shops and trails. Very clean and nicely decorated, no detail was overlooked. Jack and Christy were so accommodating. Can't wait to return!
I was in town for a large golf event with friends that we do every year at this time. My wife daughter and I stayed here. Could not have asked for anything better. We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is directly in front of the river and access is easy. Everything about the place is top notch. Hopefully it will be available when we return next year.
Our family of 3 stayed here for a week and absolutely LOVED it!! The cabin was spotless and situated on the river for peaceful views. Bed was extremely comfortable and kitchen well stocked. We had no complaints at all and are already planning our next trip back to this home.
This cabin was immaculate! It was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The location was breathtaking. I can't say enough good things about our stay. The owners are welcoming and very helpful. We will most definitely return.
The Riverbend cabin was the perfect escape in the Smokies! The property & cabin is beautiful and even better than the pictures. Jack was a great host! Highly recommend and hope to return soon.
We enjoyed the amazing cabin and beautiful river. The cabin was perfect for a relaxing getaway and close enough to attractions to keep the whole family busy. Thank you for sharing your family’s beautiful property!
This was our second time staying at Riverbend cabin. The location by the river is perfect! Our family enjoyed fishing and the convenience of visiting downtown Waynesville for shopping and dining. Definitely one of our favorite vacation spots! The owners are very gracious and friendly.
