Right Outside of New Orleans - Amazing Family-Friendly 4BR Waterfront Home

High Tide is very comfortable, beautifully decorated 4 bedroom, 3 bath home located on the water of Lake Pontchartrain in a quiet suburb of New Orleans.

Relax and unwind on the shores of Lake Pontchartrain at High Tide, a spacious 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with a fireplace, eat-in kitchen, separate dining room, and private deck/dock with direct access to the water for swimming, fishing, and boating.

The master bedroom features a king-size bed with water views. Two bedrooms each have a queen-size bed. There is a bunk room upstairs with 2 sets of bunk beds and a sleeper sofa in the living room. The home also has three full bathrooms (2 down, 1 up). The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, a eat-in breakfast area with table, and a separate dining room that seats eight.

Nestle in with your morning coffee or favorite nightcap on our large deck with multiple sofas and plush chairs. The deck is only 15 feet from the water that easily seats 8 with extra chairs for overflow. The deck and dock are the perfect place to relax and enjoy the views of the water. There is also a gas grill on the deck for cooking meals al fresco.

Please note: All of our properties are located in quiet, residential neighborhoods. Pets, loud parties, more guests than the maximum listed, and excessive vehicles (>3) are not allowed and grounds for dismissal without refund.
We will allow one certified service dog with appropriate certification papers but only with the payment of a $250 non refundable carpet cleaning fee. Multiple service animals are not allowed.


High Tide is 7 minutes from some of the best fishing in the country. Bring your boat and kids and swim, ski, fish and boat in Lake Pontchartrain. There is a large dock with deep water access via boat. The lake is a 5 minute boat ride from the dock. You can even fish right off the dock in the front yard. However, the nearby Rigolets offer with incredible salt water fishing plus access to fresh water fishing within 20 minutes by boat.

There are also plenty of restaurants, shops, and attractions nearby, making it the perfect place to explore all that the New Orleans area has to offer.

We shared this home with two other couples, we each had our own private bathrooms very comfortable beds, and a great location. We love sitting on the back deck every day watching the wildlife we were about 30 minutes from downtown New Orleans great restaurants within a 10 minute drive from the house would go back again in the future.

I booked this home again because I knew exactly what I was getting, one of the best homes in the Minneapolis area. The amenities are second to none. The host is always quick to respond. Clean, well situated property. We loved relaxing on the porch overlooking the water! The house was a perfect share for me, my husband, our two teenaged sons, and our friends who joined us for JazzFest. We were able to book this home last minute and we were pleasantly surprised how great this property is…on the water, very spacious and had everything we needed! Great location and quiet neighborhood! Mom and I loved the mornings on the deck drinking coffee and watching the fish jump! This will be our “go to” home away from home when visiting our Slidell family.

Very nice place to stay!

This was one of the best places we've stayed at. Excellent location only a half hour or so from the French Quarter, the rear deck overlooking the waterway was an enjoyable place to have your coffee and watch the wildlife, neighbourhood was a very safe area to stay in and we were only a short drive from a couple of must-do swamp tours. Home was well stocked with everything you would need (except for a tea kettle?) and it was a comfortable place to stay. We would definitely check availability here if / when we return to the New Orleans area.

Relaxing waterfront retreat

We enjoyed our stay very much, there were a couple of maintenance issues that I’m sure are handled now, it was hard to get service people out over the holiday, totally understandable. Communication with property manager was great. Very nice and peaceful back porch, Nice sitting area, would be nice to have a table out there for outdoor dining as the view is great. Overall, we loved it and had a wonderful stay.

Very Impressive!

I wasn't sure what to expect... I grew up in Slidell but on the other side of town. I forgot how convenient Slidell is to everything, NOLA south and beaches to the east. I recommend this home to anybody interested in exploring the area and needing some rest and relaxation. The home was clean and spacious. The owner was very accommodating. Great vacay!

Great property, clean, exactly as described and shown. Lisa was amazing with communication, even helping us navigate weather and finding an open store so we could feed our family during some very unprecedented weather during our stay. It was not the vacation we planned, everything was closed for days, but we were safe and warm in this home. My teen even left his AirPods behind and they were mailed back to us. Honestly & integrity are hard to find, you’ll be glad you chose this Vrbo!!!

absolutely Amazing! on the water and easy drive to New Orleans!

We were so glad we booked this listing! You wont find this kind of a set up often- right on the water and with such a fast drive to the New Orleans French Quarter. Im so glad we didn't stay in town. There was a huge deck that we relaxed on and cooked outdoors on a brand new bbq pit. We had a good breeze from the lake the whole time. The kids loved the water . We brought our boat and could tube, fish or ski in the lake in 5 minutes. The restaurants we boated too were all amazing- I felt like we were on a luxurious beach vacay! All brand new and beautiful decor. I cant wait to stay here again- sitting by the fireplace in the winter and enjoying the gorgeous view. Thanks Lisa-Ive stayed at some of your other wonderful properties . I cant heart this enough!

Great home for families

We travel to New Orleans multiple times per year and this was our first stay at this property. The home was appointed with everything we needed, it was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed coffee on the back deck in the morning and the neighborhood is extremely quiet. Communication with the host was timely and we had no trouble at all during our stay. Great 2nd half of our Family Spring break. This property is a very nice family environment. Offered a beautiful tranquil waterfront deck experience. The kids had a blast fishing off the boat dock.

High Tide is very comfortable and beautifully decorated with all new furnishings and finishes. Right on the water it is peacefully set in a waterfront community just a short drive (25 minutes) from the French Quarter and downtown New Orleans. Very conveniently located for shopping and dining with the family. High Tide is also centrally located to allow access to the Mississippi Gulf coast beaches and casino's. You will not find a more comfortable home with water front access, a deep water dock, large deck with comfortable plush seating and an amazing view of the bayou and wildlife. Fishing is right off the dock in front of the house. A BBQ pit is available right on the deck. You can have it all with swimming. boating, kayaking, water skiing, tubing, barbecuing within a short drive to New Orleans. The home also has a large fireplace for cozy fires after a long day on the town. Very peaceful and quit at night for a restful night sleep. Great close dining options within a few minutes drive of the house.
