Bass Fishing right in your backyard!

Perfect cozy house for a relaxing base camp as it is close to the New River Gorge, Summersville Lake and countless hiking trails. We ended every day by the pond fishing and caught a bass every evening! The kitchen is stocked with everything thing you need and the grill was perfect for 6 steaks. Plenty of yard for our cornhole next to the fire pit. Tom left us delicious homemade scones “ready to bake” and we really appreciated all of the ziplock bags on our daily hikes. The internet was reliable for me to work every morning. Definitely will return!

nothing less than perfect

This property literally has it all! The house itself is spacious, clean, and has everything you need from every kitchen utensil, pots and pans, coffee pot, 2 large refrigerator/freezers, to toiletry items, such as soap, shampoo, and even paper towels and toilet paper and cleaning products. It is well stocked with towels, blankets, pillows. Our family of 7 had more than enough room. You could easily sleep a few more adults. We enjoyed the firepit, with ample amount of seating. And the property itself has nice large trails to explore the wilderness and a pond stocked with sunfish and bass. It's just a short drive, about 10 minutes, to Summersville Lake, where we spent a day on a pontoon, enjoying the breathtaking views that surrounded us. I can't express this enough, you will not be disappointed in ANY way! The host was phenomenal, the check in/check out process is a breeze. I hope to make it back to the area next year and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere but here!

Can't wait to go back!

The property was so peaceful! We spent our days fishing at the lake which is very well stocked and our night's by the fire pit or watching Netflix. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed to cook and clean up with. The house was cozy and had been beautifully updated. The owner made check in a breeze and answered all of our questions throughout the weekend almost immediately after we messaged him. We wanted a relaxing weekend with friends and family and that is exactly what we got. We are planning another trip next summer and we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

Second annual sewing retreat success!

During the pandemic two of my friends and I decided we needed a getaway for our mental health. We found this amazing property met all of our needs and booked it. We loved it so much we booked it again and now annually! Clean, cozy, accommodating, and an amazing host. You can’t go wrong booking this property.

Peaceful getaway

Just as promised in those beautiful pictures, this property is peaceful and relaxing. The owner took care of our check-in process to be seamless (and contactless) and offered advice and suggestions as asked for throughout our stay. Needless to say it was a much needed break and we had no idea how 2 days zoomed past in-front of us. Would definitely recommend this place.

Perfect weekend getaway

Our friends and I just spent a wonderful long weekend at this property. Numbering 6 guests we were very comfortable in the cabin, it was just as spacious as the pictures online showed. It would have easily accommodated a few more. We found the property to be extremely well equipped, with tons more kitchen supplies and cooking implements than we anticipated coming with the rental price. The beds were extremely comfortable, and plenty of blankets were available (though it wasn’t particularly cold while we were there). The fire pit worked great, lots of good camper pies were made and extra wood was available nearby and was quite inexpensive to purchase. We saw more stars in the sky than we had in a long time! The property was easy to walk on, visiting the butterfly meadow and pond were daily events, and we did see a very late season monarch butterfly flitting among the milkweed plants. An afternoon of fishing in the pond netted 2 sunnies and 6 largemouth bass for 2 novice fishermen using worms for bait. Tom the owner was great at getting back to us with answers to all our questions and great suggestions for hiking and other things to do. The cabin is well situated to take advantage of both the New River Gorge area, Summersville lake and all the nearby parks and hiking trails. There is a bit of road noise in the morning, but it didn’t deter a young buck from walking right past the cabin as we were sipping our morning coffee. I’d recommend this cabin as a place to stay for anyone wanting to visit the area.
