This house was great for what we needed! Has plenty of bedroom and living space. Plenty of kitchen supplies bath towels and beach towels. Loved the small town feel away from the busy of the bigger towns and the drive to get to beaches and other tourist places was great! A little gas station/party store/mini grocery store right across the street was so convenient thanks for a great vacation in your home

We appreciate your feedback and glad your family enjoyed the stay. We hope to see you in Cedar again soon.
This was a great place for us to celebrate our (adult) kids' birthdays. Everyone had a bedroom and bathroom. The dining table was perfect for planning games. We were close enough to wineries and restaurants to feel like we could do all the things we wanted. Check in was super simple with good communication. Highly recommended.

Cute town comfortable accommodations
From the outside the home doesn’t look like much but was very comfortable and accommodating for our group of 10 adults. We absolutely love the town and surrounding areas. Love that it is centrally located on the peninsula. We would stay here again for our annual cycling trip.

Five friends take an annual trip and we had to book this property on short notice. We were pleasantly surprised that it met all of our needs. It was conveniently located to groceries, gas, and there was a great tavern with walking distance. Would like to see ceiling fans installed in the bedrooms. Great place.

This was a great property for our week-long family vacation. Everyone had plenty of room, and we liked the two sitting areas. The property had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable, however although the kitchen was well stocked the absence of a dishwasher was noticeable when you have a large group staying together.
The location was perfect. Cedar is a small town but everything was less than a minute's walk from the property - gas station, grocery store, Cedar Tavern for great food & pizza, coffee & bakery shop, ice- cream shop, plus several little gifts shops.
We really enjoyed our week there.

Overall, a nice experience. Skimpy on wash cloths and hand towels for bath rooms. Kitchen could use some more supplies. Good thing we didn’t really do any cooking. Nice area and convenient. Also, why wouldn’t you have shower curtain liners

From the owner: Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback. My family purchased this home after your stay, and we were happy to hear your feedback. All the towels were replaced and can properly accommodate groups like yours. We hope to see you in Cedar again soon.
Just what we were looking for. Stayed with two families. Four adults and three kids. It was plenty of room. Two bedrooms went unused. Hot water never ran out. Convenient laundry. Location is the best part. Halfway between Glen Arbor and Traverse City. Walking distance to Ice Cream (always busy though) tavern with amazing pizza, a coffee shop, Buntings Convenient store and gas.
The property was suitable for our needs, but we had some issues. Dishes and utensils were put away dirty. We had to clean them. There were multiple drain and plumbing issues as well. The host had to come out to fix them. The kitchen was not very well stocked, especially for a home that sleeps 10+ people. We've stayed numerous places as we travel for work. This location was lackluster
This location had a large number of beds so everyone could spread out and that worked well. No complaints on the rooms except more closets would have been helpful since we were all going to a wedding and everyone had formal wear to hang up. The back bathroom and back room with a bed that was used did not have privacy curtains and we had to drape sheets over the windows. The front room also did not have enough curtains to cover all the windows so we felt a little exposed. However, since the residence is up for sale, I doubt the owner will be putting any upgrades to this house. I believe this is also why the kitchen was so poorly equipped for cooking -those melted utensils and heavily scratched non stick pans should be thrown out. Washing machine and dryer worked well. We arrived to find an overflowing garbage can around back but there was an empty second garbage pail that we were able to use.

From the owner: “Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. My family purchased this home after your stay, and we agree with the points you made. Since then, we have added blackout curtains to the bedrooms and the front of the house. We have also replaced the cooking utensils, pots, and pans, and added other kitchen items. We hope to welcome you back to Cedar again sometime soon!"
Worst stocked kitchen I've ever seen and no dishwasher
The location was great and the house had plenty of beds, but there were so many things that could have made it more pleasant.
1. I really didn't think that I'd have to check and see if there was a dishwasher. That was very disappointing.
2. There was only one dish rag (remember- no dishwasher!) So we had to use a lot of paper towels to handwash the dishes. (Luckily we brought a ton of our own paper plates)
3. No 9 x 13 pan, no regular sized saucepan. The potholders had holes in them. No mixing bowls and generally just a terribly stocked kitchen. The silverware drawer had crumbs in it.
4. No trashcan in the bathroom and most importantly--- no BLINDS! There was a window by the shower, but only sheer curtains are hung. I took a blanket and hung it up so I wasn't flashing the nearby house. That seems like a pretty basic thing--- if you have a window in a bathroom, make sure there are BLINDS for crying out loud.
5. I didn't like sharing a trashcan and recycling can with the house beside us. There were 12 of us and that is way too much trash to be sharing.
6. I think there are definite improvements to be made in order to make this a better place to stay.

Hi Kyle, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. The property was purchased shortly after your stay, and your thoughtful comments were genuinely appreciated. Based on your suggestions, several updates have been made, including replacing the towels and cookware, adding baking dishes and other kitchen essentials, and installing blackout curtains to enhance privacy and sleeping comfort. While we may not have had the opportunity to showcase these improvements during your stay, your feedback has helped enhance the experience for future guests.
Our families had a wonderful time visiting Lake Michigan with our teenagers and elementary kids. So much to do in the area and very comfortable at the house, Cedar is a cute little town with a convenient store , ice cream shop, coffee shop and a tavern with pizza ;-) Host was quick to answer questions, can’t wait to come up north again, wonderful stay!

Perfect location in the quaint and friendly town of Cedar.
I honestly can't say enough good things about our stay here. My family has been visiting the Traverse City area for 40 years. While we typically stay close to the lake, our accommodations changed last minute and we were incredibly lucky to find this gem.
Cedar itself is centrally located to the Traverse City area, 30 minutes to Traverse, likely the same to Sutton's Bay and very close to many lakes. But the town of Cedar has all the basic amenities you will need for your time up north. Walking distance (literally across the street) from this home you will find, coffee shop, gas station (with rec fuel), grocery store with prepared foods, tavern, hardware store, ice cream stand, food trucks, wetland/river preserve and park...
The house is recently remodeled with 5 bedrooms and 3 full baths. Our big family had room to spare! The owner was incredibly responsive and took time to make sure we had everything we needed for a great week.
We are very grateful for this property and plan to visit again soon!

We had a lovely time in such a cute little town. The market and ice cream shoppe being so close was a much welcomed surprise!

Annual Family Vacation Stay
Lovely home! Great location for exploring Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Haven, Glen Arbor, and Traverse City (20-25 minutes away)! The home provided what we needed to cook breakfast and a couple of dinner meals with a large dining room table to gather around. There were a few eating places within a 5-mile radius, with a coffee shop and food mart and ice cream stand across the street. Our family consisted of 8 adults (4 couples) and 2 small children, who had their own room. The 2 bathrooms downstairs were a nice size and very nicely accommodated the 3 couples and 2 children sleeping downstairs. With 2 lounging areas, there was some room to spread out. However, we wanted to all be together in the evenings, so really didn't use the back lounge area, except for our granddaughter to play in. The extra-long picnic table was a pleasant surprise as it seated all 10 of us! We had a very memorable time!! Thank you for sharing your home!
Very clean, well kept and welcoming. No problems or surprises - as advertised.
Enjoyable stay.

Nice Place to Stay!
We had a group of eleven, and found this house very clean, well laid out for a large group, and conveniently located. A couple of suggestions: One bedroom could use a queen, rather than a double bed, and a door for the back TV area (which doubles as a bedroom) would be great.
Overall, excellent experience, highly recommended!
Very clean, good layout, good location at the edge of Cedar. Good experience. Could have used a queen bed instead of a double in one of the rooms, and a door for the back sitting area (which doubles as a bedroom) would be great.
Overall the property was great. Could use more bath towels especially when you have 12 guest register, shades on back bathroom(sheer curtains are not adequate). And shades on backroom that has twin bed. Nice little town with market, coffee shop, bar, ice cream shop and only 20 minutes to Travese City.

Clean but poorly stocked and no privacy
Upon arrival we were very happy with the clean sheets, floors, etc., however, by the end of the first day we were already out of garbage bags, paper towels, hand towels, toilet paper and Kleenex.
Fortunately there was a convenient store across the street so that we could quickly restock but it was still a bit frustrating that for an 11 person house, they wouldn’t provide more than one of everything. We had 11 girls so 3 rolls of toilet paper isn’t going far for a 4 day trip. We did get in touch with our guest host Neil (who was responsive throughout the trip) and he was able to bring over the items that we hadn’t already purchased ourselves the following day. He said this was an issue with housekeeping and that everything would have normally been stocked....which is great to hear but maybe in the future the house can be checked by the local rep after the housekeepers leave to ensure the renters are provided everything the listing says they will.
The towel situation was also a problem throughout the weekend, there were quite a few tiny wash clothes but only one hand towel per bathroom and one large towel per person for showering. We would have been happy to do a load of laundry but unfortunately no detergent was provided.
Gnats were also a huge problem in the home which we understand is an issue bc of all the vineyards in the area. They recommend in the welcome book to keep vinegar with dish soap out in a bowl to deter them but they didn’t actually provide any vinegar.
I think for a short stay they shouldn’t expect every guest to purchase vinegar themselves, but I highly recommend you do unless you want gnats swarming every drink, food and garbage in the house.
Lastly, the home is on a busy street and there are zero blinds so zero privacy. The lights in the living room are insanely bright so at night, just expect that literally every person on the main road can see everything happening in the living room, dining room and kitchen.
A few positive things I did want to share was parking - lots of spots on the right side of the house, the early check in ability that we were given, very much appreciated and the yard with fire pit, nice chairs and a lot of fun.

Hi Alison, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- The house is fully stocked for the appropriate amount of guests on the reservation which was set at 11, however, when we came with the additional supplies, there were over 16 guests in the house
- We made sure to do everything we could to make your stay great to accommodate you and your guests. We want to be clear, though, our house rules state no parties, events, or large gatherings and have a maximum occupancy which your group disregarded.
The homeowner does all they can to make it the best possible stay, and we look forward to hosting many satisfied guests!
The house was clean and easy to find, the description was accurate and factual. I would happily stay here again. It fit my large group with plenty of space. All in all I would certainly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay close to the Traverse City/Leelanau area.
