Exactly what we needed
Our group of four stayed here for our annual week-long fishing trip and the place fit our needs perfectly. It is fairly close to some of our favorite fishing spots yet only minutes from shopping, gas, etc. It was clean and well organized. Communication with the host/owner was great and finding out that he is also a fisherman was a bonus. Recommended!
Great location- close to the state park. Home was clean and beds we’re comfortable. We loved that we could bring our furry friend too! The home had everything we needed and more. We will return!
Our family and friends enjoyed a long weekend. The house and location were great. It was close to downtown Ludington and Ludington State Park. The house was better than the picture and description showed online. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a place that makes you feel like you are at home.
Pros: close to beach, quiet, clean, wild turkeys in backyard, easy to find, nice open kitchen, property management was responsive
Cons: listing said access to private beach but no instructions how to get to it, well water stinks like sulfur, toilet flushes slow, pricing was higher once all fees added, listing said one thing on vrbo while instructions said something else e.g. check in and out times

Paul, we're glad you enjoyed your stay overall! We strive to build our listings in the most detailed light, and we don't advertise this property as having access to a private beach. However, we're sorry if that caught you off guard. The homeowner plans to install a new toilet and change the water filter which should clear up the sulfur smell from the well water. We apologize for the confusion regarding the check-in/check-out time, and we've made the changes so that the listing and our guest communications reflect the same information. We appreciate you taking the time to leave your review, and we hope to travel with you again soon! Best, the Evolve Team
We loved the inside of our house. Did not expect a window A.C. unit kept kitchen and dining room cooled other rooms were a little stuffy. Needs at least one more unit.
Would have been nicer if lawn would have been mowed and tree by lane was trimmed.
We liked the area and plan to visit again. Thanks for getting our big dog approved to stay with us.

Hi James, We are happy to hear that you loved your stay at the property! The homeowner appreciates your feedback, and they will look into adding another A/C unit for next season. In the meantime, there are several fans available to supplement the A/C unit in the kitchen. The owner also apologizes that the lawn was not mowed when you arrived. It had actually been scheduled for the morning before your check-in, but it was delayed to later in the week due to storms in the area. Thank you for letting us know about your stay, and we hope to host you again soon! Best, the Evolve Team

Quaint and Comfortable
We love Ludington. This is the first time we rented accommodations vs. using a campground or hotel. The home is a couple of miles out of the city proper. It is on a busy street with no sidewalks, but is situated on a big lot, so kids or pets have room to play away from the street. It quiets down overnight. The outside deck is nice. It’s a compact, older, smaller home, and the owners have done a good job keeping it clean and updated with quality materials. We felt like it was someone’s Summer home vs. a rental home.

Loved the cottage but not on a main road
The cottage was clean and fully stocked with everything we needed. The only issue is that the road is very busy being on a main road. The kids were not able to ride their bikes. Everything else was perfect.
Clean, well maintained property and home. Close to town and outdoor activities. Plenty of needed amenities with the exception of toilet paper. Would definitely go back.

Great cottage with a PERFECT location!
I can't say enough about how wonderful this place is!! It's clean, well maintained, and it's obvious that the owners have put a lot of work into making this a cozy & welcoming place. My family has stayed here a couple times and it keeps getting better! An outside shower has been added and the deck is the perfect shady, post-beach hang out.
Speaking of the beach, the location is outstanding! It's a 3 minute drive to Ludington State Park which has several pull-out areas to access the beach. It's an easy 10 minute drive into Ludington itself which has all kids of cute shops and great restaurants. Overall, can't wait to come back!

No communication/horrible beds
I needed to speak with the property manager and emailed numerous times along with calling and no response. Every single bed in the house had to have been at least 20 years old and had no support. The description in the listing said the was a/c and when we arrived there was the tiniest window unit in the kitchen to cool the entire house which was 3 bedrooms so we roasted the entire time unless standing in the kitchen. Definitely very disappointed in this location. The plus is that it was very close to the ludington state park and sand dunes which were very quiet and peaceful

Hi Tylee, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and we wanted to share the following:
- The guest contact did not receive any communication from your group, but they would have been happy to help with any issues during your stay.
- The guest room's full bed has been updated with a new queen bed, and the master bedroom has a new mattress.
- The owners have recently added A/C units for the 2021 season. During your stay, there was only a window unit, and the listing didn't advertise the A/C unit yet.
We are confident this home will continue to host many happy travelers!
Such a cute place!! Updated and clean. Spacious enough for our group of 6. Super cool shower outside to wash off the sand before coming in the house. Nice deck with lights and a big fire pit outback. Would totally recommend!! Only drawback is there is one window AC unit in the kitchen so the living room gets warm by the evening but we opened the windows at night to try to cool it off. Also it’s decorated SO cute! You can really tell someone worked hard on this! Only 5 min from Ludington state park. Loved it. Thank you!
The pictures are absolutely spot on. This property is gorgeous. We stayed a full week and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Close to golfing and the beach. A great, big deck for night time get togethers and cook outs. Bedrooms were spacious, especially the master. Will absolutely stay here again.
We loved having lots of room for yard games and a fire. The house was very clean and spacious for my family. We will definitely rent this house again. It’s only a mile from town so it was perfect!
Nice house and decorated very cute. Could tell a lot of the amenities were new including the towels, sheets and pillows. Was in a nice location. Only a short drive to Sterns Beach and the downtown area or to the state park. The only negatives we encountered at this house was the back, main door dead bolt lock didn't seem to work which we were unhappy about and I found a bowl of leftover food in the microwave that the last residents but of forgot about and the cleaning people didn't find. Other than these two minor issues I would recommend staying at this rental.
