Tranquil Stowe Cedar Cape

Come enjoy our serene 3 bed cape located just outside of the village of Stowe. The house is conveniently located 15 minutes to Stowe ski resort, and less than 5 minute to Stowe's lower village.

This 2.8 acre property is located on a private road surrounded by a peaceful forrest atop a hill. The home has undergone extensive renovations in the past few years with a large custom kitchen with granite counters, custom cabinets, gas fireplace, and all stainless appliances. Both bathrooms have been beautifully renovated, and are furnished with natural stone tile and modern fixtures. The grandiose kitchen dining room is great for entertaining, and opens up to a massive deck furnished with patio furniture. The deck overlooks perennial flower gardens, and a large secluded back yard.

There is a king and a queen bedroom upstairs, and there is a king bed that can be split into 2 twins on the main floor. All Bedrooms are fitted with new Saatva luxury mattresses, speed controlled ceiling fans, and sun up/down black out shades.

The finished basement contains a living room with a TV and big couch to enjoy a movie night with family or friends as well as a bar, a foosball table and ping pong table. See who has the most skills or declare victory over your loved ones!

Special Setting for Family

Our group of five had a great summer stay - making serious use of nearby hiking trails and numerous cycling routes while also enjoying the Mountain views, fresh water swims and this great house nestled in the woods.

It's a lovely house on a great lot. The deck is fantastic, and the kitchen is best we've seen in 30 years of renting vacation homes in Vermont. Communications with the homeowner were also great with prompt responses through the VRBO appThe one lament about the property is the lack of a sitting area on the main floor, but I suspect that was the trade off to get a bedroom, full bath & the laundry area on the main floor.

Super stay near Stowe

This house is beautiful and very well appointed, especially the kitchen. The deck and grounds were lovely and had comfortable seating. My preference would be summer/fall stays to make use of the outside of the house, there is a couch in the basement but the highlight really is the yard/deck.

A great location that's in the wilderness, but has a grocery store and good food just a couple min down the road. My friends and our two dogs loved it! If we plan another trip to Stowe we'll probably try to book it again!

Great stay

We got in super late and the host had all of the lights on. It was very easy to access the place. It was clean, spacious and well stocked with any and everything that we might need host couldn’t have been nicer. We had a lovely stay. It’s a great bright house spacious yet each room has its own little bit of privacy for each person. It’s about 20 miles from Stowe, which is where we went during the day to ski.

Christmas Ski trip

My family was very happy with the property and had a great week here. It’s off the beaten path in a good way but still easy to find and get to. Outstanding kitchen, well equipped with several of the little things that make cooking easier, especially away from home. Game room downstairs kept my teen boys happily entertained. Rooms were all well represented by the photos. Vermont helped with plenty of fresh snow making this property magical for Christmas. Easy check-in and plenty of helpful details from the owner. We would absolutely come back if we find ourselves in the area again.

Yearly ski trip with friends

A beautiful vacation home a few miles from downtown Stowe and a 15 min drive to Mt Mansfield. The kitchen was well stocked with spices Etc. and top notch cook ware and appliances. We enjoyed the ping pong table in the lower level. Beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms were well stocked with shampoo and soaps-loved the heated towel racks. On entrance to the house is a large mudroom to store your skis and coolers etc. Definitely a place I would rent again if going to Stowe. Thank-you for your hospitality It was

Gorgeous Fall Getaway

We were 2 couples in town visiting for leaf peeping and this house was perfect with 2 comfortable king beds, separate bathrooms, well equipped kitchen and laundry, and the views are absolutely spectacular. Other than no dressers to unpack, it had everything we needed. We were only 10 min from Stowe, shops, hikes, breweries and within an hour or so of all the beautiful towns and places we wanted to visit. The house has a beautiful deck that we could see the Northern Lights, a cozy fireplace and entertainment in the finished basement had a TV, foosball table and ping pong to keep us occupied! The home was very clean and had tons of kitchen supplies and condiments to share. We highly recommend the property. We have rented tons of VRBO around the world and this one was one of the best, you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely amazing!!!!

This house is amazing!!! It is so homey you just don’t want to leave! It has everything and more that you might need!! We loved how secluded it felt, but it was just a 5 min drive into Stowe! It would be perfect for a family to stay. 3 nice size bedrooms with very comfortable beds!! The only thing I noticed was there aren’t any TV’s in the bedrooms, if you have people/kids that want to watch something else, but definitely not a deal breaker!!! I would 1000% recommend this house! Book it now! You will LOVE it!!!!

Nestled in the countryside outside Stowe, this house is easily accessible to great hiking trails, waterholes and epic road and gravel rides. Huge deck to kick back at the end of the day and big yard for the dogs to roam.

A great Stowe getaway

The communication of the property owner was excellent. The home is very nicely renovated and is exactly as described in pics. The town of Stowe is a five minute drive you can hit the slopes from the house in 10-15 min. easy drive. Game room in the basement was a hit with the kids. Just a really nice time with my family skiing and hanging out at home.

Perfect fall get away!

Amazing stay for our family

Susannah's home was the perfect place for our family to experience Stowe and the surrounding area. She was extremely responsive to my questions and her check in instructions were timely and detailed. We arrived early evening and had no problems finding or accessing the home. The house was exactly as described and better than the pictures. The kitchen had everything a family could need for their stay or even cook a meal. The deck was great and the location. I highly recommend Susannah's house and will definitely stay again for our next trip.

Susannah and Brandon both grew up in New York State, and met in Syracuse in a smokey bar one night. Thirteen year, one dopey dog, and two properties later here we are. We currently live and work in New York City, but love spending all of our spare time in Stowe. We want to share our oasis with you.

Why they chose this property

Brandon has always been a snowboarder, and New York City area ski resorts are boring. After years of commuting to better mountains up north, we looked into buying a ski house on a limited budget. It took months of searching, but we finally found a diamond in the rough. We've been working hard to make this house what it is today. We have done nearly all of the renovations ourselves, on weekends while commuting back and forth from New York City. We think the finished product is elegant, but down to earth, and utilizes the space in the most efficient way possible.

What makes this property unique

The property, location, and the homes rustic charm are what attracted us to this gem. In it we saw unfettered potential to make it the perfect tranquil escape. Our work isn't finished and we have big plans for this property. We will continue to reshape this home to realize our vision.
