About this property

20 Minutes to Clemson - Remodeled 4 BR/3 BA Waterfront

Peaceful setting on a beautiful cove with clear emerald green deep water. From our dock you can swim, fish or just sit and take in the view. Your boat and jet-ski can rest comfortably in the covered slip and attached floating jet-ski dock. The fishing is top notch, from the shallow water pan fish and bass, to the deep water larger catches. The 143-foot-wide beach area provides a perfect place to launch our 2 kayaks or the canoe provided for your enjoyment. Bring your life preservers, water toys and floats. Moms can watch the kids from the gently sloping grassy shoreline or from the dock. For those who enjoy waterfront dining, there is small deck at the water’s edge with a table, chairs and umbrella for just that! There is also a primitive fire pit for those who love to roast hot dogs or marshmallows, or just have a fun evening with family and friends by a warm fire. You'll especially enjoy this on a cool fall, star-filled night.

The hall bath serves the two hall bedrooms and is convenient to the rest of the main living level. It has been renovated, including a solid surface counter top and tub/shower.
Lower Level: One Bath. New, upscale bath with solid surface counter top and custom walk-in tile shower.

The Kitchen
Serious cooks will love the kitchen. All new appliances! High-end, smooth top range with two ovens; an additional wall oven and matching microwave; large refrigerator in the kitchen and separate ice maker in utility room to insure plenty of ice for a large group on those hot summer days. You can seat up to 6 at the granite counter in the kitchen. It’s also a perfect place to prepare meals while you watch TV and converse with the family in the great room. Stand at the kitchen sink and wash dishes while you view the lake. You can also use the under counter dishwasher. Bring your whole coffee beans and use our grinder to make a superior cup of coffee in the 12-cup drip coffee maker. There is also a top-of-the-line Cuisinart SS-700 coffee maker that will use your K-cups (not the 2.0 K-cups). Large, 4-slice toaster will thaw and toast even your bagels. No old, beat up pots and pans in this kitchen; most of them are new and of high quality. The dishes and silverware are new, as well.

Dining Room
In addition to seating for 6 at the bar in the kitchen, the large trestle dining room table will seat 10 to 12. A nice bonus is the open view through the great room to the deck and lake.

Great Room
The view of the waterfront from the large picture windows is captivating. You’ll love the remote-controlled gas logs in the brick fireplace on those cool fall nights. The 50” HD flat screen TV with sound bar and blue-ray player is sure to please even the most ardent of movie or sports fans. Of course, there is cable service (includes the extra sports package) and WiFi internet. Don’t forget that the cable service includes music channels which sound great when played through the sound bar, with attached sub-woofer. You can also connect your smart phone or iPod wireless.

Game Room (Lower Level)
Completely new renovation. The game room hosts a pool table and other game table. The TV and sound components duplicate those on the main living level. There is also a brick fireplace with gas logs. Puzzles, board games and playing cards are at your disposal for the game table. There is even a view to the lake. This area is a hit with kids and adults alike.

The Deck
There is no better place to enjoy a view of the water front than from the back deck, off the great room. That morning cup of hot coffee just tastes better from the high perch, looking down on the calm, clear emerald green lake waters. You’ll enjoy the tall, mature trees providing plenty of shade on those hot summer days. It’s common, when the water is glassy, to be able to see large bass swimming in the shallow water below. The deck is furnished with a new table, large umbrella, and chairs for 6. There are plenty of additional deck chairs available if needed. The gas grill is relatively new and is connected to the large gas tank that also serves the two fireplaces. That means you won’t run out of gas in the middle of your family cookout! Don’t be surprised to find that the deck is a constant favorite gathering place for family and friends during your stay.

Other Notes
The upstairs bedrooms are carpeted and the downstairs bedroom has a tile floor.
New hickory hardwood floors throughout the great room, dining room, kitchen and hallway.
3 Charging stations for your iPhones, iPads etc. (kitchen, master bedroom, hall bedroom)
Utility room: Washer and dryer, utility sink, ice maker
Carport for one car, but over-sized, just off the utility room and kitchen
Plenty of room for several vehicles on the horseshoe drive
Parking space for your boat trailer
Restaurants and shopping only a few minutes away
Clemson Fans? Only 15 to 20 minutes to the Tiger games.

Clemson Ring Ceremony Weekend
Great stay! Our son received his Clemson ring, and we needed a home away from home for the weekend. This place did not disappoint. My family and I were able to relax, enjoy the view, and make precious memories.

Perfect home for our family weekend!
Highly recommend this house! Exactly as advertised. We shared this house with some friends for the Clemson game. We took our boat and were able to enjoy the lake. The children loved the playroom with pool table. Would definitely stay here again.

Frank & Carol Elmore

Both Frank and Carol grew up in southeastern North Carolina, within an hour's drive of coastal NC and SC. Both are graduates of UNC-Chapel Hill and have been married for 50 years. The extended family includes 2 adult children with spouses and 4 grandchildren. Frank is a retired CPA and owned a small tax practice in Chapel Hill, NC. Carol, an ex-school teacher, was the firm administrator for the CPA firm. In December of 2016, Frank sold his CPA practice and they retired to Hendersonville, NC.

Why they chose this property

Having grown up near the coast, we love the water and all the potential water-based activities. Now that we have grandchildren, we wanted a special place to enjoy family gatherings that would allow us to bless them with fun times on and in the water. We fell in love with the property because it has 143 feet of shoreline, all of which is accessible. The water is emerald green, clear and usually calm, which is perfect for all kinds of water play. For that reason we have affectionately named it “Emerald Cove”. And let's not forget the fishing! Lake Keowee is excellent for whatever flavor of fishing you prefer. The house stands on over an acre of land and was built in 1972, only a year after Lake Keowee was formed. We purchased it in the summer of 2015 and immediately started a major remodel. The main living level update was completed in late 2015. The lower level, a walk-out basement, was completed during 2016. The home has a fresh, updated feel and yet it is comfortable. It is our desire to make Emerald Cove the kind of special place where wonderful family memories are made.
